The Role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) consistent with SESLHD and POWH policies, procedures and standards.
This role is responsible for the management of inventory within Randwick Campus Operating Suite. The registered nurse is responsible to ensure that stock that is used within the Operating Suite is replaced in a timely manner through a stock management systems.
This role works closely with the Nursing Unit Managers and nursing staff within theatres to management stock. The inventory nurse works with the speciality Nurse Unit Managers to manage stock levels within the allocated budget. The inventory nurse reports to the Nurse Manager Randwick Campus Operating Suite. The vision for nursing at Prince of Wales Hospital is Transforming Person Centred Care Together. Nurses at the Prince of Wales Hospital are committed to working within Practice Development principles. This is enabled through a framework of inclusiveness, active participation and collaboration. All Registered Nurses must comply and act in accordance with recognised professional and organisational standards established by: NSW Ministry of Health, The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District & Prince of Wales Hospital.
Clinical supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Demonstrated understanding of stock management, and ordering within a budget.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Ability to prioritise workload and solve problems with stock management effectively with companies.
- Demonstrated recent experience within the operating suite environment.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Continence Registered Nurse to join the Generalist Care Service at Taree Community Health Centre.
The Generalist Care Service provides a diverse range of healthcare services to the local community, with this position based at Taree Community Health Centre and providing outreach services across Forster, Bulahdelah and Gloucester. As a Continence Nurse, you’ll have the opportunity to use your specialist knowledge to support people experiencing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction, helping improve their health, independence and quality of life.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Continence Registered Nurse, you will provide specialist nursing care to patients in a clinic-based setting, supporting assessment and management of continence and related bladder, bowel and pelvic floor concerns.
You will:
- Provide comprehensive continence assessment, management and care.
- Support patients experiencing bladder, bowel and/or pelvic floor muscle dysfunction.
- Develop and implement individualised, person-centred care plans in partnership with patients.
- Provide education, advice and support to patients and their families to promote continence management and independence.
- Apply current evidence, clinical expertise and best-practice approaches to continence care.
- Provide clinical expertise and contribute to safe, high-quality service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and other health professionals.
- Provide outreach services across Taree, Forster, Bulahdelah and Gloucester as required.
- Advocate for patients and support improved health outcomes and quality of life.
- Contribute to health education and the ongoing development of clinical practice.

About You

About the Opportunity
An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to join the Generalist Care multidisciplinary team at Gloucester Community Health Service.
Working in a close-knit Community Health environment, you’ll be part of a team delivering care across the local community. Your immediate work environment includes Community Health Nursing, Palliative Care, Child and Family Services and other outreach services, providing opportunities to work alongside a diverse range of health professionals. As part of the broader Generalist Care multidisciplinary team, you’ll have access to specialist services including Wound Management Specialist Clinics, Wound Management Clinics, Specialist Palliative Care, Cardiac and Respiratory Rehabilitation, Continence, Dietetics, Diabetes Education, Immunisation and Audiometry. The position is supported by the Nurse Unit Manager, with specialist wound management support from the Wound Management Specialist and clinical competency support from the Clinical Nurse Educator.
You’ll be supported to maintain and develop your clinical skills through annual competencies relevant to the role, as well as additional education and training opportunities aligned with the core business of Community Nursing.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you’ll provide high-quality wound management across both community and clinic-based settings, helping patients achieve positive health outcomes and maintain their independence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting home visits and providing nursing care within the community.
- Providing Wound Management Clinics at the Gloucester Community Health facility.
- Assessing, managing and monitoring a diverse range of wounds.
- Applying knowledge of wound physiology and the healing process to clinical practice.
- Developing and delivering individualised, person-centred wound management plans.
- Prioritising and coordinating your caseload to ensure safe and effective care.
- Working collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Applying evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning to complex wound management.
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and communication.
- Participating in clinical competencies and ongoing professional development.
Working within a small team, you’ll have the opportunity to work independently on a regular basis while having access to specialist and clinical support when required.
About You

The Southcare Outreach Service (SOS) provides multidisciplinary care in the community for the ageing population over 65 years of age residing in the Sutherland Shire. The SOS provides short term acute interventions (up to six weeks) by Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, and our consulting Geriatrician to facilitate enhanced patient care and safe clinical outcomes. SOS staff will provide assessment, intervention and referral onto other required services in order to navigate and integrate the patient’s journey between tertiary and primary care.
The Southcare Outreach Service (SOS) provides a 7 day a week service including public holiday coverage, with varied shift times (a mixture of 8hr and 10hr shifts).

The Role

Reiby is part of the Juvenile Justice system, which emphasises community-based approaches and individual case management for each detainee.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for:

You will be based at Inpatient Mental Health Units, ESMHS located on the Prince of Wales Hospital campus, Randwick.

Selection Criteria:
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centred environment.
- Current professional practice knowledge base.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of recovery principles and commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumer, family and carer participation and consumer focused care.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver high quality patient care in Mental Health setting.
