The Position

Manage the postgraduate medical education and training program and prevocational workforce within the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and ensure that this is in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Medical Council (AMC) through the Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT). This includes liaison with specialist colleges and the University of Tasmania.

Provide guidance and support to the junior medical workforce of Launceston General Hospital.

Facilitate training and education sessions in accordance with Accreditation Standards.

Liaise with the Post Graduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania to deliver a fostering environment and pathway for junior doctors.

This ICU is accredited as a C12 unit under the CICM training program, with endorsements for General, Rural, and Paediatric training. The ICU provides critical care for both adult and paediatric patients, managing complex cases and transporting patients within Hawkes Bay and to tertiary referral centres. You'll have opportunities to be involved in rotary wing and road transfers.

Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary-level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. Although they don't provide cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, they are supported by a strong regional ICU team, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. The Position

Our client is looking for Junior or Senior Registrars (Registrar year 1 to 6) for a 12 month contract, to start February 2026.

You will be working alongside accredited Registrars and gain broad exposure across the full spectrum of cardiology presentations and procedures. You will support junior medical staff and work 86 hours per fortnight which will include rotating weekend and on-call roster.

The Location

The health service is located in Victoria state with access to a major metropolitan region.

Essential Criteria

In order to qualify you must

- be eligible for registration with AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway (we cannot accept Standard Pathway candidates)

- have at least 3 years post graduate experience (PGY4 upwards on start) in a Comparable Health System

• A Level 4 Obstetrics unit with approximately 430 births annually
• A Level 3 Special Care Nursery
• Around 650 general paediatric admissions per year
• Over 16,000 ED presentations, with around 25% being paediatric cases

You'll work alongside up to four Consultant Paediatricians, a Paediatric Registrar (Advanced Trainee), and a HMO, with strong links to regional referral services.

To be considered, you must:
