Monash Health View all jobs

Reference: 2428401
Monash Health exists to reimagine care, so that people can live their best lives.
We provide safe and equitable care, for every stage of life, delivered with world-leading expertise and over 175 years of experience. Our team of 24,000 people are full hearted, open minded and all in. Together, we provide more than 250 integrated services for every stage of life at over 50 locations and in the community across south-east Melbourne, Victoria, serving 1.2 million residents in the South Metro Local Health Service Network.
To see first-hand what our colleagues think about working here, take a look at the following short videos monashhealth.org/careers.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior clinician to step into the Team Manager role within the CASEA program, part of Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.
Based at the Atherton Hub in Oakleigh, this is a permanent part-time position (0.8 EFT) where you’ll have the opportunity to lead a skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape a service that supports children, families and the communities around them. CASEA works at the intersection of mental health and education, partnering with schools and education services to identify concerns early, strengthen the supports around children and families, and improve access to appropriate mental health care.
As Team Manager, you’ll provide both clinical and operational leadership, creating an environment where clinicians feel supported to do their best work. You’ll provide supervision, mentoring and clinical guidance, foster a collaborative and cohesive team culture, and support the continued development and delivery of evidence-based care.
A key part of this role is building strong partnerships across three different service systems – Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, the Department of Education and Catholic education. You’ll help bring these systems together around a shared purpose: supporting children earlier and strengthening the people and environments around them.
Your role will include:
- leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians
- providing clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and opportunities for professional growth
- fostering a positive, collaborative and connected team culture
- working in partnership with education services to support children, parents and school communities
- overseeing assessment, group interventions and therapeutic support for children and families
- strengthening relationships between mental health, education and community services
- supporting consultation, education and training for education staff
- contributing to evidence-based practice, service development, research and evaluation
- ensuring high-quality service delivery and achievement of clinical and operational outcomes.
This is an opportunity to combine your clinical expertise, leadership and passion for early intervention in a role where your impact extends beyond an individual child or family – to the clinicians you lead, the schools you partner with and the broader systems supporting children’s mental health.
This opportunity is open to suitably qualified clinicians from the following disciplines:
- Psychologist Grade 4
- Occupational Therapist Grade 5
- Social Worker Grade 5
- Speech Pathologist Grade 5
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 5.
About the Department/Program
The Monash Health CAMHS and Schools Early Action (CASEA) Program is a joint initiative of Infant, CHild and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS), the Department of Health, Department of Early Education and Childhood Development (DEECD) and Catholic Education Office of Melbourne (CEOM). Designed as an early intervention program, the CASEA program is conducted in school settings with children identified as being at risk of developing serious behaviour problems including Conduct Disorder. The focus of the program is to up skill teachers in child and parenting group programs that they will deliver in partnership with CASEA staff.
About You
You’re an experienced mental health clinician and leader who is passionate about creating the conditions for children, families and clinicians to thrive.
You bring strong clinical expertise in infant, child and youth mental health, alongside the confidence to lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team. You understand that great leadership is not just about overseeing service delivery – it’s about building a positive team culture, supporting clinicians through complexity and creating an environment where people feel valued, connected and confident in the work they do.
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within mental health or a related clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of infant, child and youth mental health, including assessment, risk and evidence-based practice
- The ability to mentor, supervise and support clinicians to grow their capability and confidence
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to bring people together around shared goals
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across health, education and community services
- Confidence navigating complex clinical, operational and stakeholder matters
- A commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice and high-quality care.
You’ll be someone who values early intervention and working beyond traditional service boundaries, recognising the important role families, schools and communities play in supporting a child’s mental health and wellbeing. Most importantly, you’ll be a leader who wants to make a difference – for the children and families CASEA supports, and for the clinicians you lead.

This role involves a combination of in-person and telehealth service delivery, with occasional travel to other Monash Health and LGBTQIA+ service locations.
About You

Drawing on your own experiences as a trans, gender diverse or non-binary person, you are passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces where people feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health, wellbeing and future.
You are someone who builds meaningful connections, listens without judgement and understands that everyone's journey is different. You enjoy supporting others to find their voice, navigate challenges and access the services and support that are right for them.
As an experienced Peer Worker, you are confident sharing your lived experience with purpose, supporting others in their recovery and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment. To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Lived experience as a trans, gender diverse or non-binary person, with an understanding of navigating gender affirmation services.
- Experience working in a designated peer worker or lived experience role within health or community services.
- A strong understanding of Intentional Peer Support principles and recovery-oriented practice.
- A genuine passion for advocacy, inclusion and empowering others.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting, respectful relationships.
- Confidence supporting people to navigate services, understand their options and advocate for their needs.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Essential requirements:
- Completion of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training.
- A minimum of two years' experience working in a designated lived experience role.
- Working towards a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or a similar qualification is desirable.
Why Join Us?
Because your lived experience matters, your voice deserves to be heard, and the difference you make can be life-changing.
At Monash Health's Gender Clinic, you'll be part of a passionate, inclusive and supportive team that genuinely values the knowledge, insight and perspective that lived experience brings. This is more than an opportunity to provide peer support. It's a chance to help create a service where trans, gender diverse and non-binary people feel seen, respected and empowered throughout their individual journeys.
You'll have the opportunity to strengthen peer support practices, mentor and inspire other peer workers, and contribute to meaningful improvements in how we deliver care. When you join us, you'll enjoy:

As part of SECASA’s central access point, you’ll often be one of the first points of contact, supporting people as they connect with the service. It is varied, meaningful work where strong clinical judgement, compassion and collaboration come together.
About You

You bring sound foundational assessment and counselling skills and understand the importance of creating a safe, respectful and person-centred experience for people who may be seeking support at an incredibly difficult time.

- Can build rapport and communicate sensitively with clients, families and professionals
- Are comfortable working in a responsive environment where priorities can change quickly
- Work confidently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Value reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development
- Are organised, adaptable and able to approach complex situations with professionalism and care
