The Aged Care Reform Unit works at a statewide level to support the care and services delivered by the Tasmanian Health Service to older Tasmanians. The Unit works strategically in supporting operational areas to deliver Commonwealth funded aged care Services and to implement the Aged Care Reforms from the new Aged Care Act 2024.

The Senior Advisor - Safety and Quality (Aged Care Reform Unit) will -

• Coordinate statewide safety, quality, and performance reporting to support consistent performance monitoring, accountability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Support the development, implementation, and review of statewide clinical governance frameworks, including policies, protocols, guidelines, and governance tools that promote safe, high-quality care and alignment with aged care legislation, standards, and reform requirements.
• Provide advice and support to strengthen governance, risk management, and quality systems, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of governance improvements.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health and aged care governance, including a sound understanding of how health systems operate in relation to aged care services.
• Demonstrated experience in safety and quality activities within a healthcare or aged care setting, including the ability to identify issues and contribute to the development and implementation of improvement initiatives, projects, policies, and education.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant accreditation and regulatory frameworks, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

The Team

Ambulance Tasmania (AT) promotes and provides integrated high quality, emergency ambulance care, rescue, and patient transport to the Tasmanian community. The role of AT is to provide pre-hospital patient care, specialised patient transport, medical transfers, and public education. AT achieves this using salaried and volunteer staff as well as through the support of independent ambulance services.

Ambulance staff are frontline health care professionals. They are active members of the health care team, contributing to the preservation and restoration of health for the people of Tasmania. Paramedics provide efficient and effective medical care, which is timely, appropriate to the needs of the patient, of a high quality and equitably available.

The Role

• Attend to members of the community requiring clinical care and treatment via ambulance services.
• Independently, or as part of a team, deliver pre-hospital clinical care in accordance with approved clinical practice guidelines.
• Maintain constant contact with the State Communications Centre, in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania (AT) policies and protocols.
• Complete all relevant documentation with respect to clinical services, training provided and changes to the working environment and equipment.
• Maintain a prescribed level of knowledge in ambulance care practices and the correct application of ambulance equipment.
• Maintain the allocated vehicle and equipment in a state of readiness at all times.

You will need

• Ability to deliver pre-hospital clinical care and transport in accordance with approved clinical practice guidelines.
• Evidence of having undertaken a state jurisdictional ambulance service graduate program and meeting the eligibility requirements of a state jurisdictional ambulance service’s authority to practice as a paramedic.
• Capacity to successfully undertake clinical practice-based training and recertification programs and maintain contemporary knowledge and skill levels within approved clinical proactive guidelines.

The Role

The Clinical Coach will assist nurses by supporting a culture of learning with a focus on ward-based clinical teaching and training while promoting a supportive work environment. The Clinical Coach works collaboratively in assisting and supporting the Nurse Unit Manager fulfil the Clinical Coach portfolio, with active involvement in clinical education, clinical leadership and management; safety and quality; and practice development. The Team

The Complex Care team is an integral, highly valued tea of multi-disciplinary allied health professionals, applying a collaborative transdisciplinary approach to achieve innovative solutions to complex issues surrounding patients.

Everyone has a different definition of complexity, but for our team, complexity is very much about exceptional circumstances that are above and beyond usual practice for the health care teams working directly with the patient. This means that multi-medical or psycho-social presentations are not routinely considered complex by Complex Care.

Often our patients will have no clear hospital care pathways or sustainable discharge options back into the community, and many systems and services are involved that can lead to fragmentation of care and poor patient experience. The CCC team works with the patient, their supports, and the healthcare team to identify and coordinate care pathways, support patient flow, resolve barriers to discharge, avoid re-presentation to hospitals, reduce the burden of system pathway-finding on health care teams, and promote partnerships with patients and successful working relationships with the healthcare team.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced allied health professional to join our team based predominately in the rehabilitation service at Launceston General Hospital, to work alongside nursing, medical and allied health teams, and in close collaboration with external service providers, to support the right place right care patient journey and quality outcomes for our patients.

The successful applicant will provide expert clinical advice on care management and systems pathways, complex discharge planning and hospital avoidance for patients with exceptional needs.

You will need

• To be an experienced clinician who can confidently lead complex patient journeys, support high-risk discharge planning, and influence outcomes across multiple services, agencies, and stakeholders to achieve safe and sustainable patient pathways.

The Role

The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Allied Health Professional will:

• Undertake the delivery of quality care to clients of the Adult Community Mental Health Service based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
• Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service and their families or carers.
• Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies about the support and management of clients with mental health needs.

You will need

• A minimum of two years post graduate employment in a clinical area directly applicable to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service area.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and understanding of mental health in relation to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service area including the ability to provide appropriate assessment of mental health problems.
• Demonstrated expertise in the theoretical and practical application of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community and Older Persons Mental Health Service area with the ability to acquire further expertise into the future.
• Experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills in relation to liaison and consultation with other services and agencies in the context of optimising effective and efficient service provision, advice and training and continuity of care.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to effectively function in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to develop and participate in ongoing quality assurance activities, research and student education.
• An understanding of relevant legislation and professional practice standards including Work Health and Safety Legislation, Workplace Diversity Guidelines, the Mental Health Act and Discipline Codes of Ethics and Professional Practice.
• A demonstrated understanding of and personal commitment to the principles of clinical supervision.

