Coonabarabran Health Service
About the role
Coonabarabran Health Service is seeking applications from enthusiastic Registered Nurses, including experienced clinicians, to join our Acute Ward team, with the opportunity to train and work within our busy Rural Emergency Department. This is an excellent opportunity to develop broad clinical skills in a supportive rural health environment, with ongoing education and professional development.
This role provides high-quality nursing care within the Acute Ward, supports the Emergency Department as required, contributes to leadership and support within the nursing team, works collaboratively while also practicing autonomously within scope and participates in further education and training to support rural and remote emergency care.
Coonabarabran is a picturesque township in the Warrumbungle Shire, positioned between the Central West and Northwest Slopes of NSW. It has a population of around 2,387, offering a close‑knit, community‑oriented environment with scenic drives, hiking trails, wildlife encounters and expansive night skies.
Coonabarabran is widely recognised as the gateway to Australia’s first Dark Sky Park, thanks to its clean air, high altitude, and minimal light pollution. This makes it a standout destination for astronomy enthusiasts and visitors seeking a unique regional experience.
