About the DepartmentThe main laboratory of the Anatomical Pathology Unit is located at The Alfred campus with a significant anatomical pathology laboratory located at the new Footscray Hospital. The Unit comprises 6 diagnostic sections; Histopathology, Cytopathology, Special Histopathology (In situ Hybridisation, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry & Autoantibody Serology), Neuromuscular laboratory, Mortuary and solid tumour molecular pathology. A broad range of diagnostic histology and non-gynaecological cytology specimens are processed by the Unit and incorporate the work of Alfred and Western Health.

Qualifications and Skills RequiredOur preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time/Part Time position to until 2032. Located at Sunshine, moving to Melton during 2027.
RCH mental health operates as part of a broader multidisciplinary team at the Children's Local delivering the mental health services in the Brimbank Melton hub. This role supports integration between secondary care and tertiary services in, allowing families to seamlessly move up and down the tiers of the system as their mental health challenges change. The team coordinator contributes to service integration, workforce leadership, partnership development as well as operational management.
Classification for this position will range from:
- Occupational Therapist Grade 5 Year 1 - Year 4 (AJ11-AJ14)
- Social Worker Grade 5 Year 1 - Year 4 (AJ57-AJ60)
- Speech Pathologist Grade 5 Year 1 - Year 4 (AJ20-AJ23)
FTE base salary 148K circa per annum, plus superannuation. Full time or 0.9 negotiable until June 30, 2032.
What you'll achieve:
- Deliver the mental health model of care in the context of the broader Local model of care
- Ensure all services are delivered in accordance to relational and functional recovery principles while using evidence based interventions
- Be an active, productive and consistent part of the Local Leadership Team
- Ensure the service is delivered within the prescribed annual operational budget.
- Strengthen referral pathways and working relationships between the Local and the level 5 tertiary service, also operated by the RCH Mental Health Service
Your skills and experience
- Clinical experience in a tertiary mental health setting, preferably working with infant and children and their families
- Experience in supervising staff and students
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and behaviours in successfully leading staff / teams and or change initiatives.

The RCH mental health service works with young people 0-18 years in the West and North West. Our community team provides evidence based recovery services to children aged between 0-11, while our acute inpatient unit provides tertiary level treatment services. We centre everything we do on the child/young person and embrace collaboration and extensive partnerships to do this.

Our Children's Ward cares for inpatients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, admitting approximately 5,000 children per year. There are approximately 30,000 Paediatric Emergency presentations per year, and General Paediatrics works closely with the team in the Paediatric Emergency department. There is a busy General Paediatric Outpatient unit, and trainees get plenty of (well-supported) experience in our clinics. There are also a number of paediatric subspecialty outpatient services including cardiology, allergy, adolescent medicine, dermatology and endocrinology.
