You'll take over an established, well-functioning team and a warm handover from the outgoing Team Leader, so you're set up to hit the ground running rather than building from scratch.

- Reporting to and working closely with the practice owners
- SPA-eligible / Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with a minimum of 4-5 years' post-graduate experience (more welcome)
- Prior community or mobile speech pathology experience is essential

- Confident across a mixed caseload (paediatric and/or adult, depending on your strengths)

- Excellent communication and mentoring skills - you genuinely enjoy developing others
- Organised, calm under pressure, and able to keep a team running smoothly
- Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

- Direct access to practice owners for support and clinical discussion
- Genuine autonomy to lead the team in your own style
- Professional development support during the contract

Registrar Trainee - Rural Generalist Single Employer Model Trial
This is a recruitment poolfor the Rural Generalist Single Employer Model Trial with employment contracts beingallocatedto primary care rotations only.
Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 6, 12 or 18 months, starting from August 2027 with the possibility of extension(s).
About the Rural Generalist Single Employer Model (RG SEM) Trial
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is trialling a Rural Generalist Single Employer Model (RG SEM) to support the development of a sustainable rural medical workforce across regional and rural Western Australia.
The RG SEM provides Rural Generalist trainees with the opportunity to remain employed by WACHS while undertaking approved primary care training placements across participating rural and regional communities. By remaining employed by a single health service throughout these placements, trainees benefit from continuity of employment and a more streamlined training experience.
Under the RG SEM, WACHS will employ participating trainees in accordance with the WA Health System - Medical Practitioners - AMA Industrial Agreement 2024. WACHS will be responsible for salary and leave payments and will facilitate placements with participating primary care training providers. Trainees may undertake placements with any approved training provider participating in the trial, subject to approval by both WACHS and their relevant training college.
A key benefit of the RG SEM is the ability for trainees to:
- Remain employed by WACHS throughout approved primary care placements.
- Retain access to accrued leave and employment entitlements.
- Reduce the administrative burden associated with changing employers.
- Benefit from continuity and stability throughout training.
The RG SEM changes employment arrangements only. Participation in the trial will not alter a trainee's college training pathway, training requirements, assessment processes, or progression toward fellowship. Trainees will continue to meet all requirements of their respective training college.
The trial aims to reduce employment barriers, improve workforce stability, and encourage more medical practitioners to undertake and remain in rural and regional training pathways, ultimately supporting improved access to healthcare services for country communities across Western Australia.
About the Pool
The Registrar Trainee - Rural Generalist Single Employer Model (RG SEM) Trial Pool has been established to identify suitable Rural Generalist trainees registered with an approved rural generalist training college as a Rural Generalist trainee, for participation in the SEM Trial.
Successful applicants may be appointed to approved primary care (general practice or Aboriginal Medical Services) training placements and offered employment under the RG SEM for a period of up to 18 months, subject to training requirements and placement availability.
Participation in the pool does not guarantee placement. Suitable applicants will be placed in the pool and may be considered for appointment as primary care training placement opportunities become available.
This is an ongoing recruitment pool that invites expressions of interest from Rural Generalist trainees, with applications accepted and considered at predetermined intervals throughout the year.
Application Rounds
- October 2026
- April 2027
Please note that these dates are indicative only. WACHS reserves the right to amend, postpone, cancel, or introduce additional application rounds at its discretion.
Appointments may be made from this pool until 31 January 2028.
Important Information for Applicants
The RG SEM Trial applies to primary care (general practice or Aboriginal Medical Services) training placements only. Inpatient, emergency department, and other hospital-based rotations are not included under the RG SEM.
Participation in the RG SEM Trial does not replace existing recruitment processes for hospital-based positions. Trainees must continue to apply separately for WACHS hospital, emergency department, and other non-primary care training positions, as recruitment and appointment decisions for these positions remain the responsibility of the employing site.
WACHS reserves the right to amend, vary, suspend, or discontinue the RG SEM Trial at any time. The trial will be subject to ongoing review and evaluation, with modifications implemented as necessary to support service delivery requirements, workforce needs, and continuous improvement.
Applicants must hold General Registration with the Australian Medical Board.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have valid Australian work rights, including visa holders. Applicants must be able to maintain their work rights for the duration of the fixed-term appointment.
WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant's integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
WA Health is committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination in the provision of our service. We embrace diversity and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people with disabilities. WA Health supports flexible working practices within the context of a quality health service. WA Health is committed to a smoke free environment across all buildings, grounds and vehicles.
Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA). Any offer of employment with WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. Senior Forensic Psychiatrist - Gold Coast (Relocation Support)
Pulse Staffing Limited View all jobs
Posted 5 day(s) ago
Reference: 3205788912
Gold Coast - Queensland
- Pulse Mental Health is recruiting on a confidential basis for a public hospital and health service on the Gold Coast, Queensland, for a Consultant Psychiatrist / Staff Specialist to join its Forensic Psychiatry team. This is a permanent, substantive consultant post with one of the region's principal public health providers, based on Australia's most recognisable coastline. Full details of the employing service are provided to shortlisted candidates.
