We provide safe and equitable care, for every stage of life, delivered with world-leading expertise and over 175 years of experience. Our team of 24,000 people are full hearted, open minded and all in. Together, we provide more than 250 integrated services for every stage of life at over 50 locations and in the community across south-east Melbourne, Victoria, serving 1.2 million residents in the South Metro Local Health Service Network.
To see first-hand what our colleagues think about working here, take a look at the following short videos monashhealth.org/careers.
About SECASA
The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) is a specialist service within Monash Health, supporting people affected by sexual assault and family violence across Melbourne's south-east and the Mornington Peninsula. Our dedicated multidisciplinary teams provide counselling, advocacy, therapeutic support, education and specialist services to victim survivors, their families and communities.
Behind every great clinical team is an equally important administration team, helping ensure our services are welcoming, accessible, responsive and running smoothly.
That's where you come in.
About the Role
Are you a people-focused leader who thrives on bringing teams together, supporting others and making things work better?
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Operational Administration Team Leader to lead and support our SECASA Administration Team across multiple service locations. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, not only through the smooth running of our services, but through the people you lead, develop and inspire.
Our Administration Team plays an essential role in the delivery of SECASA services. Often the first point of contact for victim survivors, families, clinicians and partner agencies, they help create a welcoming, respectful and supportive experience for people accessing care. As their Team Leader, you'll provide the guidance, encouragement and operational leadership they need to succeed.
Working closely with the Manager – Operations and broader SECASA leadership team, you'll balance day-to-day operational priorities with a strong focus on staff wellbeing, team development and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach and support a team of administration professionals across multiple SECASA locations.
- Create a positive, inclusive and collaborative team culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered.
- Coordinate daily administration operations, ensuring consistent, efficient and trauma-informed service delivery.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in navigating operational challenges and competing priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall experience for clients and staff.
- Build strong working relationships with clinicians, managers and key stakeholders.
- Promote a safe, supportive and accountable workplace while contributing to broader service improvement initiatives.
About You
You're the kind of leader who knows that a great team doesn't just happen – it's built through trust, encouragement, communication and genuine support. You enjoy bringing people together, finding solutions and creating an environment where everyone feels confident to contribute their best.
You're approachable, organised and comfortable balancing the needs of your team with the demands of a busy, multi-site service. When challenges arise, you're someone who remains calm, listens, takes initiative and works collaboratively to find a way forward.
Most importantly, you recognise the value of administration professionals and the important role they play in supporting the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care. To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience leading, motivating and developing administration teams, ideally within healthcare, community health or human services.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, mentor and support staff through change.
- Experience coordinating workforce activities including rostering, recruitment, onboarding and performance development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and approachable leadership style.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with confidence managing competing priorities across multiple locations.
- A passion for improving processes, strengthening team culture and delivering high-quality services.
- Sound understanding of workplace safety, risk management and operational compliance.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, administration systems and workforce or reporting tools.
A relevant qualification in Business Administration, Leadership and Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience, is required. Experience working in a trauma-informed environment, particularly within sexual assault, family violence or community health services, will be highly regarded.
Why Join Us?
At SECASA, we know that delivering exceptional care takes more than clinical expertise. It takes dedicated people working together, supporting one another and ensuring every part of our service operates with compassion, professionalism and purpose. As our Operational Administration Team Leader, you'll have the opportunity to create a workplace where people feel connected, appreciated and proud of the contribution they make.
Here's what makes this opportunity special:
- Lead with purpose – support the team that helps people access vital specialist services during some of life's most challenging moments.
- Make a difference through your people – mentor, develop and empower administration professionals to grow in confidence and capability.
- Be part of something meaningful – work alongside passionate colleagues committed to supporting victim survivors and strengthening our communities.
- Have a voice in shaping the service – contribute ideas, improve processes and influence how administration services are delivered.
- Feel supported in your own growth – be part of an inclusive, collaborative leadership team that values professional development, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
You'll also have access to Monash Health employee benefits and professional development opportunities. If you're ready to lead a team where your support, ideas and leadership can make a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
For a confidential discussion and to explore this opportunity further, please reach out to Catherine Bryant, Manager - Operations, SECASA, on 0409 960 081.
Position Description can be found here.
