About the role:
Join the dedicated Maternity Services team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital and make a meaningful difference to women, babies and families across our region. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic service, influence the delivery of high-quality, woman-centred care and help shape the future of maternity services. No two days are the same in this rewarding leadership role. You will work closely with midwifery, medical and multidisciplinary teams to support daily operations, workforce planning, clinical safety and service performance. You will provide visible leadership, support and develop staff, respond to emerging priorities and lead improvements that enhance care for women, babies and families.
You won’t be working alone. The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive orientation and supported transition into the role, including introductions to key teams, services and organisational systems. They will be supported by the Director of Nursing and Midwifery, senior nursing and midwifery leaders, and the broader multidisciplinary team.

Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the northern sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), servicing a population of over 180,000 people. As a major rural referral facility, Tamworth Hospital provides a wide range of specialist services, including emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, critical care, mental health, rehabilitation, and outpatient services.

Registered Midwife with current Authority to Practice with APRHA, as well as relevant post grad qualifications in clinical leadership or management and recent post registration clinical experience

About the Opportunity
Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital (GSMH) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As part of the Lower Mid North Coast Sector within Hunter New England Local Health District, GSMH provides a range of acute healthcare services to the Gloucester community in a supportive and collaborative rural healthcare environment. Our facility includes a 14-bed acute ward, a busy Emergency Department, Day Stay Unit, Operating Theatre and Community Health Centre.
This diverse clinical setting offers nurses the opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of acute and emergency presentations while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, compassionate and evidence-based care to patients within the acute ward and/or Emergency Department. Working closely with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistant in Nursing staff, General Practitioners, Visiting Medical Officers and Allied Health professionals, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve positive health outcomes.
This role offers excellent variety, allowing you to develop and maintain a broad clinical skillset while contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services across multiple areas of the facility. You will also be supported by visiting Clinical Nurse Educators and senior clinicians who are committed to helping staff grow and succeed.
About you
You are a motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working in a dynamic healthcare environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
- You are confident working independently while also contributing positively to a team environment.
- Your leadership skills enable you to provide guidance and support to junior Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing, while your excellent communication skills help you build strong relationships with patients, families and colleagues.
- You bring strong organisational skills, sound clinical judgement and a commitment to working respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting is highly regarded, however nurses with a willingness to learn and develop their emergency nursing skills are encouraged to apply.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our brand-new Inpatient Unit, opened in 2026, with modern facilities and a welcoming team environment.
The Inpatient Unit provides care across a diverse range of presentations, including acute medical and surgical care, aged care and palliative care. Working in a small rural team means you will have the opportunity to develop broad clinical skills and provide holistic, person-centred care to patients and their families.
What you'll be doing
As the Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Unit, you will provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care across a diverse patient population.
You will:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient's clinical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and scope of practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and members of the healthcare team.
- Work collaboratively with Visiting Medical Officers and utilise telehealth services to support patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic clinical documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
You will generally work alongside one to two Enrolled Nurses and report to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), with after-hours support provided by the In-Charge.

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Practitioner (nursing or allied health) or tertiary qualifications in Allied Health with relevant eligibility for association membership, with at least 5 years postgraduate experience as a manger or team leader/in a leadership type role.

- Demonstrated understanding of the application of evidence based practice and the principles of continuous quality improvement.

- Demonstrated application of knowledge and expertise in the interface between acute, sub-acute, primary, community and integrated health service delivery across a diverse range of care settings.

About the role:
Manning Maternity Services offers comprehensive, woman-centred care to mothers and babies from 34 weeks of gestation, focusing on those with low to moderate risk factors, as well as post-caesarean section care.
The Maternity Unit is equipped with three birthing rooms, each with an ensuite, assessment room, and a spacious bath designed for use during labour. One of our birthing rooms has just been freshly renovated and provides a calming, nurturing atmosphere for our mothers and babies. Additionally, the unit provides 13 beds for the care of antenatal and postnatal mothers and their babies. It's a very exciting time for Manning Maternity, with a new Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program coming into their service, allowing a greater connection to women and their families in the community. Our dedicated staff are fully supported by the Midwifery Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Educators, and Clinical Midwifery Specialists to ensure the highest standard of care. About the Menindee Health Service
Menindee is beautiful little community on the banks of the Darling River and is surrounded by the spectacular Menindee Lakes. The Menindee Health Service is a busy Primary Health Clinic with an Emergency Department as well. We provide chronic disease, community and primary health care services to the community, as well as facilitating a range of visiting services. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. After hours and on weekends an RN is on call for Ambulance and emergencies with a second Ambulance trained staff member. Ambulance training will be provided.

About the role
Our rural based multipurpose sites are small hospitals and some also contain aged care. Rural nurses work across settings in emergency, acute care, aged care, chronic disease, child health, primary care, mental health, dialysis, palliative, and health promotion. Nurse work in small teams or on their own, supported 24/7 by a world leading virtual care model utilising state of the art telehealth technology. Having Emergency Department nursing experience will be required.
Rural nursing is nurse-led care, so nurses are a key part of the decision-making process for client care and have more influence on healthcare delivery.
Rural nurses are called on to respond to a broader range of emergency and health needs, hence are encouraged and supported to develop skills to work the top of their scope of practice, experiencing far greater autonomy than in larger hospitals.
Rural nursing is extremely rewarding as you build personal relationships with patients and are responsible for holistic care, taking care from start to finish - patients do not get swept away to a specialist ward as occurs in a referral hospital. Working alongside the existing Budyari Gamada services, you'll join a growing mental health workforce committed to delivering safe, therapeutic and evidence-based care within the forensic mental health system.

What you'll be doing
As an Enrolled Nurse, you'll provide high-quality direct nursing care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, supporting patients throughout their treatment and recovery journey. Your contribution will be vital to creating a safe, respectful and therapeutic environment.
Provide direct nursing care and support patients with activities of daily living, emotional wellbeing and independence.
Undertake observations and client assessments, recognise clinical changes and escalate concerns appropriately.
Follow individualised nursing care plans and work within your scope of practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement and positive patient outcomes.
Work collaboratively with the nursing and multidisciplinary team while promoting professional, ethical and culturally respectful care.

About the Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join the Hunter Joint Centre at New Maitland Hospital. This modern unit is located within a state-of-the-art hospital, offering contemporary facilities and advanced health system infrastructure that supports safe, high-quality care and professional practice.
The Hunter Joint Centre is a specialised orthopaedic unit consisting of 12 funded beds, with additional beds utilised to support surge capacity. The unit is staffed by a diverse, inclusive, and highly experienced nursing team with strong backgrounds in both medical and surgical nursing. You will be supported by a skilled team of senior clinicians, including Orthopaedic Specialists, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Allied Health professionals, all working collaboratively to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
You will be joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, and a large allied health workforce. The unit is recognised for delivering excellence in the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) model of care for joint replacement patients. This evidence-based model focuses on optimising recovery through pre-operative education, standardised analgesia, and early mobilisation, enabling reduced length of stay without compromising patient safety or quality of care.
This position reports to the NUM 5A and offers a comprehensive hospital and ward-based orientation program. All new starters are well supported to develop competence and confidence in managing patients under the ERAS protocol, with ongoing access to clinical guidance, education, and professional development opportunities.

About You
