1. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice,
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
6. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
7. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster
8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Bankstown Older Persons Community Mental Health Service, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting older people experiencing mental health concerns within the community. In this rewarding role, you will provide expert clinical leadership and specialist mental health care to older consumers across a range of settings, including their homes and residential aged care facilities. Working closely with consumers, families, carers, GPs, aged care providers and community partners, you will play a key role in delivering recovery-oriented, person-centred and culturally responsive care that promotes mental wellbeing, independence and quality of life.
Are You the Right Fit?
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate mental health clinician with a passion for supporting older people. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in mental health assessment, care planning and complex case management, along with the ability to provide consultation, leadership and support to multidisciplinary teams. You will be committed to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and consumer-centred care, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience working with older persons, developing clinical initiatives, mentoring staff, and contributing to service planning and education programs will be highly regarded.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation
- Describe a time when you provided expert clinical advice and developed a care management plan for an older person with complex mental health needs in a community setting. How did you involve carers and other health professionals in the process, and what was the outcome?
- How have you contributed to the development or delivery of education programs or clinical service planning within a mental health specialty? Please include examples of how you incorporated research findings or upheld professional standards in your practice.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.

About The Opportunity
COPILOT is a dynamic and exciting service that provides rapid access to multi-disciplinary geriatric assessment (medical, nursing, and allied health) for older people living in the community setting. Referral enables care to be implemented in the patient’s home environment, whether that be in RACH's or their own homes, avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital and leading to improved patient outcomes.
The COPILOT VMO will provide a high quality clinical service to older people and their families/carers to optimise health outcomes and support clients keeping well in the community. The VMO will provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and evidence-based care to clients residing in their own homes or nursing homes for acute care with the goal of avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital.
The COPILOT VMO will need strong clinical leadership and decision making skills, have relevant clinical experience in the Aged Care speciality, and preferentially experience in providing community-based care both in a direct and virtual capacity. The position requires compliance with mandatory clinical administration duties, and participation in an on-call roster. The successful candidate should have strong communication skills, be efficient and have excellent time-management skills, and a willingness to join a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary district-wide service.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Advanced Trainee in Paediatrics at Blacktown-Mt Druitt Hospital is to provide effective clinical management of Paediatric patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in Paediatric practice, in a complex environment. The Advanced Trainee (Paediatrics) works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
It is expected that the Advance Trainee has been exposed to all aspects of general paediatrics medicine and is able to competently assess children presenting to the Emergency department across both sites (BMDH) and make appropriate provisional diagnoses and management plan. The Advanced Trainee is also expected to be proficient at both neonatal and paediatric resuscitation. The trainee will be working as part of a team to provide holistic medical care for paediatric and neonatal inpatients. The Trainee is also expected to review patients in Paediatric Ambulatory Care clinics at Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospital. The Advance Trainee will be exposed to a broad range of developmental and behavioural problems and they are expected to undertake the assessments as part of the multidisciplinary teams and independently where required. The Advance Trainee will be expected to assess children at risk and complete a SCAN (Suspected child abuse and Neglect) assessment when required.
The Advance Trainee will also provide consultation and advice regarding pain, fluid management and drug doses to the paediatric surgical patients admitted at Blacktown hospital and assess children presenting to Blacktown Emergency department and arrange transfer to a paediatric facility if appropriate.
- Advanced Trainees work across both sites and across 3 units.
- Participate in after-hours rosters including nights and weekends.
- A shift work roster of mostly 12.5 hours shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
- The roster also includes "sick-on-call" shifts where they may be required to fill a shift within the specified 24 hour period at short notice.
- Advanced Trainees may be the most senior paediatric doctor onsite overnight.
- Advanced Trainees will have the opportunity to partake in General Paediatric Outpatient Clinics.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the clinical duties of the role in a variety of clinical settings and proficiency in basic and advanced Paediatric and Neonatal resuscitation.
- Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Advanced communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Advanced clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.

