About the service:The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services are a key recommendation from Victoria's Royal Commission into the mental health service system. As such, the services are a key feature of ongoing system transformation. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local services will act as front door to the mental health service system and will provide a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug approach.
At the Melton Local, Mind Australia is the lead agency in a consortium which comprises of Western Health, IPC Health and Thorne Harbour Health. The service delivers integrated care and support that puts the person accessing the service at the very centre of their treatment, support and care coordination using a range of evidence informed approaches. The consortium is committed to embedding lived and living experience within all aspects of the service including program design and evaluation, leadership, service delivery and governance.
About the roleThe Service Operations Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local service in the Greater Melton region. The Service Operations Manager will be responsible and accountable for the operating budget, achieving performance targets and performance management in a complex and demanding service delivery environment.
You will oversees practice and service culture which embeds Lived and Living Experience and Lived Expertise at the centre of all aspects of the service while maintaining the fidelity of the consortiums service model.
Key responsibilities- Lead and manage evidence informed services to consumers, carers, families and supporters as defined in the Service Model across an interprofessional continuum of care, treatment and support which includes psychiatry, clinical interventions, AOD therapies and interventions and a range of holistic wellbeing supports.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local service providers, cultural groups and individuals in the community to ensure bi-directional access.
- Work within a multidisciplinary interprofessional team that puts the person accessing the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local first and maintains the fidelity of the service model placing the voice of lived/living experience at the centre of all aspects of the service.
- Support and provide supervision to the Team Leader-Lived Expertise and ensure the fidelity of peer work discipline and Intentional Peer Support.
- Lead, manage and influence internal stakeholders and consortium partners in a complex service delivery environment.
- Work in partnership with the General Manager to plan, develop and implement service and expenditure budgets to meet requirements.
- Conduct yourself in accordance with the Mind Code of Conduct and Mind policies and procedures which may change from time to time.
- Tertiary degree qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex service delivery environment that is interprofessional and multidisciplinary.
- Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health and/or AOD challenges and their families, carers and supporters.
- Proven experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes.
- A track record in successful relationship development, stakeholder management and strategic partnerships.
- Experience in effective financial management, budget control and reporting.
- High level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines

The Housing with Support program is a service designed for adults living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and co-occurring concerns and/or dual disabilities which have impacted their capacity to live independently in the community.
Participants are supported individually and in a group setting to better understand and develop strategies to manage the impacts of their mental health, enhance personal and daily living skills, create meaningful social and community connections, strengthen relationships with families and friends and build confidence and capacity to live independently.
About the role
We are seeking resourceful and collaborative Psychosocial Disability Support Workers for permanent part time (22.5 hours per week), opportunities located in Wonthaggi. You will deliver personalised support services and work collaboratively with participants to achieve their recovery and capacity building goals through one-to-one support, shared supports, workshops and group work facilitation to enhance recovery, personal growth and activities of daily living.
Key responsibilities
- Work with participants to imagine and live a meaningful life by supporting them through a staged approach to recovery
- Plan and develop group work programs that will assist participants to build their skills, focus on their recovery, wellbeing and capacity building
- Support family and carers through understanding their concerns and the provision of information, education and referrals
- Make linkages and build relationships and referral pathways to maintain or create a range of local supports for participants that facilitate them to live the life of their choosing in their own community
- Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the service through undertaking a range of housekeeping duties
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Peer Work, or other health related field as designated by Mind
- Experience and expertise in working directly with people with psychosocial issues, complex needs and with their families and carers
- Experience in assessing need and working collaboratively to plan goal focused recovery using evidence informed approaches and tools to meet participants' needs.
- Awareness and understanding of the NDIS is required
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and WWCC
- Unrestricted Australian driver's license, and ability to utilise personal vehicle to transport residents as required
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications and ability to perform these duties as required as part of the role

About the ServiceThe Housing with Support program is a service designed for adults living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability and co occurring concerns and/or dual disabilities which have impacted their capacity to live independently in the community.
Participants are supported individually and in a group setting to better understand and develop strategies to manage the impacts of their mental health, enhance personal and daily living skills, create meaningful social and community connections, strengthen relationships with families and friends, and build confidence and capacity to live independently.
About the roleWe are seeking an approachable, mentoring and calm under pressure Site Co ordinator for a part time contract (28.5 hours per week) until June 2027 located in Wonthaggi. You will take a lead role in the day to day management of the site, ensuring Support Workers have the information and direction to undertake the required support at the right time with the participants in line with their support plans across the week.
Key responsibilities- Coach, motivate and provide informal and formal supervision to onsite Psychosocial Disability Support Workers. Facilitate regular team meetings and foster a healthy, positive team culture.
- Maintain effective communication across the team to support smooth shift operations and continuity of care.
- Develop, facilitate, and evaluate group programs that support participants' recovery, wellbeing, skill development, and capacity building.
- Support the Area Manager with site based recruitment and induction of Psychosocial Disability Support Workers.
- Escalate concerns, risks, incidents, or matters to the Area Manager promptly.
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field as designated by Mind.
- Proven experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare or Government sectors is required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability and complex needs, with strong knowledge of the NDIS and the ability to connect participants, families, and carers with appropriate community services and supports.
- Skills and experience in advocacy, collaboration, facilitation, evaluation and problem solving.
- High level organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
