The Community and Continuing Care Division provides a broad range of high-quality, person-centred care programs and services to consumers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Each service within the division is designed to ensure holistic care and improve the overall well-being of our patients and communities.
The Community Services team is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing outcomes of the communities in the Loddon Mallee with six regional offices. This team includes: Aged Care Assessment undertaken on behalf of My Aged Care; Community Allied Health; Community Care; Carer Support and Community Nursing & Home Care.

Staff Specialist - Paediatrics - Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital
Located on the land of Kamilaroi/Gomeroi/Gamillaray people, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, with 282 beds is the largest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney-Wollongong-Newcastle metropolis.
Our Paediatric and Adolescent Inpatient Unit provides services to children in the New England, North West & Upper Hunter area and is the major referral centre for the northern sector of HNELHD. The Paediatric Unit has 18 beds with over 2600 admissions per year. Including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, dental, gastroenterology, endocrinology, oncology and mental health admissions. Our Paediatric outpatient clinic sees an approximate of 5000 patients annually. Visiting subspecialty outreach clinics from JHCH include Paediatric Surgery, Endocrinology, Neurology, Brain Injury, Respiratory/CF, Haematology-oncology, Cleft palate, Immunology, Rehabilitation, Neonatal follow up, Cardiac and Out of Home Care. We boast a strong experienced community allied health team providing developmental assessments and specialty clinics.
Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital also provides Level 3 Neonatal Services, supporting newborns delivered at our Level 4 maternity service. The paediatric team attends all high-risk deliveries and provides neonatal resuscitation, stabilisation, and ongoing care for infants born 32 weeks' gestation or 1500 g, as well as initial resuscitation and stabilisation for infants born unexpectedly below these thresholds prior to NETS retrieval. Our Special Care Nursery provides short-term CPAP, phototherapy, glucose stabilisation, sepsis management, feeding and growth support, temperature regulation, and transition care for infants returning from tertiary units. Neonatal care consistently represents more than half of our inpatient workload, making it a central and defining component of the paediatrician role. The service maintains close partnership with NETS and John Hunter Children's Hospital, . Candidates with combined general paediatrics and neonatal skills or interest are strongly encouraged to apply and will be instrumental in shaping the neonatal service development.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of the position is to provide those functions necessary for support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist performs advanced work in the selection, preparation, operation and maintenance of extracorporeal circulatory equipment. These duties are performed in close cooperation with surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care staff and in accordance with hospital policy. The primary locations of work are the cardiac operating theatre, PICU, invasive radiology suite and the transplant operating theatre, however the possibility exists of working in other areas.

As a part of this aspiration, Youth Focus is looking for an experienced and driven Clinical Lead t o join our team!
- Full-time position (part time will be considered for the right candidate)
- Permanent clinical leadership position within our youth hub!
- Support coordinate integrated youth friendly, early intervention mental health services to young people accessing headspace Geraldton and Outreach services through the Geraldton Youth Hub
- Provide clinical leadership, consultation, advice, and expertise to clinicians in the delivery of mental health care to young people and their supports
- With support from the Centre Manager, provide line management, consultation, and support to direct reports in the delivery of day-to-day youth friendly mental health services
- Liaise and consult with relevant stakeholders including, schools, community partners and other services to promote a consistent and coordinated service delivery response for young people
- Oversee the robust delivery of evidence-based interventions, including group interventions, Single Session Consultation, and problem solving
- Lead and coordinate regular clinical case review meetings and team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service pathway and service delivery
- Coordinate the provision of integrated services within the headspace and Outreach programs, including consortium partners and Private Practitioners
- Assist the Centre Manager with contract related reporting and auditing processes
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (bachelors or higher) with current full registration/membership with AASW or AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, multidisciplinary team coordination, and clinical leadership
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with capacity to prioritise and manage competing work tasks whilst delivering to agreed deadlines
- Demonstrated experience and ability to coordinate care for young people in areas of mental health and substance use intervention, including provision of counselling and therapeutic interventions
- Demonstrated experience and ability to undertake screening and assessment to determine and manage varying levels of risk

Selection Criteria- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their fellowship within 3 months may be considered.

What You'll Be DoingNSLHD is responsible for hosting the NSW Voluntary Assisted Dying Support Service (NVSS), comprising four operational arms which provide high-quality Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) services to eligible patients across NSW and within NSLHD. Access Service (VAD-AS): a small pool of Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) who are authorised VAD practitioners established to fill gaps in availability of local VAD practitioners across NSW.
- Care Navigator Service (VAD-CNS): a specialized call-centre manned by senior nurses and allied health professionals who provide information and support to patients, families, clinicians, and other community members about VAD.
- Pharmacy Service (VAD-PS): responsible for procuring and distributing the VAD substance, and providing expert pharmaceutical advise, education and support.
- NSLHD VAD Local Support Team: responsible for provision of direct clinical assessment and care to patients and families seeking access to VAD services.
The Director is responsible for operational performance, strategic management and planning, escalations and issues management related to the four service arms, and for maintaining effective internal/external stakeholder relationships to meet service goals and objectives.

What you'll be doing
The NSW Newborn Screening (NBS) Programme, situated in The Children's Hospital at Westmead, includes the State Reference Laboratory which screens all newborns in NSW and the ACT for the detection of over 30 inborn errors of metabolism. The Department also provides an advisory service for the further investigation, monitoring and management of patients detected with a disorder by the screening tests, as well as specialised services to interstate and overseas reference laboratories.
The PSO for NBS will be responsible for the quality and performance of all aspects of the NBS laboratory and will be the scientific representative of the laboratory at state, national and international levels. They should have a thorough knowledge of the scientific aspects of newborn screening and be abreast of technology changes in order to be able to bring innovation into the laboratory.
They will be expected to drive the development of services to meet the needs of the customer and to manage and implement change in accordance with quality principles.
The Principal Scientist will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team and consumers of the Sydney Children's Hospital Network to effectively deliver services.
The Principal Scientist provides role modelling, mentorship and leadership in the achievement of excellence in clinical practice, ensuring that Departmental:
- Resources are focussed on delivering excellent clinical care to children and supporting their families.
- Research and teaching is at a high standard.

Our 13-bed Special Care Unit, including 8 funded beds, provides care for premature and newborn babies, including babies born from approximately 32-34 weeks gestation. You'll work in a high-paced environment supporting babies who require additional monitoring and specialised care.
Our 14-bed Paediatric Unit provides care for children and young people across a diverse range of presentations, including medical, surgical, orthopaedic and eating disorder care. With permanent full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available, this is an exciting opportunity to join a service where every shift brings something different.
What You Will Be Doing
No two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple areas, broaden your experience and build skills that are transferable across paediatric and special care nursing.
You will:
- Provide safe, high-quality and family-centred nursing care to babies, children and young people.
- Work across Paediatrics and Special Care, gaining experience across a diverse range of clinical presentations.
- Care for premature and newborn babies requiring additional monitoring and support.
- Provide nursing care to children and young people with medical, surgical, orthopaedic and eating disorder presentations.
- Complete clinical assessments and monitor patients, recognising and escalating changes in condition.
- Develop and evaluate individualised plans of care in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide education, support and reassurance to children, young people and their families.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, medical and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to safe, high-quality care.
- Participate in education, professional development and quality improvement activities.

About You
We're looking for a Registered Nurse who is dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in working with babies, children and families.
You will be:

An interest in Paediatrics is desirable, and previous paediatric or special care experience will be highly regarded. However, we recognise that many nursing skills are transferable, and we are committed to supporting you to develop your paediatric knowledge and capabilities.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, high-quality and person-centred nursing care.
