Join SECASA’s Intake & Brief Treatment Team and use your clinical skills to provide timely, trauma-informed support to people impacted by sexual assault, family violence and complex trauma.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Grade 2 Social Worker to join SECASA’s Intake & Brief Treatment Team in a part-time (0.6 EFT), ongoing position.
As part of SECASA’s central access point, you’ll often be one of the first points of contact, supporting people as they connect with the service. Working within a specialist multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide responsive, trauma-informed care to people who have experienced sexual assault and/or family violence, as well as children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours.
Your role will include:
- Completing evidence-based intake, triage and initial assessments
- Providing crisis counselling and brief, evidence-based interventions
- Coordinating sexual assault crisis responses as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Providing information, referral and secondary consultation to professionals and services
- Contributing to community education and professional development activities
- Supporting service improvement, innovation and broader sector reform
This position will be based at the Dandenong Multidisciplinary Centre and participate in the after-hours/on-call Sexual Assault Crisis Response roster in line with service requirements.
About SECASA
The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) provides specialist support to people impacted by sexual assault and family violence across Melbourne’s south-east. The Intake & Brief Treatment Team is the central access point for SECASA’s clinical and therapeutic services. We triage and prioritise incoming referrals, undertake initial assessments, provide information and secondary consultation, and connect people with the support that best meets their needs.
The team also delivers sexual assault crisis responses during business hours, completes assessments relating to Child Protection and DFFH referrals, and provides brief, evidence-based interventions for people requiring timely specialist support.
It is varied, meaningful work where strong clinical judgement, compassion and collaboration come together.
About You
You are a compassionate and reflective clinician who is interested in developing your practice within the specialist sexual assault and family violence sector. You bring sound foundational assessment and counselling skills and understand the importance of creating a safe, respectful and person-centred experience for people who may be seeking support at an incredibly difficult time.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Bring empathy, curiosity and a trauma-informed approach to your clinical practice
- Can build rapport and communicate sensitively with clients, families and professionals
- Are comfortable working in a responsive environment where priorities can change quickly
- Work confidently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Value reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development
- Are organised, adaptable and able to approach complex situations with professionalism and care
You don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters is your willingness to learn, reflect and develop your specialist practice within a supportive and experienced team. Qualification & licence requirements are as per the Supportive Documentaiton below.Â
Why join us?
Joining SECASA means becoming part of a highly specialised service where your work has purpose, your development is supported and you are surrounded by colleagues committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
At Monash Health, you’ll also have access to:
- Professional development and supervision – continue building your specialist clinical skills through learning, education and reflective practice

Together, we provide more than 250 integrated services for every stage of life at over 50 locations and in the community across south-east Melbourne, Victoria, serving 1.2 million residents in the South Metro Local Health Service Network.Â
To see first-hand what our colleagues think about working here, take a look at the following short videos monashhealth.org/careers.
Bring your Occupational Therapy expertise in neurodivergence and child and youth mental health to a highly specialised role where your assessment, formulation and clinical recommendations can make a meaningful difference for young people and their families.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join the Endeavour Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Team within Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS). This ongoing specialist role is 0.2 EFT (1 day per week), and has a strong assessment focus, working with infants, children and young people presenting with complex neurodevelopmental, behavioural and mental health needs.
You will provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment, formulation, recommendations and reports, drawing on your understanding of occupational performance, participation, sensory processing and motor development. Working alongside a multidisciplinary specialist team, you will also have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to specialist neurodevelopmental assessments
- Provide therapeutic assessment and feedback to young people and families
- Provide secondary consultation to clinicians and community agencies
- Share your OT expertise in neurodiversity and mental health across ICYAMHWS
- Contribute to clinical innovation, education and research initiatives.
About the Endeavour Team
The Endeavour Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Team is a specialist assessment and consultation service supporting young people with complex neurological, developmental, behavioural and psychiatric presentations. The team works with young people experiencing neurodivergence including autism, ADHD, intellectual developmental disability, learning, motor and communication disorders, tic disorders and neurological conditions.
Many young people referred to Endeavour also experience co-occurring mental health concerns and complex psychosocial factors, making this an opportunity to work at the intersection of mental health, neurodevelopment and occupational functioning.
About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys complex assessment, collaborative practice and bringing an OT perspective to understanding how a young person participates and functions in everyday life. You will bring:
- experience working in mental health and/or a relevant area such as paediatrics or child and youth services
- demonstrated experience completing high-quality Occupational Therapy assessments with children and young people
- strong clinical reasoning, formulation and report-writing skills
- knowledge and experience in neurodivergence and child and youth mental health
- confidence working independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team
- the ability to provide clear recommendations and advice to young people, families, carers and clinicians
- a commitment to evidence-based practice and maintaining contemporary clinical knowledge.
Experience in specialist neurodevelopmental assessment, or a willingness to develop your skills in assessment approaches such as ADOS or MIGDAS-2, will be highly regarded.
Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to bring your Occupational Therapy expertise to a highly specialised area of child and youth mental health. At Endeavour, you’ll work alongside experienced clinicians who value the distinct contribution OT brings to understanding neurodevelopment, participation and everyday functioning. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your specialist assessment skills, contribute to complex clinical formulation and share your expertise across the broader ICYAMHWS service.
With one ongoing day per week, this role may also complement an existing clinical position while giving you the opportunity to develop further expertise in neurodevelopmental psychiatry.
If you’re passionate about neurodiversity, mental health and helping young people and families better understand their strengths and support needs, we’d love to hear from you.
For a confidential discussion and to explore this opportunity further, please reach out to Angie Jackman, Endeavour Team Manager, on 0418 870 959.
