An exciting opportunity has become available to join Your Nursing Agency (YNA) as our Operations Manager - South Australia, following the internal promotion of our current Operations Manager.
Based full-time at our Fullarton office, this is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day performance of our South Australian operations, including leading our Allocations team, supporting our healthcare workforce and building strong relationships with our hospital, aged care and other healthcare clients.
We are looking for an experienced commercially strong operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can balance strong people leadership with commercial decision-making, and understands what it takes to deliver a responsive and reliable healthcare workforce service.
A clinical background, particularly as a Registered Nurse, would be highly regarded but is not essential.
About YNA and Torrens HealthYNA has been connecting nurses and carers with healthcare providers since 1970 and today is one of Australia's longest-standing nursing and care agencies.
YNA is part of Torrens Health, a 100% Australian owned and operated group of healthcare, aged care and disability businesses.
Each Torrens Health brand is a specialist in its own field, with its own identity and expertise. Behind those brands sits the scale and infrastructure of the broader Group - bringing together workforce managed services, technology, shared services and governance to support each business to do what it does best.
For YNA, this means our operational teams are backed by established specialist functions across Clinical, Recruitment, People & Culture, Quality & Compliance, Work Health & Safety, Finance, Marketing, Technology and Data.
As Operations Manager, you have the opportunity to focus on leading our people, clients and operational performance while having the expertise, systems and resources of the broader Torrens Health Group behind you.
About the roleReporting to the Executive General Manager - Agency, you will lead the operational delivery of YNA's South Australian business, with a particular focus on our Allocations function - the fast-paced team responsible for matching qualified healthcare professionals with client requirements around the clock.
This is a hands on leadership role. You will support your team across acute and residential aged care to maximise our fill rates, build strong relationships with clients and maintain a clear focus on both service delivery and commercial performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the SA Allocations team, building a high performing, responsive and accountable service culture
- Overseeing day to day workforce allocation and service delivery across South Australia
- Monitoring demand, fill rates, workforce availability and operational performance
- Bringing a strong commercial mindset to the operation, understanding the impact of workforce utilisation, client demand, service delivery and operational decisions on business performance
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, including hospitals, health services, aged care facilities and other healthcare providers
- Developing a strong understanding of our clients' workforce requirements and identifying opportunities to strengthen and grow these partnerships
- Managing operational escalations and ensuring issues are addressed promptly, professionally and with the right people involved
- Coordinating the operational response to incidents and working alongside our Clinical, Quality & Compliance, People & Culture and WHS specialists where required
- Partnering closely with Recruitment to ensure workforce supply and recruitment priorities align with current and anticipated client demand
- Using operational data, trends and insights to inform decisions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Identifying ways to improve systems, processes, efficiency and the experience of both our clients and healthcare workforce
- Working collaboratively across YNA and the broader Torrens Health Group to achieve operational and business priorities
- Providing visible, hands on leadership and supporting the team through the changing priorities that come with a 24/7 healthcare workforce business.
You are an experienced people and operations leader who is comfortable making decisions in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.
Importantly, you will bring a commercial lens to operational leadership while understanding that strong relationships, reliable service and quality outcomes are fundamental to long term success.
You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading an operational, workforce, rostering, allocations or call centre environment
- Strong people leadership skills and the ability to build an engaged, accountable and high performing team
- A commercial mindset and the ability to connect operational activity with broader business performance
- Strong relationship management skills and confidence working directly with clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience managing complex issues, incidents and operational escalations
- Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and solutions focused under pressure
- Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills
- Experience within healthcare, aged care, staffing, workforce management or another fast paced service environment
- A clinical background is desirable, with Registered Nurse registration particularly well regarded.
This is an opportunity to lead a significant South Australian operation within an established healthcare agency, while having the scale and stability of the broader Torrens Health Group behind you.
YNA is backed by a national workforce of healthcare professionals, our own workforce technology and specialist shared services and governance capability.
You will have the autonomy to lead your operation, develop your team and build meaningful partnerships with our clients, without having to do it alone.
You will also become part of a broader Australian healthcare group spanning around 15 businesses across healthcare, aged care, disability, workforce and related services - creating opportunities to collaborate, develop and grow your career across the Group.
This is a full time position based at our Fullarton office in South Australia.
If you are a strong operational leader who combines people leadership, commercial thinking and a commitment to reliable healthcare service delivery, we would love to hear from you.
