About the Role

Join our team as a Food Services Assistant on a part time, ongoing to work at Kingston Plating Room. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Food Services Manager and working with the broader Support Services team.

FSAs play a vital role in providing high-quality meal services to patients and supporting overall patient nutrition and food safety. FSAs are responsible for the preparation and delivery of meals, cleaning of food service areas, all whilst ensuring patient’s dietary needs are met accurately and efficiently. FSAs contribute to patient care by ensuring meals are delivered on time, safely, accurately and with respect.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Delivering and collecting meal trays and Burlodge trolleys to and from service areas
• Regenerating and preparing meals in line with production and clinical needs, including special functions
• Cleaning and sanitising food trays, food preparation areas, and kitchen equipment
• Operating dishwashers and other food service equipment safely and efficiently
• Restocking pantries and trolleys; whilst maintaining food stock levels as required
• Completing all food safety and cleaning documentation accurately and in a timely manner

We currently have the following opportunity working in Kingston Plating Room working every Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (8 hours per week / 16 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts as they become available, depending on operational needs.

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in food services within a hospital, aged care, or hospitality setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene standards. You have a passion for patient care and nutrition, ensuring patients are treated with respect and empathy. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills; and intermediate computer skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions. It would be an advantage if you also have comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances.

About Oasis

The Oasis Child Neuropsychiatry Inpatient Unit (Oasis) is a purpose-built unit located in Monash Children's Hospital. Oasis provides specialist assessment and care planning for children aged up to 12 years with neurodevelopmental disorders (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disability) and/or who show severe or complex psychiatric, behavioural and developmental symptoms that indicate a need for a short-term inpatient service.

All children admitted to the unit are accompanied by a parent/carer, who remains throughout the admission.

Oasis is a multidisciplinary unit that provides a range of consultation services, brief emergency admissions, and planned assessment admissions. The Monash Children's Stepping Stones Adolescent Inpatient Unit is a 15-bed inpatient and five-transition (day) bed unit that offers care for adolescents aged 12 to 18 from the broader ELMHS. The Adolescent Unit offers mental health interventions to adolescents who present with acute and severe mental health problems and associated high-risk factors, and who have difficulty maintaining their own safety and the safety of others.

About You

You are an experienced Mental Health Clinician with expertise in youth and adolescent mental health, including adolescent mental health nursing and milieu therapy. You have strong communication skills and work effectively with young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

You will collaborate across the Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, provide shift-by-shift leadership within the unit, and contribute to the leadership team at Stepping Stones.

This is a rare opportunity to come in on the ground floor of a brand-new acute mental health service and play a lead role in shaping how it runs. Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MH HITH) is a developing service providing an acute, 10-bed program designed to partner with consumers and carers to deliver inpatient-like care within the home. The model of care has been designed to reflect our inpatient units, bringing that same standard of acute, multidisciplinary care into the community. A multidisciplinary team works a seven-day rotating roster to ensure comprehensive, collaborative and coordinated acute care, as an alternative to hospital admission.

As the team's inaugural Nurse Manager, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping how the service operates. The Casey Adult Mental Health Service (Casey AMHS) provides individualised, consumer centred care for adults aged 18 – 65 years living in the City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia, aiming to improve mental health and wellbeing, Casey AMHS comprises the entire spectrum of care with Emergency Psychiatric Services, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team, PACER, Hospital in the Home team, Inpatient Psychiatric Units (Ward D mental health and E) based at Casey Hospital, CCT (Continuing Care Team) based at Pakenham and Cranbourne, Acute and Extended PARCS, State-wide Transition Support Unit and the Adult Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Initiative.

About the Role

FSAs play a vital role in providing high-quality meal services to patients and supporting overall patient nutrition and food safety. FSAs are responsible for the preparation and delivery of meals, cleaning of food service areas, all whilst ensuring patient’s dietary needs are met accurately and efficiently. FSAs contribute to patient care by ensuring meals are delivered on time, safely, accurately and with respect.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Delivering and collecting meal trays and Burlodge trolleys to and from service areas

• Regenerating and preparing meals in line with production and clinical needs, including special functions

• Cleaning and sanitising food trays, food preparation areas, and kitchen equipment

• Operating dishwashers and other food service equipment safely and efficiently

• Restocking pantries and trolleys; whilst maintaining food stock levels as required

• Completing all food safety and cleaning documentation accurately and in a timely manner

Shift Available

Join our team as a  Food Service Assistant  on a Part time ongoing basis, 45.6 hrs per fortnight. 

This role is designed to cover vacant shifts over Afternoon and evening time periods Monday to Sunday, depending on business requirements. Please note these are not weekly set shifts. 

The role of the Pool –  FSA team member is to cover vacant shift over all three time periods. 

About You

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in food services within a hospital, aged care, or hospitality setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene standards. You have a passion for patient care and nutrition, ensuring patients are treated with respect and empathy. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills; and intermediate computer skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions. It would be an advantage if you also have comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances.

You are also required to hold a HLTFSE001: Follow basic food safety practices or SITXFSA001: Use hygienic practices for food safety.

About Us

McCulloch House is a dedicated centre of excellence in palliative care and oncology, offering symptom management and end-of-life care to inpatients with complex needs—a purpose-built 16-bed palliative care unit supporting approximately 500 patients per year. We aim to assess the needs of patients and their caregivers with symptom management and supportive care.

Located at Monash Medical Centre (Clayton), McCulloch House liaises closely with acute wards and community teams to provide the best evidence-based supportive and palliative care. We also support research and education to improve the knowledge base in this unique area.

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to expand their experience and passion in Palliative Care, working across a rotating roster, 7 days a week. We currently have an Ongoing, Part Time (64 hours per fortnight/0.8EFT) position available.

You will make a difference by supporting patients and working closely with families to provide holistic care in a supportive environment, both autonomously and collaboratively, alongside a wide variety of medical specialties. We work with a commitment to providing patient centred palliative care for people with advanced life limiting illnesses, their families and carers.

We look to build strong rapport and to have confidence in our nursing team providing patient advocacy and preservation of dignity in end of life care or management of their circumstances.

In this Full-Time role, you'll be responsible for assessing and determining applications under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic), reviewing complex records, applying legislative exemptions, and preparing defensible decisions that make a real difference to patients, families and the community.

You will also:

• Assess and determine FOI applications in accordance with relevant legislation and policy
• Review and analyse health records and other documentation for release
• Apply legislative exemptions and disclosure provisions with sound judgement
• Prepare clear, accurate and legally compliant decision letters
• Provide expert advice to clinicians, managers and staff regarding information release obligations
• Manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines within a high-volume environment
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Freedom of Information and Release of Information functions
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including healthcare providers, legal representatives and government agencies. 

About You

We're seeking professionals who bring strong analytical capability, exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to make well-reasoned, defensible decisions.