- The role sits within an established forensic mental health program spanning court liaison, custodial/offender mental health in-reach and community forensic follow-up - giving the successful candidate a genuinely varied caseload alongside the clinical and legal complexity that defines forensic practice. Queensland continues to invest significantly in forensic mental health capacity, and this post offers real scope for a senior clinician to shape service delivery, supervise trainees and contribute to state-wide forensic psychiatry developments.
- UK and Irish-trained consultants are strongly encouraged to apply. Psychiatrists holding the MRCPsych (UK) together with a CCT or CCST are eligible for accelerated registration routes with both AHPRA and the RANZCP, and Pulse Psychiatry provides dedicated, hands-on support through this process - see below for full detail.
Department in focus:
- The successful candidate will provide senior forensic psychiatric input across an established forensic mental health program, working within Queensland's Mental Health Act 2016 framework, which governs forensic orders, fitness for trial, unsoundness of mind and classified patient provisions.
- Assessment and treatment of patients referred via the regional Court Liaison Service, including Magistrates Court reports on fitness for trial and mental state at the time of an alleged offence
- Custodial in-reach and offender health psychiatry, including sessions at a correctional facility within the Gold Coast region
- Clinical management of patients on forensic orders and non-custodial supervision orders within the community, working closely with Queensland's Mental Health Court and regional community forensic outreach framework
- Risk assessment, management and treatment planning for consumers with complex offending histories and co-occurring mental illness
- Clinical leadership and supervision of registrars, trainees and multidisciplinary staff (nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy) attached to the forensic team
- Medico-legal report writing and expert evidence for the Mental Health Court, Magistrates and higher courts as required
- Participation in service development, clinical governance, quality improvement and, where relevant, undergraduate/postgraduate teaching linked to the employing
Registration Pathway for UK & Irish Candidates
- Psychiatrists trained in the UK or Ireland holding the MRCPsych (UK) together with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) are eligible for two complementary accelerated routes into Australian practice:
- AHPRA / Medical Board of Australia - Expedited Specialist Pathway (ESP): a streamlined route to specialist medical registration in psychiatry for eligible international specialists, without the standard comparative assessment process required of other applicants
- RANZCP Accelerated Pathway: a parallel fast-track specialist assessment for MRCPsych (UK) holders with CCT/CCST - no interview requirement, reduced documentation, and an assessment turnaround of approximately 9 weeks from a complete application, leading toward FRANZCP following a period of supervised practice
- Pulse Mental Health supports candidates through primary source verification (via the Australian Medical Council), AHPRA registration, RANZCP assessment and the visa/relocation process end-to-end, and can advise on how your specific CCT/CCST and consultant experience map onto these pathway
- Specialist registration in Psychiatry with AHPRA (or eligibility via the Expedited Specialist Pathway / RANZCP Accelerated Pathway for MRCPsych (UK) holders with CCT/CCST)
- FRANZCP, or an internationally recognised specialist psychiatry qualification assessed as comparable (UK CCT, Irish CCST, or equivalent)
- Substantial post-fellowship/post-CCT experience in forensic psychiatry, including court and/or custodial mental health work
- Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, medico-legal report writing and giving evidence in court or tribunal settings
- Experience supervising junior medical staff and contributing to multidisciplinary team leadership
- Eligibility for, or willingness to obtain, relevant Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 authorisations (e.g. Authorised Psychiatrist / Authorised Doctor status) post-appointment
What's on Offer
- Total remuneration package up to AU$550,000 per annum, commensurate with experience - inclusive of base salary, superannuation (up to 12.75% employer contribution) and applicable on-call allowances
- Access to salary packaging, professional development allowance and a structured continuing education/study leave entitlement
- Relocation assistance and support navigating AHPRA registration, RANZCP assessment and Australian work visa requirements for UK and Irish candidates and their families.
- A varied, well-supported forensic caseload spanning court liaison, prison in-reach and community forensic follow-up, rather than a single narrow stream
- Flexible working arrangements and genuine work/life balance, in a health service consistently rated highly for staff satisfaction
- The lifestyle of Australia's premier coastal city, with strong schooling options and an established international medical community used to supporting relocating consultants
Location in Detail
The Gold Coast is Australia's sixth-largest city and one of its most liveable - 57km of coastline, world-renowned surf beaches (Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads, Snapper Rocks) and a hinterland of rainforest national parks (Lamington, Springbrook) within a 45-minute drive of the city centre.
This is a major tertiary teaching hospital and the flagship site of Gold Coast Health, offering strong specialist infrastructure and an active academic partnership with Griffith University's School of Medicine - well suited to a consultant wanting involvement in teaching and research alongside clinical forensic work.
Gold Coast Airport offers direct domestic routes across Australia and international connections via Brisbane (under an hour's drive north), making the region well connected for clinicians relocating from the UK, Ireland or further afield. The area has a large, established expatriate and international medical community, excellent public and private schooling, and a notably lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne for a comparable lifestyle.
Clinically, the forensic footprint spans the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service catchment - including Numinbah Correctional Centre in the Gold Coast hinterland and Magistrates Court liaison across the region - giving the role a genuinely broad and varied forensic case mix within a single, geographically compact health service.
Pulse Mental Health is the dedicated psychiatry division of Pulse Doctors, a UK-based medical staffing agency specialising in consultant-grade physician placement across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Middle East. We've spent years building direct relationships with public health services and consultant psychiatrists internationally, and we know these registration pathways inside out - so whatever stage you're at, we can tell you honestly where you stand.

