About The Role
A Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring that all patient care delivered is done so within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse and by adhering to policies and procedures of the Mater Hospital and St Vincent’s health Australia (SVHA).
Patient centred clinical practice in accordance with recognised standards and hospital policy.
Provide optimal service to all customers including patients, visitors, VMOs and Allied Health professionals.
Ensure open two-way communication is maintained with colleagues, staff, patients, visitors and other stakeholders.
Ensuring the confidentiality of patients and staff is maintained and communication and interpersonal skills are effective and appropriate.
About You
Valid AHPRA registration.
Bachelor's in nursing.
Current/Previous scrub scout experience.
Excellent communication skills and time management.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

About the role
This role provides expert clinical care, leadership, and education in the management of diabetes across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The successful applicant will be expected to be able to provide evidence-based, clinically sound and holistic patient care in partnership with clients and their families and other health professionals.
Take an extended leadership role in the coordination of nursing and health care within and across different care contexts to facilitate optimal health outcomes.
Triage referrals, manage waitlists and lead multidisciplinary meetings, while collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders.
Practice independently and interdependently with an extended scope of practice, autonomy and decision making, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care workers
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
Commitment to ongoing professional development demonstrated through current Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) or working towards credentialling with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA).
Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

About the role
Be required to work a rotating roster, including day, evening and night shifts, to support the 7-day operational needs of the unit.
Apply your extensive venepuncture skills and experience in specimen collection, preparation, storage and transportation in a busy pathology environment.
Assist with specialised procedures including venesection and Synacthen testing, as well as undertake non-blood collection procedures as required.

Provide evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for patients with osteoarthritis of the knee or hip, supporting pain management, health behaviour change, adjustment to long-term conditions, function and quality of life

About you

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and compassionate Personal Care Supervisor to join The Cottage, part of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Health Care for the Homeless (HfTH) program. The Cottage is a unique five-bed health facility providing nursing and personal care within a welcoming, home-like environment for people experiencing homelessness who have complex health and psychosocial needs.
As Personal Care Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of The Cottage, ensuring patients receive safe, responsive and person-centred care. Working closely with the Cottage Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will oversee service delivery, staffing, referrals, occupancy, resources and operational requirements.

Your Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Patient Care
Ensure the delivery of a safe, effective and responsive service for patients of The Cottage
Work alongside the Cottage Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse to triage referrals and coordinate admissions and occupancy
Provide clinical, practical and therapeutic support to patients as required and within scope of practice
Support staff with resident management practices and provide guidance and training where required
Ensure clinical documentation, observations and handovers are completed accurately each shift
Maintain and promote patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times
Respond to complaints or concerns escalated by staff and seek support from the Psychosocial Manager where required
Team Leadership
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to Cottage staff
Coordinate staffing and rosters to support safe, high-quality care and effective use of resources
Lead recruitment activities, including oversight of position descriptions and onboarding
Ensure new team members receive a comprehensive orientation to the operations and philosophy of The Cottage
Support staff to maintain required credentialing, scope of practice, performance review requirements and appropriate supervision

About You

The Cottage forms part of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Health Care for the Homeless (HfTH) program, which brings together services supporting people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for compassionate and experienced Health Care Workers to join the casual pool at Sister Francesca Healy Cottage, part of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Health Care for the Homeless program. The Cottage is a unique five-bed health facility providing care within a welcoming, home-like environment for people experiencing homelessness who may have complex physical, social and psychosocial needs. As a Health Care Worker, you will help create a safe and welcoming environment, build positive and respectful relationships with clients and provide practical, personal and health-related support. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will support clients with their daily needs while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing. What You Will Do
As a Health Care Worker, you will:
Create a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for clients
Build positive therapeutic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and with complex needs
Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Support clients with diabetes, wound and continence monitoring within your scope of practice
Provide medication assistance in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and scope of practice
Prepare and provide simple meals and nutritional support
Complete housekeeping and cleaning activities while maintaining appropriate infection prevention and control standards
Complete accurate documentation and participate in clinical handover each shift
Undertake administrative activities including answering telephone calls and emails and liaising with internal and external services

