Cooinda is a 24-bed acute surgical ward which includes Urology, General Surgery and Vascular specialities. The acuity of the patientsis diverse across these specialities and includes patients who require pre and post-operative care, continuous bladder irrigation, patient controlled analgesia monitoring, complex wound care and stoma care. The nursing team is supported by Clinical Nurse Educator and the Nurse Unit Manager. To be an effective Senior Child Protection Practitioner, you will have a strong sense of social justice and understand that families are complex, with their own unique histories. At the CPP5.1 Senior Practitioner level, you will supervise team members in daily tasks through a structured and supportive learning program. This role will hold a caseload commensurate with supervisory responsibilities.
The transportation of children is a requirement of this role, as such a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel, including in country regions is essential. There may be the requirement to work overnight and, travel in evenings and early mornings. On occasions, additional hours may be required to ensure the wellbeing of children. Department vehicles are used to support this role.

Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital and trauma centre for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24/7 access to the emergency department and operating theatres. The South Australian State Health Coordination Centre (SHCC) will provide 24/7 real time visibility end to end of on patient flow across the system, using existing data and shared insights to identify issues and patterns and respond before they have an impact on the system or patient care.
The Centre will use real-time information systems, monitoring patients awaiting ambulances, people waiting for the ED, people waiting in the ED to be admitted, people waiting to be discharged, inter-hospital transfers and regional patients in metro hospitals, and a newly build real time communications platform to coordinate responses and actions.
The SHCC's role is an important enabler for the Ramping Taskforce Action Plan project and the longer-term objective as a precursor to the State Health Control Centre (SHCC), supporting improvements to ramping, flow and access to care to deliver an improved patient journey.
The aim of this Nursing Director role is to provide strategic and operational leadership, coaching, governance, and direction (in and after hours across 7 days) for the SHCC. The role will report to the RN 5.3, Advanced Nursing Director- SHCC. The role balances and integrates strategic and operational perspectives within a specified span of appointment.
The role will:- Ensure the health system is working efficiently, using available capacity across the system to manage patients, resulting in improved patient flow and outcomes, and ambulance utilisation.
- Have a holistic view of a patient's end to end journey, being able to monitor and support a balanced system response to issues before they have an impact on patient care.
- Lead complex system and process improvement across LHNs through coaching, mentoring and training, recognition and support.

The VirtualKIDS department are looking for a Temporary Staff Specialist to join their team at 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) for a 12 month contract. This position is based within the Sydney Children's Hospital Network with regular travel to regional areas as per the position description.
The VirtualKIDS Staff Specialist Paediatrician (Rural and Regional Specialist Support) will work within Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) virtualKIDS to provide specialist paediatric outreach, virtual care and clinical capability support to designated regional and rural hospitals across NSW, including sites such as Goulburn Base Hospital.
The role will deliver an integrated model of care combining regular face-to-face outreach with ongoing virtual specialist support. The Staff Specialist will undertake a minimum continuous period of one week on site each month at the participating rural or regional hospital and contribute to the local paediatric service, including inpatient care, emergency consultation, outpatient activity, clinical handover and participation in the local paediatric on-call roster. These duties will be undertaken within the Staff Specialist's approved scope of practice and in accordance with agreed credentialing, rostering and clinical governance arrangements. For the remainder of each month, the Staff Specialist will ordinarily be based at SCHN and provide scheduled and responsive virtual support to the regional site. This may include specialist consultation for children presenting to the acute review clinic, inpatient, outpatient and community services; virtual ward rounds and clinics; post-discharge review; advice regarding investigation, treatment and transfer; and coordination with SCHN subspecialty, retrieval and other tertiary services.
Additionally, the purpose of the position is to strengthen local paediatric capability and support the development of a sustainable regional workforce. The Staff Specialist will work collaboratively with local paediatricians, junior medical officers, nursing staff, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide education, clinical supervision, case-based learning and support for locally relevant clinical pathways. The role will promote shared decision-making, clear clinical accountability and effective communication between SCHN and the participating Local Health District.
