The TeamRoyal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital. The Cardiology/ Cardiothoracic Ward is the Level 6 referral centre for these services in the State. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit works closely with the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Unitto focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The RoleWithin a multidisciplinary environment and in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Cardiac Rehabilitation, the Registered Nurse - Cardiac Rehabilitation strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate cardiac rehabilitation nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families/carers and other health professionals.
You will need- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards for Registered Nurses.
- Sound knowledge of, and the ability to acquire, a comprehensive knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation and demonstrated advanced clinical competence in related clinical areas.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Permanent, part-time day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Fixed-term part-time day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately twelve (12) months. notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439-$109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Benefits available to eligible candidates- Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Position details
The Team
The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for this key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic, Hobart, Tasmania. The Clinic has 2 Varian linear accelerators, Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x-ray unit. Radiation Therapy techniques currently in use at the WP Holman Clinic include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & SRT.
The Holman Clinic is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Southern Tasmania.
The Role
The Senior Radiation Therapist will act as Team Leader in charge of a radiation therapy treatment unit or planning section.
They will utilise broad knowledge and advanced skills to resolve novel and complex problems in the radiation therapy
treatment and planning areas.
You will need
- Extensive experience and demonstrated knowledge and skill relating to all areas of contemporary Radiation Oncology
- Ability to work constructively as a team leader with the capacity to direct, guide and support staff.
- Ability to undertake novel and complex radiation therapy work, with a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness.

Details of appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