Intensive care service in Westmead hospital includes 36 general, and 10 post cardiothoracic surgical ICU beds. General ICU bed numbers have expanded by 50% in early 2020. Cardiothoracic ICU has also recently moved into a newly built ICU pod. Common ICU admissions include complex medical cases such as sepsis, severe respiratory or cardiac failure, complicated bone marrow transplant, and surgical cases including trauma, neurosurgery, vascular, cardiothoracic, ENT, plastic surgery, urology, upper GI, hepatobiliary, and colorectal procedures.
What you'll be doing
WSLHD - JMO - Advanced Trainee - Medical Oncology - Research
This role is principally involved in clinical research projects including clinical trials and translational research in all cancers. The research unit undertakes phase 1,2,3 trials in all cancer types with a recent emphasis on novel immunotherapy agents. Also undertake a number of in-house studies.
The role includes the clinical care of patients enrolled on clinical trials, including attending outpatient clinics and treatment clinics
There are opportunities to gain more in depth exposure to specific tumour groups e.g melanoma, lung, GU, GI, Gynae as per the needs of the successful candidates.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- FRACP Part 1 Completed 2 core years of advanced training in Medical Oncology
- Previous experience in Medical oncology & Basic knowledge of the process of undertaking clinical trials in cancer.
- Excellent organisational, attention to detail and communication skills (both written and verbal) including the ability to exercise a high level of initiative, tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive, confidential matters
- Demonstrated experience in clinical research, as evidenced by contribution in conception and study design, data collection and assembly, manuscript writing, drafting reports & other documents
- Experience in co-ordinating the day to day activities of patients and motivating clinical trial staff to achieve optimal results.

Full participation in after hours on call as required.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

Westmead Hospital is a key facility of one of Australia’s largest major health and medical research precincts and is the principal referral hospital for Western Sydney Local Health District providing district level health services to Parramatta, Holroyd and The Hills Shire LGAs including tertiary and quaternary services to greater western Sydney, greater metropolitan Sydney, rural NSW and other states. Westmead Hospital provides approximately 638 acute overnight, 30 day only and 52 subacute beds. The Westmead Health Precinct currently under development is envisaged to be the biggest hospital building project undertaken in Western Sydney and will transform the iconic but ageing Westmead Hospital into an innovative, contemporary and integrated centre that will continue to deliverhigh quality healthcare and expand the education, health and research capability of the area.
Westmead Hospital is a leading centre of research, training and specialisations in all fields of medicine and dentistry, providing services in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, cancer care, obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatal intensive care, trauma, bone marrow transplantation, critical care, aged care and rehabilitation, adult acute psychiatry (networked with the co-located Cumberland Hospital) as well as other highly specialised medical and surgical services.
The Westmead Hospital Emergency Department (ED) operates 24 hours, 7 days per week and manages all types and levels of illnesses and injuries. As one of six major trauma centres in the state, the ED also cares for people with the most severe physical injuries.
Westmead Hospital ED presentation numbers are among the highest in the state. Critical care services within Westmead Hospital are provided by the Intensive care unit and the medical and surgical high dependency units. Over 120 different outpatient clinics for a number of different specialities and services provide ambulatory care to approximately 5,000 attendances per month.
The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead is a purpose-built state of the art facility based at Westmead Hospital. The Centre provides fully integrated research, prevention, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation programs for patients and families coping with cancer. Palliative care and symptom control support, genetic counselling via the familial cancer service and Psych Oncology support via an onsite psychiatrist and psychologists is also provided at the Cancer Centre. - Provision of surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care of surgical oncology unit patients, undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research.

· Daily duties include patient assessment, documentation in patient records, preparation of discharge summaries, ordering, and reviewing investigations, performing ICU procedures such as line insertion, communicating with other specialty teams and patients’ family members.
· Advanced trainees are expected to be relatively independent in assessing patients, formulating a management plan, managing airways, inserting central venous and arterial lines, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation under the supervision of a more senior member of intensive care team.
· Advanced trainees participate in the Trauma calls, attend emergencies on the wards as a member of hospital based clinical emergency response system (CERS), and review patients referred to ICU from wards, ED, and recovery unit. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are crucial to maximise performance while on these duties.
· Advanced trainees are expected to lead and contribute to the supervision of more junior medical staff and participate in teaching activities.

WSLHD - Provisional Fellow – Maternal Fetal Medicine (Accredited)
The primary purpose of the position is to provide high quality obstetric and maternal and fetal medicine care in addition to gynaecological care to patients in a tertiary maternal fetal medicine unit. The goal during the RANZCOG advanced training program is to develop professional maturity and increased expertise in high risk obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine, tertiary obstetrics and gynaecological ultrasound The Provisional Fellow will work under the supervision of senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG subspecialty committee in MFM.

