About the role:
We’re currently seeking an experienced CSSD Educator to join our supportive team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba on a permanent part basis (40 hours per fortnight). This is a great opportunity for a skilled educator to lead education, training and development within our Central Sterilising Services Department. You will be reporting to the CSSD Manager, providing an essential role to ensure that our CSSD department maintains the highest standards of exceptional care and patient safety.

About You
Significant recent experience in CSSD / sterilising services is essential
Certificate III in Sterilisation
Demonstrated experience of RMD reprocessing, infection prevention and control, traceability and quality systems
Ability to train, coach, assess competency and provide constructive feedback
Sound documentation, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
Commitment to WHS, manual handling, PPE and safe work practices
A positive work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain
Diploma of Sterilization Services or advanced reprocessing qualification is desirable along with your experience with AS 5369:2023 implementation, audits or quality improvement projects
Experience with endoscope reprocessing, loan sets or complex surgical instrumentation
Experience using electronic tracking systems and developing training resources

About the role
This role provides expert clinical care, leadership, and education in the management of diabetes across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The successful applicant will be expected to be able to provide evidence-based, clinically sound and holistic patient care in partnership with clients and their families and other health professionals.
Take an extended leadership role in the coordination of nursing and health care within and across different care contexts to facilitate optimal health outcomes.
Triage referrals, manage waitlists and lead multidisciplinary meetings, while collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders.
Practice independently and interdependently with an extended scope of practice, autonomy and decision making, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care workers
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
Commitment to ongoing professional development demonstrated through current Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) or working towards credentialling with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA).
Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment

Decontamination and high-level disinfection of reusable medical devices
Reprocessing of endoscopy equipment

About the Role
The Practice Development Nurse – Specialist, is responsible for supporting the professional development of all permanent and program staff across our clinical settings. About you

About the role
The Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) is a community-based, multidisciplinary service dedicated to supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Lead one of four primary Homeless Health Teams within HOT, providing nursing leadership and clinical oversight, with overall responsibility for budget and human resource management, while maintaining a strong focus on patient flow, patient care and service delivery.
Lead a community-based, multidisciplinary service dedicated to improving access to healthcare for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness through a person-centred, trauma-informed and harm-minimisation approach.
Work collaboratively with local health providers, housing services, government agencies and non-government organisations to deliver assessment, treatment, education, support, advocacy, referral and care coordination, and assisting clients to obtain and maintain safe and stable housing.
Oversee intake and referrals to the Homeless Health Service (HHS) through a "no wrong door" approach, ensuring people are connected to the right services regardless of how they enter the system.
Oversee daily health outreach clinics across multiple locations throughout the city, as well as street outreach, in partnership with government and community homelessness services, bringing healthcare directly to those who may otherwise face barriers to access.
Deliver brief interventions, health assessments, treatment, referral pathways and care coordination to support individuals in accessing mainstream health services of their choice.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Postgraduate tertiary qualification in a clinical specialty or management or a commitment to undertake postgraduate studies within 12 months; equivalent experience may be considered.
Demonstrated operational, financial, human resource and workplace health and safety management experience at a departmental level, with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

About the role
Deliver high-quality specialist assessment, psychosocial interventions, therapeutic sessions, and health education to clients who use methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA, including facilitating individual and group programs.

About You

Minimum five (5) years' experience in health administration, customer service or a similar healthcare support role.

Be the first point of contact for GambleAware South Eastern Sydney, conducting intake, triage and assessment, developing care plans and delivering brief counselling interventions to identify and respond to client treatment needs
Coordinate client case allocation, referrals and appropriate support for people affected by gambling, including emergency care where required
Deliver brief therapeutic telephone interventions using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy principles, while managing and de-escalating callers who may be distressed, frustrated or in crisis

About you
Relevant tertiary qualification in counselling or behavioural science, with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association

The intent of HIP is to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.
SVHM HIP consists of integrated hub sites across several locations including in Fitzroy, Kew, North Richmond and Fairfield. The Access, Rehab and Clinics Stream consists of multidisciplinary intake unit, outpatient rehabilitation programs and Specialist Clinics including the Continence Clinic which is currently based at Kew and Fitzroy. The Continence Clinic provides specialist assessment and management of both urinary and faecal incontinence to people over 16 years of age in the geographical areas of the Cities of Darebin, Yarra and Boroondara and Melbourne.
This position may be required to work from any of the SVHM HIP sites and may be required to work within any of the HIP programs. This will be at the discretion of the HIP manager and will take into consideration appropriate skills and training.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Continence Physiotherapist will coordinate the specialist assessment and management strategies for clients referred with continence problems including pelvic floor rehabilitation and pain. Educational, supervisory responsibilities, evaluation and quality improvement activities will also be undertaken.
POSITION DUTIES
Provide highly demonstrable specialist assessment and management interventions for both urinary and faecal incontinence and associated disorders.
Complete comprehensive and evidence based assessments, care planning and treatment especially pelvic floor rehabilitation for outpatient clients who are experiencing continence difficulties.
Conduct pelvic floor group program including evaluation
Evaluate treatment /management using appropriate objective measures
Participate in triage of referrals as required
Participate in patient goal setting at multidisciplinary case review meetings.
Provide specialist education and advice to colleagues and clients regarding continence management and pelvic floor rehabilitation
Manage the discharge process for clients
Work in close liaison with colleagues, other key service providers, families and careers relevant to caseload
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Continence team, HIP, referral sources and other agencies
Act as a key resource person within the Continence Service and HIP
Communicate client issues effectively with other team members
Identify opportunities for improvement of service delivery and implement approved strategies to address these.
Contribute to the ongoing development and updating of current departmental clinical literature and resources as requested.
Participate in project working groups / quality improvement initiatives to improve the service
Achieve activity targets and complete activity statistics by end of working week or 3rd day of next month (whichever comes first)
Complete medical record documentation to required standards and on the day of intervention
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Minimum of 7 years physiotherapy experience
- Knowledge of relevant continence specific community resources and services.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of current evidence based practices in the area of continence assessment, management and evaluation.
- Ability to assess and treat incontinence including undertaking vaginal and rectal examinations in women and rectal examinations in men, as appropriate.
- Ability to provide electrical stimulation and biofeedback training as appropriate in women and men.
- Ability to plan and carry out evaluative research in physiotherapy and continence practice at the level of beginning researcher.
- Demonstrated ability to work alone or within an interdisciplinary team.
- Highly developed organisational, planning and problem solving skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Highly developed documentation and computer skills with Microsoft office, Microsoft Word and Excel and
- Power Point.
- Well-developed teaching and education skills.
ESSENTIAL REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Postgraduate qualification in the treatment of continence and pelvic floor
