What you'll be doing
As an Enrolled Nurse, you'll provide direct nursing care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, contributing to positive outcomes for people accessing mental health services.
Deliver safe, compassionate care aligned with individual nursing care plans and client needs.
Undertake observations and assessments, recognise changes in health status and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
Support clients with activities of daily living, comfort and emotional wellbeing to promote independence and recovery.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement and health care information.
Collaborate with Registered Nurses and the broader multidisciplinary team while practising within your scope of practice, NSW Health policies and professional standards.

Registration: Current Endorsed Enrolled Nurse Division 2 Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

The successful applicant will be committed to delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centred care. This includes maintaining clear communication with clinicians across the organisation and with external medical practitioners, ensuring timely treatment planning, effective patient handover and transfer of care. A high standard of clinical documentation is expected, including appropriate use of the electronic medical record, role-based messaging and departmental databases. The Fellow will provide reliable and responsive on-call services, attending within thirty minutes of call or within a timeframe consistent with the needs of the specialty as approved by the facility.
The Fellow will contribute to an intellectual environment that supports high-quality medical research, applying evidence-based principles to clinical practice and participating in approved research and audit activities such as NSQIP and the ANZ Emergency Laparotomy Audit, while encouraging peers, registrars and resident medical officers to do likewise. They will organise and deliver education sessions, teach effectively at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and provide "on the job" training during ward rounds, clinics and operating sessions. Supervision and mentorship of medical students, junior medical staff and trainees is a core expectation, including regular teaching in line with HETI guidelines and participation in staff appraisal. Finally, the Fellow will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement by supporting a "no blame" culture and actively engaging in clinical governance, risk management, audit, peer review, morbidity and mortality meetings, adverse event monitoring, root cause analysis, and clinical practice improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient care.

Essential Requirements:
1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award/ Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
2. Sound clinical knowledge in emergency General Surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Sub-specialty focus in an area of general surgery (especially colorectal, oesophago-gastric, hepatobiliary, hernia) advantageous
3. Demonstrated commitment to the maintenance and further development of skills applicable to General Surgery, including involvement in further education and quality assurance activities.
4. A commitment to the provision of teaching including medical, nursing and allied health professional staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to research.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership where required
Selection Criteria :
1.Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the general surgery.
2.Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for thespecialty including GESA certification or sub-specialty training in general surgery.

Coordinate the equipment lifecycle — from procurement and implementation through to servicing, upgrades, storage and replacement.
Provide expert advice, education and practical troubleshooting support to ICU staff.
Evaluate new equipment and technologies, facilitate trials and translate frontline feedback into recommendations.
Work with Biomedical and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and minimise disruption to clinical services.
Monitor quality, safety, compliance and cost-effectiveness while contributing to planning, audits and service improvement.

