Infrastructure Australia is seeking a Manager - Planning and Insights to deliver high-quality, evidence-based research and strategic insights informing infrastructure policy, planning and reform.

Infrastructure Australia (IA) is an independent statutory body within the Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts portfolio.

The general functions of Infrastructure Australia are detailed in the Infrastructure Australia Act 2008 and Corporate Plan. Our mandate establishes us as the Australian Government's independent advisor on nationally significant infrastructure investment planning and project prioritisation.

The Manager - Planning and Insights contributes to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based research and strategic insights that inform infrastructure policy, planning and reform.

Working as a key member of a high-performing team, the role delivers priority projects that support Australian Government objectives, including housing growth, the energy transition and enabling modern and resilient infrastructure networks, while drawing on engagement with government and industry to strengthen team capability, systems and overall impact.

• Undertake high quality research and analysis using qualitative and quantitative evidence from across Australia to generate insights on future infrastructure needs and priorities.
• Lead and contribute to Planning and Insights projects from inception to publication, including scoping, design, delivery, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.
• Design and deliver targeted engagement activities in partnership with the Communications and Engagement team to gather insights, communicate key findings, test implications and support action.
• Manage relationships and contracts with external technical experts to ensure high quality insights are delivered on time and in accordance with agreed requirements.
• As required, contribute analysis, evidence and advice to Infrastructure Australia's major products and statutory outputs, including the Infrastructure Audit, Infrastructure Priority List, Infrastructure Plan, annual Budget Statement and other Australian Government and Parliamentary requirements.
• Support the ongoing development of internal data systems.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking qualitative and quantitative research and analysis using a broad range of evidence sources.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesise evidence, draw meaningful insights and translate findings into clear, practical and high quality products.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building collaborative internal and external relationships and achieving shared outcomes across government, industry, community or research organisations.
• Demonstrated project management capability, including delivering concurrent projects and adapting effectively to changing priorities.
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to communicate concisely and persuasively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to Infrastructure Australia's values of being dynamic, connected and purposeful.
• Relevant experience in policy analysis and advice, gained through similar roles, preferably within infrastructure.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• Experience analysing complex datasets and applying technical analytical methods.
