About the Role:
You will provide essential catering, cleaning and housekeeping services that support the smooth operation of the health service. You may also assist with food preparation and delivery, laundry duties, and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.
About You:
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to customer service.
- Flexible, reliable and able to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Experience or knowledge in catering, cleaning, housekeeping or laundry services is desirable.
- Understanding of food safety, infection control and workplace health and safety principles.

As part of the Flinders Ranges Multi-Purpose Service (MPS), we provide accident and emergency care, general and surgical services, and residential aged care. Our dedicated team plays an integral role in supporting the health and wellbeing of residents - offering companionship, encouraging independence, and maintaining vital connections with family, friends, and the local community to enrich quality of life. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Quorn
About the Role:
As a Direct Care Worker (Residential), you will provide direct care and support to residents within a Residential Care Home, assisting with daily living activities and promoting comfort, dignity and wellbeing. Working under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will collaborate closely with health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will support residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, toileting and mobility, as well as assist with transfers, communication aids, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. You will contribute to client care by assisting with routine treatments, supporting the self-administration of medication on medical authority, and providing input into client assessments, including care for residents with specific needs.
About You:
- Experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
- Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Knowledge and commitment to customer service principles.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act and Risk Management principles.
Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)

About You:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