The Team We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist - General Medicine to work for the Department of Health (DoH) across the North West region. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the DoH North West, has major sites located approximately 50km apart, the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH). The Department of Health – North West provides both acute and sub-acute general medicine, and a range of medical sub-specialty services including a large outpatient service. The department of Medicine has a team of general medicine physicians across the region currently providing general medicine services. The physicians have subspecialties/interests in Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Respiratory, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care. The Department of Medicine holds accreditation with RACP which includes accreditation for basic and advance physician training in general medicine. The NWRH is an accredited site for level 1 basic physician training, and the MCH an accredited secondment site for NWRH physician trainees. Both NWRH and MCH are accredited for advance training in general medicine. In addition, NWRH and MCH have supported RACP with the successful peer reviews of overseas trained physicians (general medicine and various sub-specialties).

The Role This position will be attractive to highly skilled and motivated medical professionals who view challenges as opportunities and is driven by a passion to improve healthcare in the complex world of modern health systems. The right applicants will play a key role in developing health care at both patient and system levels. The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. As such, you will be responsible for providing leadership and help with the delivery of the Undergraduate general medical education program. The Role

The Role

This is an exciting time to join our team as we expand our service with the development of a second state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. This significant investment will increase our capacity to deliver life-changing cardiac care and support the future healthcare needs of our community.

Our specialised team delivers a broad range of diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures, including coronary angiography, PCI, electrophysiology, cardiac device implantation and structural heart interventions. Supported by a 24-hour emergency and Code STEMI service, you'll work alongside cardiologists, cardiac technicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals committed to excellence in patient care.

The Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab, you'll provide specialised nursing care across all stages of cardiac procedures, from patient assessment and preparation through to procedural support and recovery.

Working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, you'll undertake Cath Lab roles including scrub, scout/circulating and procedural sedation support, while contributing to safe, efficient and patient-centred care. You'll also participate in emergency cardiac response pathways and on-call services as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

The Position

The Cath Lab Nurse is responsible for:

• Delivering nursing care across the pre‑procedural, intra‑procedural, and post‑procedural phases of cardiac investigations and interventions.
• Performing Cath Lab roles including scrub nursing, circulating/scout duties, and nurse‑led procedural sedation, within scope of practice.
• Supporting a broad range of procedures, including diagnostic coronary angiography, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology studies, cardiac device implantation, and structural heart procedures.
• Monitoring haemodynamic status and responding promptly to clinical deterioration or procedural complications.
• Maintaining compliance with infection prevention, sterile technique, radiation safety, and clinical governance standards.
• Contributing to efficient workflow, case management, and optimal use of Cath Lab resources.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to support safe and coordinated care.
• Regularly participates in emergency and on‑call services as required, including time‑critical cardiac response pathways.
• Contributing to education, quality improvement, and service development activities within the Cath Lab.

You will need

• A minimum of three (3) years clinical experience working in cardiology or a comparable acute care setting (e.g. coronary care, intensive care, emergency department, or other high acuity clinical environments).
• A minimum of five (5) years post graduate nursing experience, demonstrating progressive development of clinical knowledge, skills, and critical thinking.
• Demonstrated experience in the assessment, monitoring, and management of acutely unwell and clinically deteriorating patients.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in fast paced clinical environments is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

• ECG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition.
• Advanced haemodynamic monitoring skills.
• Experience in Cath Lab, interventional cardiology or other procedural environments.
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and nurse-led procedural sedation.
• Current or working towards BLS and ALS certification.
• Competency in peripheral IV cannulation.

The Team

Occupational Therapy Services at Hospitals North West provide high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy to inpatients, outpatients and community clients across the North West region of Tasmania.

The team works as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, supporting consumers across medical, surgical, rehabilitation and orthopaedic services, as well as paediatrics and community-based programs. The Role

This role would suit a new graduate or an experienced Occupational Therapist, offering a supported development program within Occupational Therapy Services. You will have the opportunity to rotate across a range of service areas, building clinical capability through a diverse caseload and a strong community focus.

The position offers structured supervision and professional support, making it ideal for clinicians early in their career, while also providing scope for experienced therapists to further develop and diversify their skills.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for inpatients, outpatients and community clients across a rotating caseload
• Work collaboratively with senior occupational therapists and multidisciplinary team members to achieve positive client outcomes
• Participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives and service planning activities in line with departmental priorities

This position offers structured support and supervision, making it well suited to clinicians early in their career, while also providing scope for experienced therapists to further develop and diversify their skills.

You will need

• A commitment to delivering person-centred, safe and culturally responsive care
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or a strong foundation in, contemporary Occupational Therapy theory and the ability to apply this in hospital, outpatient and community settings

This role is responsible for the effective management of human, financial and physical resources, monitoring ward performance, driving quality improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence, learning and innovation. You will work collaboratively with the Nursing Director - Medicine, Clinical Lead Medicine and key stakeholders to support service delivery, patient outcomes and workforce capability.

You will need

• Extensive clinical knowledge and experience relevant to acute medical, geriatric and/or palliative care services, together with an understanding of contemporary clinical governance and quality improvement principles.

The Role
