About The Opportunity
This is a Permanent full time position for a Staff Specialist with Campbelltown and Camden Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department. This position will also serve as a temporary appointment as the Obstetrics Head of Department for the remainder of Quinquennium.
What You'll be doing
Review and monitor women attending obstetric outpatient services who receive a consistent woman centered quality service across Antenatal clinics, Feto-Maternal Assessment Unit & Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit.
- Provide clinical governance & obstetric leadership for Birthing unit policy and procedure development
- Active surveillance of obstetric KPIs including maternal & perinatal morbidity and mortality
- Review and monitor postpartum care of women in the hospital and via the midwifery-support program at home following early discharge
- Develop and expand models of care to meet the needs of women, including continuity of care high risk and low-risk midwifery models, as well as GPSC
- Focus on improving obstetric outcomes for vulnerable women including Aboriginal, CALD, migrant and refugee groups, and women with identified psycho-social vulnerabilities.

The CMO is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
The CMO is also expected to be proficient at both neonatal and paediatric resuscitation. They will be exposed to a broad range of developmental and behavioural problems, and they are expected to undertake the assessments as part of the multidisciplinary teams and independently where required. They will be expected to assess children at risk and complete a PANOC assessment when required. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
The CMO is expected to supervise and educate junior medical staff and students. They will participate in ongoing professional development, system improvement activities and research.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under consultant supervision, in a complex clinical environment particularly in the domains of clinical judgment and communication.
- Excellent procedural skills including venepuncture, cannulation, lumbar puncture, urinary catheter insertion or supra-pubic aspirate collection; neonatal chest drain insertion, and umbilical lines insertion.
- Demonstrated advanced neonatal and paediatric resuscitation skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to changing situations in a busy and unpredictable clinical environment.

Bowral provides pregnancy and birthing care for approximately 550 women a year as a Level 3 Maternity service. About The Opportunity
COPILOT is a dynamic and exciting service that provides rapid access to multi-disciplinary geriatric assessment (medical, nursing, and allied health) for older people living in the community setting. Referral enables care to be implemented in the patient's home environment, whether that be in RACH's or their own homes, avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital and leading to improved patient outcomes.
The COPILOT VMO will provide a high quality clinical service to older people and their families/carers to optimise health outcomes and support clients keeping well in the community. The VMO will provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and evidence-based care to clients residing in their own homes or nursing homes for acute care with the goal of avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital.
The COPILOT VMO will need strong clinical leadership and decision making skills, have relevant clinical experience in the Aged Care speciality, and preferentially experience in providing community-based care both in a direct and virtual capacity. The position requires compliance with mandatory clinical administration duties, and participation in an on-call roster. The successful candidate should have strong communication skills, be efficient and have excellent time-management skills, and a willingness to join a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary district-wide service.
