Role Summary
The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Clinician plays a vital role in providing support and intervention for individuals struggling with substance use issues. Based in Warrnambool, Victoria, this full-time contract position provides culturally appropriate support, education, early intervention, and referral pathways for individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug use. The program focuses on harm reduction, recovery, and improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
The AOD Clinician works in partnership with clients throughout their individual treatment journey, providing flexible, person-centred, and strengths-based support that respects each client's right to self-determination. The role empowers clients to identify their goals, build on their strengths, enhance their social and emotional wellbeing, and improve health outcomes while maintaining connection to culture, family, and community.
The AOD Clinician will work with adults (aged 16 years and over) to provide assessment, therapeutic counselling, case management and care-coordination. This role includes work with voluntary and sanctioned (forensic) clients. Some clients may engage in individual therapeutic counselling, whilst others may require a combination of counselling and case management/care coordination.

- Experience working with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities affected by Alcohol and Other Drug use.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally safe, person-centred and strengths-based Alcohol and Other Drug services, including assessment, case management, counselling (within scope of practice), care coordination and advocacy.
- Sound knowledge of harm minimisation principles, trauma-informed practice and the social and emotional wellbeing framework.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and establish effective relationships with internal programmes, external services and community stakeholders.
- Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate client records and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational, time management and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Understanding of Aboriginal cultural protocols, kinship systems and gender considerations, and the ability to apply this knowledge in service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality and respond appropriately to clients with complex needs.

Position Description Local Work Environment St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) operates three Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) facilities - Berengarra, Auburn House and Prague House - collectively providing permanent and respite care for 165 residents. Services include mainstream aged care, psychogeriatric care and spe ialist programs supporting people with mental health diagnoses, acquired brain injuries and/or a history of homelessness. All facilities are registered NDIS providers. The position is primarily based at St George's Health Service in Kew, with responsibilities across campuses and residential aged care sites. RACS forms part of SVHM's Continuing Care Program, alongside Subacute Services, Bed Based Transition Care, Community Services and Healthcare for the Homeless.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership and Service Delivery Support the day-to-day operational management of Residential Aged Care Services. Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Lifestyle and Administration Teams. Act as a key liaison with Allied Health teams to support communication, coordinated care and service planning. About You
- A tertiary-level healthcare qualification.

The BiOC Team Leader will support the Program Manager in the effective implementation of the Jajumbora BiOC Model of Care by managing and coordinating the Family Support Workers (FSWs) within the Hub. About the role
In this role you will be responsible for managing the Independent Mental Health Advocacy service (IMHA), which provides opt out non legal advocacy services to consumers subject to or at risk of being placed on a compulsory treatment order in Victoria.

Duties
- Effectively engage clients through cold-call home-based visits.
- Deliver immediate safety assessment and safety responses, documented and approved by line-Manager, in instances of domestic and family violence, self-harm/mental health, and child abuse.
- Facilitate ATSICHS 'Narrative Assessment Tools' completed in full by client ensuring the voices of clients are imbedded in their assessment. Facilitate conversations and introspection on all assessment domains.
- Lead tough conversations with clients, outlining non-negotiables of statutory bodies (Child Safety, Police, Courts, Youth Justice etc.). Build change readiness of clients through motivational interviewing strategies and positive reinforcement.
- Deliver Empowerment Interventions that Build Client Belief, Motivation, and Self-Sufficiency.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case notes of all client interactions, ensuring case notes are written from the perspective of clients in their voice.
- All client details, consents, assessments and records are current, completed in full and uploaded into case management system.

Career Medical Officer - Emergency Medicine & Hospital in the Home (HITH)Join a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team at Bathurst Health Service, where you'll gain broad clinical experience across both Emergency Medicine and Hospital in the Home (HITH) in a unique 12-month rotational position.
This role offers six months in the Emergency Department and six months in Hospital in the Home, providing exceptional exposure to acute, urgent and community-based healthcare delivery. Working under the supervision of experienced senior clinicians, you will develop advanced skills in the assessment, management and coordination of care for a diverse range of patients across both inpatient and ambulatory settings.
Bathurst Emergency Department is a busy regional referral service that provides exposure to a wide variety of presentations, offering excellent opportunities to build confidence in emergency medicine within a well-supported learning environment. The HITH service delivers hospital-level care in the community, allowing clinicians to develop expertise in patient-centred care, chronic disease management, ambulatory care models and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Importantly, Bathurst Health Service is an ACRRM Advanced Specialised Training accredited site for Emergency Medicine and Hospital in the Home, making this an ideal opportunity for doctors pursuing a rural generalist career pathway. The position provides high-quality supervision, structured learning opportunities and valuable experience that supports progression toward advanced training requirements.

Qualifications - External- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of at least two (2) postgraduate years of medical practice.
- Valid NSW Working with Children check.
- Cleared National Police check.
- Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.
- To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.

- Clinical experience relevant to the specialty area.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills applicable to Australian medical practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, under direction of a Consultant, and ability to recognise own clinical limitations and consult as required.
- Ability to equitably participate in the unit on-call roster with other medical practitioners as required and the ability to participate in a rotating roster including night duty.
- Demonstrated active participation in and commitment to quality assurance and improvement activities.

About the role
The Community Re-entry Support Service (CRESS) Aboriginal Health Practitioner provides culturally safe, holistic, and person-centred healthcare to Aboriginal people experiencing homelessness in inner city Sydney with complex unmet health needs and frequent justice system contact.
Work alongside clients, the CRESS Coordinator, multidisciplinary teams and communities to deliver specialist healthcare, consultancy, and shared-care coordination to improve access to healthcare, accommodation, and support.
