This is a senior medical role within a CRO's medical monitoring team.
- protecting participant safety, assuring data integrity, and advising sponsors, sites and study teams on medical matters from protocol design through to final reporting
- advising clients, project teams, sites, data safety monitoring boards, regulatory agencies and third-party vendors on medical matters
- contributing to clinical development plans, protocols, investigator brochures, annual reports, clinical study reports, manuscripts and scientific presentations
- reviewing and analysing clinical data to safeguard the safety of study participants
- ensuring reported data is accurate, complete and verifiable, and that trial conduct complies with the approved protocol and amendments
- addressing safety issues raised across the study by sites and the study team, and support pharmacovigilance activities
- identifying program risks and implement mitigation strategies with Clinical Operations
- organising and leading clinical development advisory boards and safety monitoring boards
- participating in bid defence meetings
- ensuring study-team compliance with local regulatory agencies, ICH and GCP guidelines
- reviewing and signing off clinical documents for medical relevance
We're looking for someone with the following qualifications, experience and capabilities:
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree
- Board certification in Gastroenterology preferred
- Prior experience in clinical research
- Clinical experience in a major therapeutic area (oncology, infectious disease, gastroenterology, haematology or internal medicine) is desirable
- Familiarity with clinical research practice and local regulations; experience of local health-authority interactions leading to drug approval is strongly preferred
- Able to train clinical monitors and physician investigators, and build constructive, trusted relationships at all levels
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation and organisational skills
- Sound critical thinking and problem-solving, able to carry the role with minimal guidance

General Medicine & Speciality TeamThe General Medicine & Speciality Teams at Grampians Health are an integral part of Internal Medicine and sits within the Hospitals Directorate. The General Medical and Specialty Units has approximately 120 inpatients each day across two campuses with seven general medical units.
The Internal Medicine Service provides general medicine that also oversees gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, perioperative and obstetric medicine. In addition, there are independent neurology, nephrology, oncology, haematology and cardiology units providing a weekday and on-call service. General Medicine is also well supported by geriatrics, palliative care and rehabilitation services as well as a hospital-in-the-home service that functions across our campuses.
The Requirements- AHPRA registration as a physician and specialist, or eligible to apply for such.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent in Respiratory (and preferably Sleep Medicine).

You will work with an extraordinary team of highly qualified clinicians and allied health professionals, and will play a pivotal role in delivering personalised care and long term support to patients on their weight loss journey.
Responsibilities- Assess patient eligibility for the weight loss program and devices
- Conduct initial assessments (medical history, metabolic risks, GLP-1 suitability)
- Perform placement of the gastric balloon and confirm position via X-ray guidance
- Explain risks and provide sensitive education about the Allurion programme
- Provide follow up consultations and closely monitor patient progress post placement
- Support patients in developing evidence based, individualised care plans for long term change
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (Practice Nurse, Gastroenterologists, Dietitians, Admin)
- Initiate and monitor GLP-1 therapy with structured follow ups and safety protocols
- Develop personalised care plans with dietitians, EPs, and psychologists
- Use data to drive continuous quality improvement
- Communicate effectively with referring GPs and specialists
We will provide full training in Allurion. Once trained, you will take ownership of the program-guiding patients from the least invasive options through to the Allurion balloon, a quick and non invasive procedure.

Albany Health Campus has 8 paediatric beds in a mixed adult and paediatric ward and a 4 bed nursery. The nursery can admit babies down to 34 weeks who require low level care (IV antibiotics/NGT feeds/phototherapy/short term CPAP).
The hospital has an advanced paediatric trainee, a paediatric registrar and 2 RMOs. The junior staff are on site Monday - Friday 8am - 8:30pm and on weekends from 8am - 12pm. Outside of those hours, there are junior staff in the hospital to assist but they are not specifically paediatric and are also ward cover for the rest of the hospital. The GP Obstetricians are first on call for the neonatal deliveries and paediatrics attends only if there are significant issues. We always attend if a baby requires admission to the nursery. There is an on-call component which is shared amongst the 5 paediatricians.

Positions will be structured to meet departmental requirements and service needs while supporting individual areas of expertise and professional interests. As part of meeting service requirements, there is a need for coverage on Mondays and Fridays, and successful candidates will be required to support this coverage.
About the Role
As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide specialist paediatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment while delivering safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care. You will provide leadership and clinical guidance to medical team members, promoting quality improvement initiatives, patient safety and best practice standards across the service. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will supervise, mentor and educate doctors in training and other healthcare professionals, while collaborating closely with fellow consultants, nursing staff, allied health professionals and the Head of Department. You will also contribute to the strategic development, ongoing enhancement and continuous improvement of the Paediatric Service to ensure the highest standards of care for children and their families.
You will hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatric and Child Health Division, Australia and have extensive experience in paediatric medicine
You will demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, along with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care at both an individual and service level. Selection Criteria:
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
Has achieved fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Respiratory medicine
Prior clinical experience in a lung transplant unit is essential.
Completion or current enrolment in a PhD with a focus on clinical lung transplantation, animal models for thoracic transplantation or Ex-Vivo Lung Perfusion.
Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries..

What you'll be doing
As a Staff Specialist in Geriatric Medicine, you will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary aged care team comprising Geriatricians, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and a Nurse Practitioner. You will:
- Provide inpatient geriatric consultative services at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
- Deliver clinical leadership to the 16‑bed Geriatric Medicine Unit, ensuring high‑quality care and patient flow.
- Provide outpatient clinics, including ambulatory and community geriatric services.
- Deliver outreach services across MLHD—via onsite visits, telehealth, and GP support.
- Support Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACAT), Aged Care Services in Emergency Teams (ASET), and community aged‑related care services.
- Work in partnership with a broad multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes for older people.
- Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, peer review, and continuing professional development.

Selection Criteria
- Holds unconditional specialist registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA), or holds general registration with AHPRA in the final 6 months of training approaching fellowship and specialist registration.
- Evidence of Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, specialising in Geriatric Medicine or an Advanced Trainee in the final 6 months of training approaching fellowship and/or proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialists Recognition Advisory Committee.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of contemporary evidence based best practice In Geriatric Medicine and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, and colleagues
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and training at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to involvement in quality improvement and research programs, and an ability to work in a computerised environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
