The Team Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.
Role- You will need Promote and support the development strategies to optimise use of blood products-alternatives by following and adopting Standard 7 Blood management guidelines.
- Investigate and identify increase in out-of-hours transfusion, the reasons and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate.
- Undertake hemovigilance initiatives to improve education and awareness across all clinical areas, including sites across Hospitals North.
- You will be required to provide leave coverage for the incumbent, and the incumbent will reciprocate during periods of the applicant's leave.
