Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the Department of Health – North West (DoH), has major sites located approximately 50km apart.

The medical services across the North West region of Tasmania are based primarily at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) in Burnie and at the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) in Latrobe, close to Devonport.

The two hospitals both have very busy emergency and general medical departments. Both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics are primarily located at the NWRH with outpatient services at both sites. Anaesthetic services are provided at both sites however the team is based at NWRH for on call purposes. A busy general surgical service is based at the NWRH with the MCH providing predominately day surgery cases. A rehabilitation service is located in a purpose built ward at the MCH. There are extensive outpatient services for a range of subspecialty services. There is also an eight bed Intensive Care unit located at NWRH. Onsite support services in pathology, imaging and pharmacy are extensive.

The North West Cancer Centre (NWCC) operates as a branch of the Northern Tasmania Cancer Service and it is linked with the Holman Centre in Launceston. The NWCC provides integrated oncology services to patients who live in North West Tasmania.

You will be part of the broader MDT team including other Allied Health Disciplines, community nursing and Specialist Palliative Care services that also works with our other Physiotherapy colleagues in the acute and outpatient settings.

• This position is based inBurnie at the North West Regional Hospital.
• To promote, provide and maintain optimal specialist physiotherapy care to outreach/community-based clients across the North West Region of Tasmania, including follow up post discharge 'at risk' clients.
• Provide a consultancy and advisory service in addition to "hands on" physiotherapy.
• Service provision is provided in homes or may be centre-based throughout the THS North West Region.

• Experience in Physiotherapy broadly and ability to time manage juggling direct client care, case co ordination and travel to home based clients of NW Community.
• High level interpersonal skills to communicate with broader community NGO's, MDT Teams, colleagues and clients and their families/care providers.

The Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant – McGrath Cancer Care Nurse Lung provides specialised, evidence-based clinical leadership and expert nursing care to patients diagnosed with lung cancer. The role is integral to ensuring safe, coordinated and patient-centred care from the time of diagnosis through treatment. The Clinical nurse consultant utilises advanced clinical knowledge, specialised oncology expertise and strong communication and coordination skills to support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.

• Provide expert, person-centred cancer nursing care, information and support to people affected by cancer and their families across the continuum of care, including assessment, treatment planning, supportive care and referrals.
• Lead the development and evaluation of evidence-based clinical practice, guidelines and care pathways, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe, high-quality care and continuity of services.

The Role

As an Admissions Clerk, you will support the delivery of elective surgery services across the North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital. Working closely with patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff, you will help facilitate a smooth admissions process, identify chargeable patients, and support accurate billing activities. You will need

• Retrieval and preparation of Patient Medical Records prior to elective admissions, ensuring all patient correspondence is retrieved in preparation for admission.
• Interview all elective surgery patients upon admission, ensuring that a complete financial and demographic profile is captured for each patient.
• Identify and ensure that all potential chargeable patients are interviewed in accordance with Private Patient Scheme guidelines and other governing Acts and prepare appropriate paperwork to facilitate the billing process.

The Team We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist - General Medicine to work for the Department of Health (DoH) across the North West region. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the DoH North West, has major sites located approximately 50km apart, the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH). The Department of Health – North West provides both acute and sub-acute general medicine, and a range of medical sub-specialty services including a large outpatient service. The department of Medicine has a team of general medicine physicians across the region currently providing general medicine services. The physicians have subspecialties/interests in Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Respiratory, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care. The Department of Medicine holds accreditation with RACP which includes accreditation for basic and advance physician training in general medicine. The NWRH is an accredited site for level 1 basic physician training, and the MCH an accredited secondment site for NWRH physician trainees. Both NWRH and MCH are accredited for advance training in general medicine. In addition, NWRH and MCH have supported RACP with the successful peer reviews of overseas trained physicians (general medicine and various sub-specialties).

The Role

Working with a degree of autonomy under the broad direction of the Nurse Unit Manager and Nursing Director Integrated Operations, you will provide specialist advice on rostering, staffing utilisation, industrial awards and agreements, data integrity and ProAct system matters. The Team

The Statewide Residential Accommodation Services team forms part of the Department of Health's Property Services team within Infrastructure and Risk Services. The team manages a diverse portfolio of residential accommodation across Tasmania that supports recruitment, retention and service delivery in both metropolitan and regional locations.

This is an exciting time to join the team as the residential accommodation portfolio continues to evolve and modernise through the introduction of new technology platforms, including RMS Cloud and an electronic key management system, and contemporary accommodation management practices.

The Role

The Residential Property Officer plays a key role in managing the Department of Health's statewide residential accommodation portfolio, ensuring high-quality accommodation services are provided for staff, contractors and visitors across Tasmania. Working both independently and collaboratively, the role manages tenancy arrangements, property maintenance, furnishings, cleaning, utilities, contracts and stakeholder relationships to support the delivery of health services throughout the State.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have demonstrated experience in property, tenancy or accommodation management and the ability to effectively manage a diverse portfolio of properties.
• Be highly organised, adaptable and capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Be a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and delivering high-quality customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Be proficient in, or able to quickly learn, systems and software applications including Microsoft Office, RMS Cloud and Smartrak.
• Take a proactive, solutions-focused approach and work collaboratively as part of a supportive team guided by the Department's CARE Values.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as we can onboard you.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Position Feature: May be required to work outside normal business hours

Salary

$85,196 to $97,915 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
