- Temporary - Part Time, 7.6 hours per week (12-month contract)
Term of the Contract: 3 years (in line with clause 55 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement). At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to assist find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3-year contract, if necessary.

About the Role
Join TQEH's Gastroenterology and Hepatology team as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow, combining specialist clinical care with IBD clinical trials and research. You'll support inpatient and outpatient services, contribute to endoscopy and help develop junior medical staff.
- Deliver high-quality gastroenterology and IBD clinical care
- Coordinate inpatient consultation and specialist outpatient care
- Contribute to gastrointestinal endoscopy within your experience
- Support IBD clinical trials and departmental research
- Supervise and teach resident medical officers and students
About You
You’ll bring sound clinical judgement, strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to specialist gastroenterology care, education and research.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold an MBBS or equivalent degree eligible for AHPRA registration
- Demonstrate clinical skills suited to gastroenterology duties
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues
- Bring experience supervising and supporting medical staff
- Work confidently across multidisciplinary hospital services

About the Opportunity

Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a Permanent Full-Time position, with job share arrangements considered for the right applicants.
Set in a beautiful rural location, Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital provides a welcoming and collaborative environment where nurses, medical officers, allied health professionals, HealthShare staff and security work together to deliver exceptional person-centred care. Our service takes a planned and holistic approach to rehabilitation, supporting patients on their journey from acute care back into the community and helping them regain independence, confidence and quality of life.
What You Will Be Doing
Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient care for up to 16 patients, alongside outpatient and hydrotherapy services. As a Registered Nurse, you will work closely with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to develop and support individual rehabilitation goals. You will provide high-quality nursing care while promoting recovery, independence and positive health outcomes.
You will utilise a broad range of clinical skills including care planning, medication management, wound care, clinical documentation and patient safety initiatives such as falls prevention, pressure injury management and manual handling practices. Working alongside Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing, you will contribute to the day-to-day operation of the unit and provide leadership and coordination of the facility during after-hours shifts. This role requires a confident clinician with sound clinical judgement who can assess, prioritise and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions while working collaboratively with available escalation pathways.
About you
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys working in a collaborative rehabilitation environment where holistic, person-centred care is the priority. You thrive on building meaningful relationships with patients, supporting them through recovery and celebrating their progress.
Our ideal candidate will have recent acute or sub-acute nursing experience within an Australian hospital and be confident working independently. Given there is no onsite after-hours support, you will demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to safely manage patient care and lead the team during after-hours shifts.

Additional Information
* Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. About the role

What you'll be doing
As the Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Unit, you will provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care across a diverse patient population.
You will:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in a patient's clinical condition.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and scope of practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers and members of the healthcare team.
- Work collaboratively with Visiting Medical Officers and utilise telehealth services to support patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic clinical documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
You will generally work alongside one to two Enrolled Nurses and report to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), with after-hours support provided by the In-Charge.

Education: We offer weekly education sessions, facilitated by Dr Martin Duffy (ACEM Educator of the year 2021), including simulation, clinical skills, case reviews, and buddy shifts with FACEM. SRMOs are supported by EMET Lismore Hub providing access to multiple workshops including paediatric emergencies, procedural skills, ultrasound and airway management.
Career Progression: Following your Unaccredited year, you can progress to Emergency Medicine Training at Lismore Base Hospital. LBH is accredited for 36 months of training as a Trainee Stage 1-3, 6 months as Trainee Stage 4 (Lismore ED), and 3 months as Trainee Stage 4 (non-ED Medical Education). Our ED Registrar positions offer opportunities to rotate to ACEM accredited terms in Retrieval, Anaesthetics, ICU, Medical Education and Ultrasound.

Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service. The Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) Emergency Department (ED) sees over 40,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is a regional trauma centre.
The department includes modern facilities such as a 4-bed resuscitation and procedure bay, acute zone, an ED short stay unit (EDSSU), fast tract and medical imaging services.
LBH ED also supports Richmond Network hospitals including Ballina District Hospital (18,000 presentations per annum) and Casino Memorial District Hospital (14,000 presentations per annum), and Multipurpose Centres located at Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville and Bonalbo.
We are an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney and Bond University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers.

What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. The Medical Officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). The Emergency Department manages approximately 22,000 presentations annually and is supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including GP Visiting Medical Officers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, radiographers and support services. Our inpatient units provide general medical and surgical care appropriate to a Level 3 rural hospital, with a strong focus on delivering safe, high-quality and patient-centred care.

What You Will Be Doing
As the After Hours Nurse Manager Level 2, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the operational management of the hospital after hours and during periods when the Health Service Manager is unavailable.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership, coordination and support across the facility after hours.
- Oversee patient flow and bed management to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate staffing resources and respond to operational issues as they arise.
- Support clinical teams in delivering high-quality patient care.
- Manage escalation processes and facilitate timely decision-making.
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health and support services staff.
- Respond to clinical and operational incidents and support effective resolution.
- Promote patient safety, quality care and compliance with NSW Health policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance, support and leadership to staff across the facility.
This role requires strong clinical leadership, sound judgement and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
About You

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

This will involve collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services provided are safe and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Depending on the skills and experience there may be an opportunity to participate in the cardiothoracic anaesthetic service. The Visiting Medical Officer may also be credentialed to provide anaesthesia services to the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Professor Marie Bashir Centre and Sydney Dental Hospital.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.

Our Service and Team
Custodial Mental Health (CMH) is a specialist mental health service within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network that provides a range of mental health services to adults in NSW correctional centres.
CMH includes a specialist mental health team with mental health nurses (MHNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), Aboriginal Mental Health Clinicians, psychiatrists, career medical officers (CMOs), and psychiatry registrars who are supported by administrative and managerial staff.
CMH clinicians work alongside staff from other clinical streams and CSNSW staff, including Psychology, Offender Services and Programs, and Custodial Operations staff in the provision of mental health services. Mental health services begin at the point of reception and continue through to release from custody or transfer to another correctional centre.

The Position

The Position

We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is confident working independently and passionate about advocating for patients.

You'll be someone who:
- Thinks critically and assesses situations with confidence
- Is comfortable as the sole clinician in a patient's home
- Communicates effectively and advocates for high-quality patient care
- Manages competing priorities with strong organisational skills
- A current Australian driver's licence
- A background in Emergency, Critical Care or Hospital in the Home is highly regarded.
