What you'll be doing

About You
You are a Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care. Your comprehensive nursing knowledge and clinical skills have been developed within outpatient and acute hospital settings, enabling you to provide high-quality care across a broad range of clinical situations while maintaining professional standards and ensuring positive patient outcomes.
You possess highly developed clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities, allowing you to identify patient needs, respond appropriately to changing clinical conditions, and implement effective interventions to maximise patient care. Your sound clinical judgement supports informed decision-making and contributes to the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate healthcare services.
You communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams through well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. You are proficient in the use of information technology and clinical documentation systems, ensuring accurate record keeping, clear communication, and continuity of care across all stages of the patient journey.
Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, you demonstrate the ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care to achieve outcome-focused results. Your strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to holistic care enable you to contribute positively to team objectives while advocating for the needs and wellbeing of patients.
You are adaptable, resilient, and committed to meeting the operational requirements of a busy healthcare environment, including participation in a seven-day rotating roster encompassing weekends, public holidays, and night duty. Your flexibility and dedication ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality nursing care and support the ongoing needs of patients and the health service.

- The Registered Nurse – Prostate Brachytherapy Research provides clinical and research support to the prostate brachytherapy service at the St George Hospital Cancer Care Centre. The role is responsible for coordinating the collection of clinical and treatment-related information from patients undergoing prostate brachytherapy, including demographic, treatment and toxicity data obtained during initial consultation and follow-up visits.
- The position supports the development and maintenance of a prostate brachytherapy clinical database by ensuring accurate, timely and complete data capture in accordance with approved research protocols, governance requirements and local policies.
- Working within a multidisciplinary team that includes radiation oncologists, urologists, medical physicists and nursing staff, the role facilitates high-quality clinical data collection to support clinical research, service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives within the prostate brachytherapy program.
- The Registered Nurse – Prostate Brachytherapy Research conducts patient interactions in outpatient clinic settings, administers validated questionnaires, performs toxicity grading where appropriate, and ensures clinical information is accurately recorded and entered into the prostate brachytherapy REDCap database.

The Harm Reduction Program provides a number of services that aim to reduce the transmission of blood borne viruses. Working within a multidisciplinary team alongside a Needle Syringe Program, the successful applicant will provide comprehensive primary health care to a vulnerable population, delivering holistic health assessments, blood-borne virus screening, venepuncture, immunisation, health promotion, preventative health care, and evidence-based harm reduction interventions. The role focuses on improving health outcomes for a vulnerable population through person-centred care, early intervention, disease prevention, and referral to appropriate health and social support services.

You will be providing a consistent generalist medical service to patients of the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD), coordinating clinical management of patients consistent with the plans of the Admitting Medical Officer and improvement in the continuity of care within NNSWLHD and between the hospital and community.
NSW Rural General Practitioner Procedural Training Program with NNSWLHD offers fellowed General Practitioners flexible Advanced Skills Training opportunities in Anaesthetics, Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, Palliative Care, Mental Health and Paediatrics at the Network Hospitals.
This program is available to all Fellowed General Practitioners wanting to acquire or maintain procedural skills for use in rural NSW. It is recognised that General Practitioners undertaking procedural training are most likely to have established practices therefore training may be flexible to allow continuation of part-time work in the practice. The procedural training specialty should be appropriate to the service needs of the rural community in which they intend to practice. Recruitment will be focused on GPs proposing to take up rural practice who are residing in or are prepared to reside and practice as a General Practitioner in rural NSW.
The trainee will be engaged as a Senior Registrar under the Public Hospital Medical Officers (State) Award and will receive an allowance to increase total remuneration to the level of Staff Specialist Level 1, Year 5 as per the Staff Specialists (State) Award, in line with Award increases.

The hospital is an acute regional referral hospital of 280 beds on the Far North Coast of NSW, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW and has a busy Emergency Department (40,000 presentations annually), ICU and Coronary Care Unit, as well as Surgery (general, orthopaedic and speciality surgery), Paediatrics, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Position details
The Team
Cardiac Physiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital enjoy a collaborative environment, working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. As well as echocardiography, members of the Cardiac Physiologist team specialise in rhythm management including cardiac device management, and electrophysiology and there is opportunity to work within more than one of these disciplines.
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania.
The Role
You will perform high-quality trans-thoracic echocardiograms in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. You will liaise closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team to support best practice care of our patients. You will find our practice exposes you to a wide range of pathophysiology in adult echocardiography, including structural heart, intensive care and cardiothoracic surgical patients. There is also opportunity to be involved in paediatric, adult congenital and exercise echocardiography. We operate an after-hours on-call service.
You will need
- Significant experience as a Cardiac Physiologist in the field of echocardiography with a sound knowledge of cardiac physiology including cardiovascular haemodynamics and rhythm interpretation.
- Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals and students and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the field of echocardiography.
- You will have ASAR accreditation in cardiac ultrasound or be eligible for ASAR accreditation.

Permanent part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing 26 October 2026.

Salary

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of *study at a recognised tertiary institution, and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
*Undergraduate or post-graduate tertiary qualification in Echocardiography.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Eligibility for accreditation in Australia by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
- Experience in paediatric echocardiography
- At least 3 years postgraduate experience
- Current Driver’s Licence
