What you'll be doing

The Clinical/ Midwifery Nurse Consultant will provide expert support, to improve interpersonal connection and lessen isolation amonsgt clinicians as they navigate the complexity of care of chronic and/or severe pediatric patients through the Connect, Pause and Reflect (CPR) Programme.

The role provides an organisational leadership of the programme.

In collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders, the Clinical Nurse Consultant will lead engagement of the nursing staff in CPR reflective sessions and utilization of resources providing education and evaluation.

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a minimum of 5 years full time post qualification experience
• Relevant approved post registration qualification in field of practice or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
• Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice
• Demonstrated high level communication and inter- personal skills
• Demonstrated participation in the development of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) is an extended role within the scope of a Registered Nurse/Midwife that provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network

Acts as an appropriate and effective role model to promote culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.

Provides senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service.

Provides advanced skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making while working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

•Exercises extended autonomy of decision making;

•Exercises professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills.

•Undertakes leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice service delivery in the ward/service; or
