The Position
The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) is part of one of Australia's most respected and trusted organisations, providing 24-hour emergency aeromedical retrievals and essential healthcare to people living and working in remote, rural and regional communities. We also deliver a comprehensive range of primary and preventative health services — including GP and nurse clinics, dental care, mental health support, alcohol and other drug counselling, vaccinations, chronic disease management, and telehealth. By delivering these services, we help ensure that people in even the most remote communities receive timely, reliable healthcare.
Based in the iconic outback town of Broken Hill, the Clinical Lead – Primary Care and Rural Generalism (Far Western NSW) will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering safe and high-quality rural generalist care across rural and remote communities in Far Western NSW, while also contributing meaningfully to clinical leadership and service delivery across RFDSSE.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Clinical Service Provision (0.8 FTE)
- Provide clinical leadership across Far Western Primary Health services including Clive Bishop Medical Centre and Network Clinics (12 outreach clinics)
- Deliver high-quality primary care including acute, chronic, preventative and mental health services
- Undertake consultations in clinic, community, outreach and telehealth settings
- Ensure continuity of care through appropriate follow-up, referrals and coordination
- Supervise and support GP/RG Registrars, junior doctors and medical students
- Provide clinical teaching, mentoring and assessment for learners and help create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and local health partners
- Engage respectfully with local communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to deliver culturally appropriate care
Medical Administration (0.2 FTE)
- Collaborate with Clinical Director of Primary Care to develop and deliver a Rural Generalist (RG) training model
- Support GP Registrars across ACRRM and RACGP pathways
- Build educator capacity among supervisors and ensure quality clinical supervision
- Coordinate training experiences aligned with RACGP, ACRRM, HETI, and university partner requirements
- Promote Rural Generalist career pathways and improve training and support for Registrars and supervisors
- Support Clinical Governance activities, including accreditation (NSQHS, AGPAL/RACGP), quality improvement, clinical audits, and morbidity and mortality reviews
- Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols, policies, incident reporting and risk management
- Assist in the expansion of services aligned with RFDSSE strategy and mission.
Essential Criteria
- Fellowship with either RACGP or ACRRM. FACRRM and FRACGP-RG preferred
- Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
- Significant experience in rural and remote medicine
- Demonstrated experience in medical education and clinical supervision
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

This is not a standard clinic role. You’ll see diverse presentations, build continuity with remote patients, and become part of the communities you serve. You will fly in and out via aircraft or use road travel for drive-in clinics.
You will have support from a number of multidisciplinary team members including flight nurses, medical officers, pilots and the executive team along with fully equipped facilities.
Rostering
Available cycles in the form of:

The Package
As a GP you may elect to be paid via:
- a salary package ($211,927 to $296,805), or

The R3-CTEP Clinical Trials Pharmacist will be responsible for the provision and coordination of pharmacy services that align to, and support the delivery of, the objectives of the R3-CTEP program at ISLHD. This will include development of Standard Operating Procedures and processes that support safe and compliant delivery of clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (IMP). The position will be expected to explore and implement new models of working in traditional and decentralised trial models of care that support patients in our Shoalhaven region to gain access to clinical trials.
A little about us. Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is the main referral hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical, mental health and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on ventilated, high dependency and coronary patients, Children's Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre. The hospital is currently undergoing a significant $440M redevelopment that will redefine how healthcare is delivered within the Region. Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are recruiting for a Visiting Medical Officer to complement and enhance the current Obstetric Medicine department.

What You'll be doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

- Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow for Royal College of Physicians with sub-specialty in obstetric medicine and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice in obstetric medicine.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Evidence of research, innovation and leadership in service delivery and obstetric medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
- Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.

What you'll be doingProvide specialist assessments, evidence based psychological interventions and case management within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Work collaboratively with young people, families and services to deliver person centered, trauma informed and recovery focused care.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria- Current Registration with AHPRA as a Clinical Psychologist and must have a minimum postgraduate masters in Clinical Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical expertise and knowledge in comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, advocacy and discharge planning.
- Demonstrated well developed skills in written and verbal communication, computer literacy, time management, prioritisation, negotiation and advocacy.
This is a NSW Health Category A position which requires immunisation and screening for certain diseases. The full list of requirements are outlined in the NSW Health OASV Policy (Page 11). You will be required to complete the OASV Undertaking/ Declaration Form and TB Assessment Tool during the recruitment process.
