Monash Children’s Hospital Allied Health provides specialised, multidisciplinary care to infants, children and families across inpatient, community and specialty services. Our teams work across multiple sites, including Monash Children’s Hospital, Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Early Parenting Centre and Sandringham Hospital.

The Music Therapy team provides services across Monash Health, including paediatric and adult inpatient services and mental health. At Monash Children’s Hospital, Music Therapy supports children and families across a range of settings, including paediatric and neonatal intensive care, special care nurseries, inpatient units, specialty clinics and community-based services.

Working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, Music Therapists provide evidence-based care that considers the physical, psychological, cognitive, emotional and social needs of each child and family.

About the Role

Join our team as a Grade 2 Music Therapist, part time (3 days a week) ongoing, to provide high-quality, evidence-based Music Therapy to children and their families at Monash Children’s Hospital.

While mainly based at Monash Children’s Hospital, there may be times required to travel and work at other Monash Health sites to meet operational needs.

Working under the direction of the Head of Music, Art and Child Life Therapies and alongside experienced clinicians, you will:

• Provide assessment, treatment and care coordination for paediatric patients in individual and group settings.
• Use specialist Music Therapy knowledge and evidence-based interventions to support the health, functioning and wellbeing of children and families.
• Develop collaborative, person-centred care plans in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.

• An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Music Therapy from an approved training course.

About the Department / Program 

Monash Children’s Hospital provides a Child Life Therapy service across paediatrics, including paediatric emergency, diagnostic imagining, pathology and acute inpatients.

Child Life Therapists form part of a dynamic Allied Health team.  You will be joining a friendly and welcoming team of Child Life Therapists with a focus on strength based practice with family-centred care, to support the psychosocial, development and emotional wellbeing needs of patients and their families.

About the Role 

Join our team as a Grade 2 Child Life Therapist on a part time (0.6 EFT, 45.6 hours per fortnight), 8 week fixed term position (27 October- 18 December, 2026), to work at Monash Children’s Hospital based at Clayton.

This position will provide clinical services to infants, children and adolescents, across Monash Children’s Hospital. 

Child Life Therapy aims to reduce the stress and anxiety for children, young people and their families that can be associated with hospitalisation. Child Life Therapists specialise in child development to support and empower children, young people and their families to cope in the healthcare environment through:

• Provision of evidence-based interventions to promote developmental, social and emotional wellbeing
• Delivery of developmentally appropriate procedural preparation and support
• Collaborating with children, families and the healthcare team to identify and implement effective coping strategies
• Providing opportunities for play, including medical play, to support continued development and emotional wellbeing within the hospital environment
• Delivering training and support to healthcare professionals in procedural preparation, distraction techniques, and strategies to promote children’s wellbeing during medical procedures and within healthcare settings.

About the Role

Join our team as a Peer Worker – Mobile Drug Safety Worker (MDSW), on a full time, fixed term basis until June 2027, working in the Drug & Alcohol Services as part of Monash Health. 

This role will sit within the multidisciplinary of the Primary Health Clinic (PHC) and Needle Syringe Program (NSP) which offer the provision of basic health interventions, equipment, information and referral within a harm minimisation framework as it applies to people who use drugs in the Greater Dandenong area. This includes covering/supporting the Springvale area.This work will include basic knowledge of infection control, vein and wound care, HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections. The PHC provides an Opioid Replacement Therapy that the Care and recovery team support in providing assistance to the Addiction Medicine Specialist, Nurse Practitioners and other health care workers and clients of this services.  

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Reduce public health harms associating with injecting drug use
• Draw on their own lived experience of substance use and/or mental ill health and recovery to support others.
• Seek to improve the outcomes of those clients at risk of
• Provide mobile outreach and community engagement to people who use alcohol and other drugs 
• Deliver targeted drug-strategy information, brief interventions and referrals
• Work closely with the Mobile Overdose Response Service worker and Proactive Overdose Response Initiative Peer worker in dealing with overdose and providing harm reduction education and treatment pathways for people who use drugs.  
• Provide reflective discipline-specific supervision to other Lived and Living Experience Workforce employees, and offer guidance and support to Peer Workers on best practice and resolving complex consumer needs.

Peer Workers act as recovery champions, and practice within the Intentional Peer Support (IPS) values of mutual respect, shared experiences and collaboration. They seek to create authentic connections that foster personal growth and healing. As a non-clinical workforce Peer Workers complement the work of clinical staff without undertaking clinical duties.

Team & Program Contributions include:

• Participate in program development and continuous improvement from a consumer perspective.
• Collaborate with service staff and stakeholders; engage in reflective supervision and peer workforce development.
• Contribute to community engagement efforts that reduce stigma and promote community safety.

Monash Women’s is offering an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses to join our maternity service at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton as a Neonatal and Postnatal Support Nurse (NPSN).

