Key Responsibilities:
Conducting examinations and questioning patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses and recording patients' medical information
Ordering laboratory test, X-Rays and other diagnostics procedures and interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis
Providing overall care for patients and prescribing and administering treatments, medications and other remedial measures
Monitoring patient progress and response to treatments
Advising on diet, exercise and other habits that aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders
Referring patients to and exchanging medical information with specialist medical practitioners
Reporting births, deaths and notifiable diseases to government authorities
Arranging the admission of patients to hospitals when necessary
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience as a GP
Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

About the Role

Essential:
Vocationally Registered General Practitioner (FRACGP or equivalent)

Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Paediatric Unit
Location: North West Tasmania
Position Type: Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible *hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation contribution.

The Position
The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Mental Health Acute Paediatric Unit, will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering person centred, recovery orientated and trauma informed care, in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an experienced nurse who, within the defined area of practice, works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager and the Paediatric Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care on a designated shift, based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.

- Deliver acute inpatient-based mental health care coordination to paediatric consumers of the service, which includes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, active, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using arrange of modalities and techniques, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), with focus collaboration with family and carers and trauma informed care.
- Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies and procedures are met to promote a consumer-focused model of care, according to best practice principles.
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager and the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the management and coordination of resources as required.

The Youth Hospital in the Home (Y‑HiTH) team is part of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in North‑West Tasmania. The Position

Be part of a multidisciplinary youth mental health service (16-25 years of age) delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
You will need to:
- Provide clinical expertise in contemporary nursing practice within the Y-HiTH setting, promoting professional standards of practice and an environment conducive to innovation and change that promotes best practice and meets established accreditation standards of practice.

This position is a permanent role for experienced Mental Health Nurses.
- Provide appropriate mental health support ,care, treatment and interventions to patients
- Observe & assess the mental, emotional, physical needs of patients including the identification of "at risk" patients and record with appropriate and accurate documentation.
- Care plan and discharge planning implementation
- Display nursing skills that will be effective in alleviating patients distress which can manifest in challenging or at risk behavior.

The Position
