Vetcall Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced full-time veterinarian with a minimum of 3 years' small animal experience to join our established hospital. We value high standards of care, teamwork, and a life outside the clinic, offering a four-day week with limited Saturday mornings.

Our large team of 6-7 veterinarians provides support, with excellent nursing and reception staff, and opportunities to deepen surgical and diagnostic skills in a well equipped practice.

Great medicine. Great team. Great lifestyle.

Looking for a veterinary hospital where you can do the kind of medicine you're proud of, work alongside an experienced and genuinely supportive team, and still have a life outside the clinic?

We're looking for an experienced full-time veterinarian with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join our established small animal hospital on the Gold Coast.

We're particularly looking for someone with strong surgical skills. Ultrasound experience would be a fantastic bonus, but more importantly, we're looking for a veterinarian who values high standards of care, enjoys working as part of a team and wants to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Why you'll love working with us

We're a long-standing practice with a fantastic reputation in our local community. Our clients come to us because they know the standard of care we provide - not because we're the cheapest option.

We have a large, experienced team of 6-7 vets, with 4-5 vets working together each day, so you're never working in isolation. Our nursing team is exceptional, including two UK-qualified veterinary nurses, and our three receptionists are incredibly well liked by both the team and our clients.

We genuinely enjoy working together. Every morning we start with team rounds - coffee, a laugh, a plan for the day and a chance to check in with each other. We have generous scheduling, protected breaks and time built into the day for client call backs, liaising with specialists and discussing cases with your teammates.

And yes, we actually like each other outside work too. The team regularly socialises, including pickleball and hiking, and we're a very family friendly group.

The medicine

We're a well equipped hospital with:

• Full in house laboratory
• Excellent surgical facilities
• Visiting specialist orthopaedic surgeon
• Strong relationships with local referral and emergency hospitals

We see 30 minute consultations, allowing enough time to build relationships, investigate cases properly and provide the level of care our clients expect.

Our clientele is fantastic, with a high percentage of insured patients and strong wellness plan uptake. This means appropriate diagnostics and gold standard treatment recommendations are welcomed - you won't spend your day trying to convince clients why good medicine matters.

Our location also gives us a wonderfully varied caseload. We're on the fringe of the Gold Coast, bordering rural properties and the hinterland, so alongside your usual small animal medicine you'll see interesting cases including ticks, snakes and urgent care, as well as plenty of challenging internal medicine and surgical cases.

A team that will help you grow

The hospital is led by Dr Amy, an excellent mentor with exceptional surgical and internal medicine skills.

Across the team we have particular interests in:

• Ophthalmology
• Dentistry
• Holistic and integrative medicine
• Surgery and internal medicine

We also have a fantastic contract surgeon who visits for our orthopaedic cases two or three times a month, giving you the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced clinicians without needing to leave general practice.

We're fortunate to have three emergency clinics within 15km, meaning there is no after hours work. We have strong relationships with the other veterinary practices in our area and we believe in working collaboratively rather than competitively when it comes to patient care.

The lifestyle

This is the Gold Coast, after all.

You'll have a 4 day working week, with no more than 1 in 4 Saturdays. Saturday clinics are only four hours (8am-12pm) and are run as wellness clinics - vaccinations and routine preventative care rather than complex and unwell appointments.

No after hours. No endless weekends. No sacrificing your life outside the clinic.

Instead, you'll have a genuinely supportive team, interesting medicine, excellent clients and a lifestyle that makes the Gold Coast such a great place to live.

Who we're looking for

You'll ideally have:

• Minimum 3 years' small animal veterinary experience
• Strong surgical skills and confidence managing routine soft tissue surgery
• An interest in high quality diagnostic work ups and gold standard patient care
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• A team first attitude
• The ability to work efficiently within a 30 minute consultation model
• Ultrasound experience would be highly regarded

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to do good medicine, be part of a great team and enjoy coming to work.

If you're looking for a practice where you can continue to grow clinically without giving up your evenings, weekends and life outside work, we'd love to hear from you.

Come and meet us, have a coffee, see the hospital and get a feel for the team.
