Overview
Across the vast reaches of the Eyre Peninsula and Far North, communities rely on skilled nurses who bring care directly to them. SA Health's Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is establishing a 2026–2027 employment pool of Casual Enrolled Nurses to support Community Health services across various locations throughout the Eyre and Far North region, with positions available through to 30 June 2027.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering direct nursing care to community-based clients across the Eyre and Far North Community & Allied Health service, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Contributing to individualised care plans, monitoring patient progress, and escalating changes in clinical condition appropriately
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including allied health professionals, GPs, and community support workers
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with EFNLHN policies and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards
What You'll Bring
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), with no restrictions on practice
- Experience or demonstrated interest in community, primary health, or outpatient nursing settings
- Sound understanding of person-centred care and the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- A current, unrestricted South Australian driver's licence - community nursing in this region requires it
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a distributed team

What You'll Be Doing
Working within the Port Lincoln Community & Allied Health unit, you'll deliver person-centred nursing care to individuals and families across the lifespan in community-based settings. Your day-to-day will include:
- Conducting health assessments and delivering evidence-based nursing care within the community
- Coordinating care plans and working collaboratively with allied health, medical, and community support teams
- Supporting chronic disease management, health education, and early intervention programs
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with SA Health standards and legislative requirements
What You'll Bring
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated experience in community, primary, or generalist nursing practice
- Sound understanding of social determinants of health and culturally responsive care
- Strong communication and care coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with SA Health policies, clinical frameworks, or equivalent state health system experience
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Port Lincoln and surrounds region

About the role
The Registered Nurse delivers person-centred care across health settings, assessing needs, planning and coordinating services, and providing direct care or case management. Accountable for quality outcomes, the Registered Nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to meet individual patient needs.
Key duties of the role
- Assess individual patient needs, and plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery.
- Provide direct person-centred nursing care and individual case management.

- Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Key Criteria:
- Experience in providing direct care services in a health-related field.

- To be appointed to the WHD4 level you must have completed Certificate III or higher in Individual Support. (Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community)

About the Role:
You will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialised nursing support. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess patient needs, coordinate care, and contribute to safe and effective service delivery.
