Transform lives, every single day
Want to make a difference that enriches lives and strengthens communities? At Anglicare Sydney, you can. And together, we will.
We’re a well-respected not-for-profit that’s been serving society’s most vulnerable for 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for the 40,000+ people who rely on our person-centred support.
As a Registered Nurse, your contributions will make a meaningful difference in so many lives, in so many ways. In return for your dedication and care, you will find rewarding career opportunities, genuine support, and the balance you need to thrive in all areas of your life.
Your opportunity
As a Registered Nurse working Thursday and Friday 0630-1430, you will provide safe, compassionate clinical care for residents with diverse and complex needs. You will work closely with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team to identify changes early and support each resident’s quality of life
With empathy and resilience, you will:
- Assess residents and develop, implement and review individual care plans
- Administer medications and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Recognise and escalate resident deterioration, incidents and near misses
- Apply infection prevention and control practices, including outbreak precautions
- Support care team members to deliver safe, person-centred care
What you’ll bring
You’re an empathetic, respectful and resilient person who genuinely seeks to promote the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of older people. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and embed them in everything you do.
What’s required:
- Availability to work Thursday and Friday 0630-1430
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Nursing or an equivalent recognised qualification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
- Sound knowledge of nursing principles, safe resident care and clinical escalation
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
What's preferred:
- Current first aid certification
Clinical knowledge
You understand how to recognise and respond to changes in a resident’s condition, including reduced oral intake, dehydration, weight loss, confusion or delirium, falls risk, reduced mobility, skin concerns and pressure injury risk.
You also understand the importance of monitoring and preventing issues included in the National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program, such as falls, pressure injuries, unplanned weight loss, medication-related harm, infections, restrictive practices and changes in resident wellbeing.
Experience and development
Aged care or other relevant clinical experience is valued but not essential. We welcome nurses who bring a fresh perspective, a willingness to learn and a positive approach. You will be supported to build your knowledge and confidence within residential aged care.
Casual availability
For casual roles, flexibility is important. You should be available across a range of shifts and willing to assist at short notice occasionally when unexpected staffing needs arise.
Why Anglicare Sydney?
- Salary packaging of up to $15,900 of your income for permanent employees
- Additional salary packaging for meals and entertainment for eligible permanent employees
- Ongoing training and career development
- Discounts with more than 400 retailers
- Employee Assistance Program and Fitness Passport
Are you ready for a career that means more?
To apply for this role, please click the ‘Apply’ button or submit your resumé and a cover letter via our application portal.
When you apply, you will be invited to a short interview via Chat. After completing this interview, you will then be invited to a short video interview where you will be asked three scenario-based questions relating to your experience and insights on personal care. You will be able to record your answers from the comfort of your own home via mobile phone or laptop/computer.
Anglicare Sydney is as wonderfully diverse as the customers and communities we support. While we are guided by our Christian-based values, our team includes people of all faiths and backgrounds who share our commitment to serving others, and we value the diverse perspectives they bring. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people of all ages, genders, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