Successful applicants will be a specialist in intensive care medicine holding FCICM. They must have sound clinical knowledge and experience of working in similar intensive care units. They are expected to have excellent communication and leadership skills, and non-clinical and administrative experience required for a large intensive care unit. Applicant must be willing to contribute to the ICS clinical roster, and non-clinical workload of the service as directed by the head of department.
This is a Fixed Term appointment for the period 1 February 2027 to 6 February 2028.
Western Sydney Local Health District is responsible for the provision of health services to the local government area comprised of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd, and Parramatta and tertiary care. These services are provided through several hospitals and community-based facilities located strategically across the district.
Western Sydney Local Health District is committed to achieving continuous quality improvement in client services within a Quality Management framework, with a supporting Strategic Plan aimed at the continuous improvement of all facilities. The district has individual facilities located at Westmead, Cumberland, Auburn, Blacktown and Mount Druitt.
Westmead Hospital Intensive Care Service (ICS) is a tertiary care facility, with a throughput of 3200 admissions per annum. The ICS admits critically ill trauma, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery medical and surgical patients.
Westmead ICS operates as a Level 1 Neuro-Trauma facility and serves as the designated cardio-thoracic referral center for adult congenital heart disease. The unit comprises 49 beds distributed across four zones, including a 12-bed specialty zone dedicated to cardio-thoracic patients. The ICU manages a comprehensive case mix of complex medical and surgical patients, Haematology cases, and renal transplant recipients. In addition to standard intensive care services, the unit operates extensive extracorporeal life support programs, including Veno-venous and Veno-arterial ECMO, and provides extracorporeal CPR services for both in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest referrals..
The ICS Staff Specialist provides clinical leadership in best practice care to critically ill patients, and in the supervision of junior staff.
Selection Criteria:1.Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the college of Intensive Care Medicine as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.2.Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.3.A minimum of 1-year post-CICM Fellowship experience as a consultant or post graduate fellow in Intensive Care Medicine, within a tertiary ICU in Australia or New Zealand.4.Demonstrated sound and broad clinical knowledge and experience in Intensive Care Medicine, with capacity for safe, independent consultant-level decision-making.5.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially within a multidisciplinary team.6.Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to the clinical and operational requirements of a busy tertiary Intensive Care Service and integrate positively within an established team.7.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across specialty and organizational boundaries, with an understanding of the role of Intensive Care within the broader hospital and health service.8.Demonstrated commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, evidence-based practice and patient safety.9.Demonstrated commitment to supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and trainees, including simulation-based education.10.Demonstrated interest and experience in research, audit and/or service development within Intensive Care Medicine. This position is being advertised for the current quinquennium period, which concludes on 30 June 2027. The position may be readvertised for the new quinquennium commencing 1 July 2027, and applicants are encouraged to reapply at that time.
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department is seeking to recruit a General Practitioner (GP), Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to support the weekly General Practitioner Shared Care (GPSC) antenatal clinic at Westmead Hospital. Appointment to this position is critical to maintaining and expanding the GPSC model of care, which provides pregnant women with the option of receiving high-quality, continuity-based antenatal care from a trusted General Practitioner within their local community.
The GPSC model plays a vital role in reducing demand for hospital-based outpatient appointments, improving access to care, and enhancing the patient experience through greater choice, continuity, and convenience. Continued investment in this model supports both service sustainability and the delivery of patient-centred maternity care across Western Sydney.
The role will:
• Assist in the antenatal care and care co-ordination of pregnant women allocated to the GPSC antenatal model of care. This is a low risk antenatal care model where visits are shared by a Woman’s GP and midwives and obstetricians at Westmead Hospital.
• Act as a liaison between GPs working within the program and Westmead Hospital midwives and obstetricians.
• Act as a liaison between WentWest and Westmead Hospital.
• Be responsible for co-ordination of the GP obstetric education program provided by WentWest and Westmead Hospital.
Essential Requirements
1.Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Diploma of the RANZCOG or Certificate of Women’s Health RANZCOG. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
2.Sound clinical knowledge in Antenatal Care demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position

Your Experience
We are looking for a qualified health care professional with:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant post-registration qualifications in Primary, Emergency OR Chronic and Complex Care.

The Role
Our Clinical Nurse Specialists in Primary Care deliver care to adult patients who suffer from acute or chronic illnesses in the custodial setting. This position is required to interface effectively with staff, managers and other service providers within Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Heath NSW), Corrective Service New South Wales (CSNSW) custodial and program staff and external service providers.
The position holder will work within Justice Health NSW and NSW Health policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as CSNSW rules and regulations as set out in the relevant legislation.
The position provides support to Justice Health NSW clinicians to assist with the continuity of care, case management, transfer of care into the community, post release follow-up as required for patients and responsibility and accountability for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of primary care services, including the co-ordination and monitoring of service provision.
Our Location
Dillwynia Correctional Centre, located in Berkshire Park in Western Sydney, is a minimum-security facility for women focused on rehabilitation and community reintegration. Area 1 includes health services and residential units where Registered Nurses play a vital role in delivering primary healthcare within a multidisciplinary team. The centre offers a safe, structured work environment with on-site parking and is approximately one hour from Sydney CBD.

Join the Adolescent Acute Unit (AAU) at Westmead Hospital, a specialist 9-bed inpatient service caring for young people aged 12–18 experiencing acute mental illness. The unit provides intensive, individualised treatment for adolescents with complex and often treatment-resistant mental health conditions.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse – Mental Health, you will provide high-quality clinical care that promotes the psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing of young people experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with consumers, families and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, coordinated and recovery-focused care.
Provide evidence-based nursing care across the mental health spectrum, including comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention and evaluation.
Develop therapeutic relationships with young people and their families, supporting engagement, safety and positive mental health outcomes.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate treatment and achieve individualised care goals.
Monitor and respond to changes in mental health presentation, escalating concerns and contributing to timely clinical review.
Maintain professional standards through accurate clinical documentation, clinical supervision, professional development and continuous improvement.

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
Registered Nurse who has completed a new graduate RN program or experience working as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute mental health problem
Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team within minimal direct clinical supervision
Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems
Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding mental health care
An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice
Current NSW drivers licence
