Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is one of the largest regional hospitals in South Australia, offering 75 beds, including flex beds and a dedicated High Dependency Unit. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, medical and surgical services, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatient clinics. Our Cancer Resource Centre is among the largest in regional SA, featuring six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care, and counselling services - helping patients receive vital treatment close to home. We are also proud to be one of only three regional stroke services in South Australia, delivering specialised stroke treatment 24/7 in partnership with metropolitan stroke units. At Whyalla Hospital, we work closely with community health services and Aboriginal health providers to ensure inclusive, high-quality care for every member of our community. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Whyalla
About the Role:
As a Registered/Clinical Nurse - Operating Theatre, you will provide high-quality nursing care within a dynamic surgical environment, supporting safe and effective patient outcomes. You will also participate in on-call requirements to support the needs of the service.
At the Registered Nurse (RN/M1) level, you will develop from a novice to a proficient practitioner, consolidating your knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and hands-on experience. You will be accountable for your own standards of care and for activities delegated to others.
At the Clinical Nurse (RN/M2C) level, you will build on your experience and/or further study to practise as a competent to proficient clinician. You will take on increased responsibility, including accountability for your own practice, delegated activities, and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. While remaining predominantly clinical, you may also undertake portfolio responsibilities aligned with your career development goals.
About You:
RN/M1
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
RN/M2C
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)

About the Role:
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will support the Registered Nurse/Midwife in delivering person-centred care that aligns with regulatory and statutory requirements. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will contribute to the provision of safe and effective nursing care within the healthcare team. In this role, you will develop your practice from a novice to a proficient Enrolled Nurse while remaining accountable for your own actions and responsibilities in providing nursing care.

About the Role:
As an Administration Officer at Hawker Memorial Hospital, you will provide confidential medical reception and administrative support that ensures the delivery of high-quality services to the hospital, Medical Practitioner, clients and visiting health professionals. Accountable to the Executive Officer/Director of Nursing, you will contribute to the effective management of medical records, admissions and discharges, data collection and information systems, while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
In this varied role, you will deliver professional front-line customer service, coordinate appointments, respond to enquiries, manage financial transactions including Medicare claims and private accounts, and support quality assurance activities. You will also assist with administrative functions such as document preparation, meeting coordination, record management and general office support, playing a vital role in the smooth operation of the Hawker Medical Centre.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clerical/administrative support service, including the maintenance of records and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in office procedures and office equipment (photocopier, printers, facsimile, etc).

About the role

About the Role
We invite you to join our supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team within Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN), as a Rehabilitation Speech Pathologist.
Speech pathologists at YNLHN are rural generalists providing clinical services to adults and children with swallowing and communication difficulties. We provide services through a variety of therapy modes including 1:1, groups, telehealth, and consultative services.
As part of the Rehabilitation Speech team, you will work predominantly using a multi-disciplinary model delivering client centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in communication including speech, language, and fluency, as well as supporting clients to access AAC to meet their communication needs. Paediatric feeding is also a key focus area, working as part of a multi-disciplinary feeding team. We service children aged 0 to 4 years, prior to school entry, and address the health and medical needs of children aged 0 to 18 years.
Working with adults, you will have the opportunity to develop your dysphagia management and adult communication (speech, language, and voice) skills. We work with adults in hospitals, nursing homes and in the community, including palliative care support. We also provide education and training for staff within nursing homes and residential facilities around dysphagia management and IDDSI standards.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Should you be offered a position on our program, you will study CHC33021 - Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing through an approved Registered Training Organisation selected by us. We will offer flexible learning options to ensure that you can achieve your study goals, with additional support provided through the training provider and one of our Educators. You will be fully supported to learn on the job with a team of health care staff to assist you to settle in and provide you guidance as you learn.
Your working arrangements will consist of 4 days at work, with one working day every fortnight that will be specifically allocated for study and completing workplace assessments. Your usual workdays will also be dedicated to practical on-the-job learning within the workplace.

Whilst you consolidate your learning via participation in vocational training, you will:
- Provide high-quality, respectful care and support to residents across diverse aged care settings
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalised care that improves wellbeing

FMC is a beginning to end-of-life tertiary hospital. Emergency and elective care is provided across a full range of complex and specialist areas incorporating medical and surgical services, mental health, obstetric, paediatric and neonatal services as well as rehabilitation and palliative care. FMC is co-located with Flinders University and Flinders Private Hospital.
Noarlunga Hospital and health precinct includes an emergency department, geriatric inpatient services, elective 23 hour and day surgery, short stay medical care, a range of mental health services, medical ambulatory services such as dialysis and an infusion suite and outpatient clinics. More complex care is referred to FMC.
SALHN provides rehabilitation, dementia care and transitional care services at the Repat Health Precinct. Several non-SALHN services are also provided at the Repat Health Precinct. Redevelopment of the Repat Health Precinct is currently in progress and is being led by the Department of Health and Wellbeing. Jamie Larcombe Centre is the state-wide centre for Veteran’s Mental Health located within the Glenside Health Precinct.

Whyalla Hospital is one of three SA regional hospitals that has an Integrated Mental Health Inpatient Unit (IMHIU). Regional Clinical Pharmacists assist in the promotion of safe, rational and cost effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services for hospital patients throughout the region. The services provided are to include but are not limited to completing the medication reconciliation process for admitted hospital patients, dispensing medications to patients, providing drug information to regional nursing and medical staff and making independent decisions on therapeutic strategies to optimize patient care.
The Senior Pharmacists are responsible for delivering safe, effective and high quality care through the provision of virtual clinical pharmacy services for patients throughout WACHS. These services include but are not limited to; virtual pharmacy for inpatients at WACHS sites without on-site pharmacist support, virtual training and upskilling of junior pharmacists in the regions, pharmacist led virtual outpatient clinics in the areas of visiting specialists, pre-admission, day infusions and palliative care. These positions will work closely with the WACHS-wide Pharmacy Services team and regional pharmacy departments to ensure best practice and patient centric care is delivered utilising modern, innovative and technologically advanced services.

About the role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Tissue Viability provides an advanced level wound assessment and management service as an expert in the specialty field and facilitates linkages and relationships with network hospitals (and affiliated services), nurses and medical officers (in the acute and community settings) to support the management of patients with acute, chronic and complex wounds.
The CNC is responsible for the provision of expert clinical advice, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the wound assessment and management service and target populations within the designated network.
Responsibilities include:
- Development, implementation and evaluation of care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Providing leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- Initiating and utilising findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