KEY OPPORTUNITIES:
• The accredited maternal fetal medicine fellow position is accredited for training in CMFM, RANZCOG.
• The position is most suited for a trainee accepted into the RANZCOG CMFM fellow training program. A trainee not accredited with the RANZCOG CMFM trainee program may be considered for this position and will be provided with the opportunity to gain the experience required to apply for CMFM training.
• Westmead MFM service is the largest tertiary referral center in the state of NSW and has opportunities for fetal procedures as well as management and follow through of patients with complex fetal anomalies referred for ongoing care that will be delivered at Westmead Hospital and subsequently transferred to Children’s Hospital.
• The hospital also provides care to many complex maternal medical conditions in pregnancy through dedicated antenatal clinics.
• There is close liaison with maternal medicine services providing opportunity to learn from renal, hematology, cardiology and various other services who work as part of an MDT Team.
• The role provides opportunity to discuss in depth outcomes on fetal anomalies in monthly surgical meetings with pediatric surgeons.
• Fortnightly genetics sessions to discuss management and care of genetic conditions, fetal syndromes with our expert geneticists.
• Access to training and performing over 150 fetal diagnostic procedures amniocentesis, chorionic villous sampling, fetal transfusion, amnioreduction, fetal cavity aspiration and shunt placement.
• Access to statewide perinatal pathology unit at Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Orientation
Hospital Orientation occurs at the beginning of each term for all doctors new to the individual hospital.
The department of O&G provides an orientation manual to all medical staff working in the department.
For Hospital Orientation most hospital programs include similar features. Included are examples of topics covered in orientation at each hospital. Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District is responsible for the provision of health services to the local government area comprised of Auburn, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Holroyd, and Parramatta. These services are provided through a number of hospital and community-based facilities located strategically across the District.

What you'll be doing
WSLHD - Provisional Fellow – Maternal Fetal Medicine (Un-Accredited)
The primary purpose of the position is to provide high quality obstetric and maternal and fetal medicine care in addition to gynaecological care to patients in a tertiary maternal fetal medicine unit. The goal during the RANZCOG advanced training program is to develop professional maturity and increased expertise in high risk obstetrics, maternal fetal medicine, tertiary obstetrics and gynaecological ultrasound The Provisional Fellow will work under the supervision of senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG subspecialty committee in MFM.

The Training Program
Westmead Hospital is an accredited training hospital for RANZCOG and Maternal Fetal Medicine training.
The Training Network
Westmead Hospital and secondment Hospitals, including but not limited to Westmead Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, San Private Hospital, Auburn Hospital, Blacktown Hospital and Westmead Childrens Hospital.
Training Opportunities
The training opportunities available in the position of Provisional Fellow (Maternal Fetal Medicine Unaccredited) include:
• Development of ultrasound skills with a specific focus on Maternal Fetal Medicine.
• Education via regular structured and unstructured teaching and education
• Access to support for research, audits and patient safety and quality improvement projects.
• Development of skills in management of both admitted and outpatients.
• Development of skills and knowledge specific to the treatment and care of women and families requiring specialist Maternal Fetal Medical care.
Orientation
Hospital Orientation occurs at the beginning of each term for all doctors new to the individual hospital.The department of O&G provides an orientation manual to all medical staff working in the department.
Hospital Orientation covers the following: hospital tour, RSU services (pay, timesheets etc.), medico-legal issues, occupational health and safety, pharmacy, patient flow, computer access and teaching schedule. In addition, orientation will be provided for infection control, medical emergency calling system, deteriorating patient and death and cremation certificates.
Supervision Arrangements
The Provisional Fellow (Maternal Fetal Medicine Unaccredited) is supervised by the training supervisors and the other consultants as indicated.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Applicants with experience in tertiary obstetric ultrasound will be preferred
- Be able to deliver ultrasound services to pregnant women with senior supervision is expected
- Experience in teaching junior medical staff
- Interest in research, audit and quality assurance projects undertaken by the department .
- Current registration as a trainee with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (or eligible for) and intent to obtain Fellowship of the College

SWSLHD- Community Child Health Fellow - Child Protection/Vulnerable Child - STP
To provide Community Paediatric services for children and adolescents at risk including comprehensive assessment of children and young people at risk, and to obtain advanced training in Community Child Health fields of Population Child Health, Social and Ambulatory Paediatrics, Child Protection and Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics.
The fellow position offers trainees the opportunity to work with multi-disciplinary teams in a variety of clinical settings involving vulnerable families and children. The fellow participates in refugee paediatric clinics and out-of-home care clinics, as well as working with paediatric Aboriginal populations. They are involved in the clinical assessment of acute child protection cases, and follow-up of at-risk children and families. There are opportunities for the fellow to be involved in developmental screening clinics, as well as the research and population health activities of the department.

What you'll be doing

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an advanced trainee or equivalent. Those registered with the RACP, should have preferably completed a minimum 6 months as an advanced trainee with RACP (or equivalent) at the commencement of Fellowship.
- 6 months experience in relevant subspecialty or equivalent. Please detail relevant experience
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
- Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
- Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
- Able to meet on call requirements of the individual positions.
