The Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 (CNS2) mental health provides a high standard of care in the assessment & management of mental health issues as well as discharge planning and transfer of care.
The successful applicant must demonstrate strong clinical leadership in the ongoing development & review of treatment planning and clinical review systems for patients with mental health concerns.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The position holder will be required to process and manage complex and simultaneous issues as part of their regular workload and must demonstrate the ability to enhance organisational performance through collaboration and development of good working relationships with Corrective Services-NSW and JH&FMHN more broadly to provide a "whole of service" approach to patient care.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current NSW driver's licence.
- Three years full-time experience working in mental health and post-graduate qualification in mental health.
Our Service and Team
Custodial Mental Health (CMH) is a specialist mental health service within the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network that provides a range of mental health services to adults in NSW correctional centres.
CMH includes a specialist mental health team with mental health nurses (MHNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), Aboriginal Mental Health Clinicians, psychiatrists, career medical officers (CMOs), and psychiatry registrars who are supported by administrative and managerial staff.
CMH clinicians work alongside staff from other clinical streams and CSNSW staff, including Psychology, Offender Services and Programs, and Custodial Operations staff in the provision of mental health services. Mental health services begin at the point of reception and continue through to release from custody or transfer to another correctional centre.

- Provide comprehensive medical assessment and management of patients across Emergency, inpatient wards, oncology,and infusion clinic.

Earn up to $275.85/hour (Specialist rate + practice rate), equating to $529,632 + super for eligible contracts (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Or progress to Senior Specialist VMO rates, earning up to $293.75/hour, which equates to $564,000 + super (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) - Fee For Service & RDSP
Fee for Service and Rural Doctors Settlement Package (RDSP) arrangements follow the Visiting Medical Officer (State) Award and the Public Hospitals VMO Determination.
Payments are based on item numbers, service volumes, and rural loadings rather than a fixed hourly or annual figure.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Public Health, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based immunisation programs and communicable disease control initiatives.
This position plays a key role in providing clinical leadership and expertise in immunisation and communicable disease control to promote safe, evidence-based, high-quality public health care across the Central Coast. In this role you will:
- Provide expert clinical leadership in immunisation and communicable disease control.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based care to children, families and the community.
- Mentor, educate and support staff to strengthen clinical practice and capability.
- Drive quality improvement and service development across Public Health programs.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and clinical experience.
- Accredited Authorised Immuniser status and demonstrated expertise in safe, high-quality immunisation practice.
- Strong clinical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, educate and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement, with a drive to lead positive change in Public Health.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and digital health skills, together with a current NSW Driver's Licence.

The Speech Pathologist plays a critical specialist role within this multidisciplinary model. CPCS are a child/young person and caregiver trauma-specific service responding to violence, abuse and neglect. This position provides counselling and psychoeducation to children and young people, as well as their parents and caregivers. The overarching purpose is to work towards safety from harm for the child/young person and their family members (including parents and other children/young people). The focus interventions being to maintain the child or young person in their family where possible with the intention to prevent recurrence of abuse, as well as to prevent placement breakdown, and assist families to address the impacts and effects of violence, abuse and neglect. As well as individual or joint counselling sessions for children, young people and their caregivers. CPCS assist parents and caregivers to make positive changes so that they are better able to look after the safety and wellbeing of their children. Interventions with caregivers often include learning about what trauma does do the body and the brain and providing strategies to manage and process the effects as well as psychoeducation around parenting.
Counselling with children and adults/caregivers will be the core task of the position, however co-ordination of health service delivery, and advocacy for client interests within the child protection response will also be responsibilities. CPCS clinicians also provide consultation, support and education and training for health workers on child protection issues and concerns.

What you'll be doingProvide quality Dietetic care to the Mental Health Inpatient services in the Broken Hill Health Service, including the Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU) and Mental health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre (MHPARC).
Monitor metabolic parameters and social factors that may impact on the client's nutritional status
Demonstrate professional knowledge of recovery concepts and principles and commitment to facilitate recovery for consumers

The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Emergency Medicine, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Emergency Department and Hospital as required.
The Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist will provide clinical care to adult and paediatric patients who present to The Canterbury Hospital Emergency Department (ED). In addition to carrying a clinical patient load, the Staff Specialist will be expected to supervise junior medical staff, review clinical cases seen by juniors or trainees, and provide senior decision making to expedite clinical care and patient flow. The Staff Specialist must be capable of working collaboratively with nursing managers in managing the ED floor to optimise patient flow and maintain a safe working environment. They must be able to communicate with admitting teams, medical retrieval teams and tertiary referral centres for escalation of patient care when appropriate.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) with recognised qualifications in Emergency Medicine and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Position will be available from October 2026.

Byron Central Hospital is seeking Diagnostic Radiographers to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging for the purpose of clinical diagnosis using complex clinical procedures. In this role, you'll be required to specialise in at least one modality for the purpose of providing education, leadership and clinical expertise in the noted modality.

NSW Health provides coordinated health assessments and intervention for children and young people entering statutory OOHC who are expected to remain in care for longer than 90 days.
The program also focuses on the needs of young people expected to leave care within the next year. The OOHC Health Pathway ensures children entering out of home care are provided with a comprehensive health and developmental assessment and health management plan.
The program aims to support earlier identification of health and wellbeing issues for children and young people in OOHC, providing timely intervention when required. The overall aim is to improve the short and long-term health, development and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people in OOHC, as well as support carers and placement stability.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at individual and a community level.