QA Manager The Role
We ship software fast. We also sit inside real patient consultations. Making those two things coexist safely is your job. You'll own our Quality Management System across Australia and the UK, and lead us to ISO 13485 certification in H1 2027. As our management-appointed Quality delegate and Quality Management Representative, you'll take the QMS to audit-ready and keep it there as we scale. This is a build role, not a maintenance one.
You've seen enough quality systems to know which ones protect patients and which ones just generate paperwork, and you have a clear point of view on the difference. You don't wait for a gap to surface in an audit: you find it, call it out, and fix it. You're at home working alongside engineers who ship fast and clinicians who care about safety above all else, and you build a system that serves both. Fast-moving software doesn't make you nervous, it makes you curious about how to build quality in from day one.
About Us
Every day in Australia, 10 people die from preventable medical errors. Not from incurable diseases, but from misdiagnosis, missed information, and clinicians making decisions under impossible pressure. At the centre of that failure is a doctor spending 40% of their day on paperwork instead of patients. Lyrebird is fixing that.
We turn real clinical conversations into accurate notes, automatically, backed by ambient real time document creation, intelligent document management and clinical workflow automation, native patient data integrations across siloed health systems, and a patient and clinical communications layer. Thousands of clinicians across multiple disciplines use Lyrebird every day in environments where accuracy, safety, and time matter deeply. We're growing fast across Melbourne, the UK, and Asia, and there's a finite window right now to set the standard for clinical AI in Australia before anyone else does.
What you'll do
- Own the path to ISO 13485 certification in H1 2027, from readiness planning through to a successful certification audit
- Take ownership of the Quality Manual and make it something the business actually runs on
- Ensure every process documented in our eQMS has clear accountability for its ongoing maintenance, document control, and governance that stand up to an auditor's scrutiny
- Design and implement post-market surveillance that's fit for purpose for a SaMD product that updates at software speed
- Lead our first Management Review with senior leadership, setting the rhythm for how quality is reported and decided on at the top
- Run internal self-audits ahead of certification, finding the gaps before an external auditor does
- Embed design controls and risk management into how our engineering and clinical teams build, so quality is designed in rather than bolted on
What you'll bring
- Deep experience applying quality and regulatory requirements to medical devices, SaMD or diagnostics inside product development teams
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, and the judgement to interpret them for a software product rather than apply them by rote
- A track record of leading internal or external audits and quality system initiatives through to a clean result
- Experience owning an eQMS end to end: implementation, governance, training, document control and continuous improvement, including the Technical Files, Design History Records and post-market records that live within it
- Experience managing quality across the full product lifecycle, including design and development controls, risk management, post-market activities and regulatory change assessments
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of IEC 62304 and medical device cybersecurity requirements
- Start-up or scale-up experience, where you've had to think laterally to solve complex quality and regulatory problems
- Experience running a QMS across more than one jurisdiction
Every note Lyrebird produces ends up in a patient's record and shapes decisions about their care. The quality system you build is what lets clinicians, regulators and patients trust that, and getting it right is a direct line to safer care for thousands of people.
We're building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive.