The NPSN is a dedicated nursing role introduced to strengthen our model of care for women, newborns and families. Working on our postnatal wards, you will provide nursing care to newborns who require additional clinical support, helping mothers and babies remain together wherever clinically appropriate.

You’ll work alongside experienced midwives, neonatal clinicians and the broader multidisciplinary team – bringing your established nursing skills while developing new capability in neonatal care.

About the Role

As an NPSN, you will provide dedicated nursing care to newborns who require additional monitoring, treatment or support on the postnatal ward.

Your role may include caring for:

• Low birth weight and late preterm babies
• Babies requiring blood glucose monitoring and hypoglycaemia management
• Babies receiving phototherapy
• Babies requiring IV antibiotics
• Newborns requiring additional assessment, observation and clinical care

You will assess and monitor newborns, contribute to individualised care planning, recognise and escalate clinical concerns and work closely with the allocated midwife and neonatal medical team.

A key part of your role will also be supporting and educating parents and families, helping them build confidence in caring for their newborn.

This is a fixed term opportunity until June 2027, commencing in October. We have full time or part time opportunities, across a rotating roster, all shifts including night Duty.

The Monash Health Early Parenting Centre in Clyde provides specialist support to families experiencing challenges with sleep, settling, feeding, bonding and attachment, and parent craft support. The centre offers clinicians the opportunity to work closely with infants, young children, and their families in a supportive, family-centred environment, helping parents build confidence and develop practical strategies to strengthen their parenting skills. About the Role

Join our team as an Early Parenting Practitioner on a part-time (0.8 EFT, 32 hours/week), ongoing basis to work at the Casey Early Parenting Centre, based in Clyde. In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Nurse Unit Manager and working with the broader Casey Early Parenting Centre team.

Working under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or MCH Nurse, you will:

• Work intensively with parents to assist them in realising their parenting goals
• Model and coach parenting skills, helping parents read and respond to their child's cues and explore different types of play
• Support parents in implementing the goals outlined in their care plan
• Apply Department of Health EPC guidance documents, including the Model of Care, Outcome Framework and Workforce Capability and Training resources

This role is worked Monday to Friday on a rotating roster, inclusive of morning, afternoon and night shift.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

• Experience working with families in the health/welfare sector and in the early parenting period
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

About the Role

Working within a busy and diverse acute hospital environment, you will provide high-quality Social Work assessment and intervention to patients and their families during what can often be an unexpected or challenging time in their lives. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of clinical areas, including general medicine, surgery, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s and other specialty services.

As part of the role, you will:

• Undertake comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments
• Support complex discharge planning and care coordination
• Provide counselling, advocacy and practical support to patients and families

About You

• An AASW-accredited Bachelor or entry-level Master of Social Work, providing eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers
• A minimum of two years' post-graduate Social Work experience

• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• An understanding of working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
• A commitment to safe, high-quality and person-centred care
• A current Victorian driver's licence

About the Role

Join the Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local in an Access and Engagement role supporting children and families to connect with the right care, at the right time. Based primarily at Cranbourne, with work across other Monash Health Community locations, you’ll work within an interdisciplinary team providing assessment and triage, service navigation, care coordination and transition follow-up for children aged 0–11 years and their families.

About Us

The Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local is an integrated service supporting children aged 0–11 years and their families across Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia. Bringing together community health, mental health and family support services, the Children’s Local provides wellbeing support, care coordination and therapeutic intervention for children experiencing developmental, behavioural and mental health concerns.

Our main site is located at Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre, with additional services delivered across the local catchment. Our interdisciplinary team works together to provide accessible, family-centred care that considers the whole child and the important people and environments around them.

About You

You are a Social Worker or Occupational Therapist who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and families. You enjoy working collaboratively, building relationships and helping families navigate services, particularly where there may be additional barriers to accessing care. You will bring:

• A recognised degree in Social Work or Occupational Therapy (Bachelor or Master level), including relevant overseas qualifications assessed by the appropriate Australian professional organisation
• Eligibility for AASW membership for Social Workers or current AHPRA registration for Occupational Therapists
• Experience working with children aged 0–11 years and their families, including children experiencing vulnerability or risk
• Understanding of contemporary evidence and practice relevant to children and families
• Strong communication, assessment and collaborative working skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Commitment to safe, high-quality, child and family-centred care
• Current Driver Licence
• Previous experience within a healthcare setting is desirable

About You

You are an experienced Social Worker with advanced clinical skills and a compassionate, person-centred approach. You are comfortable working autonomously, enjoy multidisciplinary collaboration and can confidently support patients and families through complex healthcare decisions and significant periods of change.

You will bring:

• A Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work (Qualifying), or equivalent qualification recognised by the AASW
• Eligibility for membership of the AASW

A Grade 2 Cardiac Physiologist should be completely competent in advanced cardiac catheterisation and participate as a member of the emergency on-call STEMI team.