Attend and actively contribute to regular team meetings

About You
You are a compassionate and reliable Health Care Worker who is comfortable supporting people with complex health and psychosocial needs. You can work independently when required while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
You will bring:
A nationally accredited qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 4, or be currently working towards completion
A minimum of two years’ experience as a Health Care Worker

About Sister Francesca Healy Cottage
Sister Francesca Healy Cottage forms part of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s Health Care for the Homeless program, which supports people who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. The program brings together services across St Vincent’s to provide better integrated and coordinated care while developing responsive models of care that meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness and complex health and psychosocial challenges. The Cottage also sits within the Health Independence Program (HIP), which aims to improve outcomes for clients through integrated and coordinated care across hospital and community settings. HIP supports hospital demand management and patient flow while reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and promoting person-centred care planning.
Sister Francesca Healy Cottage is a five-bed health facility located within a home-like terrace house setting in Fitzroy. The service supports people with complex needs that may include homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, disability and family violence. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, Cottage staff provide physical, social and emotional support within an environment centred on safety, dignity, respect and compassionate care.

Our Day Infusion Centre is a newly refurbished 15 chair unit providing specialised care to oncology, haematology, neurology, rheumatology and gastroenterology patients. We also deliver immunotherapies and blood products / iron infusions.
The aim of the position is to provide a comprehensive and patient focused service by providing expert individual patient care. You will be collaborating with all members of the multidisciplinary team to provide excellence in care and to develop and expand the service, encompassing patient centred care.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for Instrument Technicians to join the Sterile Processing Centre (SPC) at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.As an Instrument Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe, effective and efficient reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMDs) in accordance with Sterile Processing Centre policies and relevant State and National Standards.Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will rotate across all areas of the Sterile Processing Centre, including supporting the Endoscopy Suite. Your responsibilities will include:
Decontamination and high-level disinfection of reusable medical devices
Reprocessing of endoscopy equipment
Checking reusable medical devices and assembling instrument trays
Packaging and preparation of sterile barrier systems
Sterilisation and sterile storage
Checking, testing and maintaining equipment and resources
Maintaining accurate documentation in line with operational requirements
Identifying, troubleshooting and reporting equipment or process variances
The Sterile Processing Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and successful applicants will be required to participate in a roster covering a range of shifts.
Classification: Instrument Technician IN1–IN4 ($57,002.40–$73,502.00 per annum, pro rata for part time).
Casual workers will also receive a casual loading fee of 25%.
About You
We are looking for motivated and reliable Instrument Technicians who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You will bring:
Completion of, or current enrolment in, a Certificate III or IV in Health – Sterilisation Services
The ability to read, understand and interpret reprocessing procedures and guidelines
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet operational requirements
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, customers and external suppliers
An understanding of relevant policies and procedures within a sterile processing environment
A current National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one

About the Sterile Processing Centre
The Sterile Processing Centre is responsible for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices in accordance with AS/NZS 4187, AS 5369 and other relevant local, State and National guidelines and policies. As part of St Vincent’s Perioperative Services, the Sterile Processing Centre provides a critical service supporting the operation of St Vincent’s operating theatres and Endoscopy Suite. The department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with staff rostered across all shifts.

About the role
- Renal Ambulatory Care is a busy dynamic unit caring for people with acute and chronic kidney disease, providing renal replacement therapies to inpatients and outpatients. Services include in-centre and outpatient Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Renal Transplant and Renal Supportive care.
- Working to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing and other clinical staff, sharing clinical expertise within haemodialysis nursing. of the Renal Ambulatory Care Unit which provides renal replacement therapies to inpatients and outpatients.
- Responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical education needs of the staff in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultants and Medical Stream Manager.
- Ensuring all staff, both transient and permanent, have equitable access to educational support and resources to enhance their clinical competence. Responsible for ensuring that the education delivered is current and based on the best available evidence.
- Ensuring evidence-based practice principles have been utilised in the development of policies and procedures within the clinical environment and broader organisation.
About you
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
- Clinical/educational post-graduate qualification with a minimum of 12 months experience in the relevant clinical area related to the qualification. Or alternatively 4 years post-registration experience including three years in the relevant specialist field.
- Certificate IV in workplace training and education or willingness to undertake within the first 12 months of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of innovative educational strategies, tools and approaches including e-learning. As well as a commitment to ongoing professional development of self and others.
