Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Advanced Trainee to complement and enhance the current Sexual Health Medicine department.

Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

What you'll be doing
.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- A minimum of 3 years full time postgraduate experience in Hospital or other settings.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated team work, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience or interest in and willing to undergo further training in HIV and Sexual Health Medicine as directed by the Supervisor.
- Demonstrated commitment to relevant training program and related medical experience in relevant specialties with good organisation, time management skills and commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Commitment to medical education, quality practice and research.

Where you'll be working

The unit is staffed by specialist Paediatric Nurses and Paediatricians and works with allied health professionals who provide additional support services.

Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service.
The hospital is an acute regional referral hospital of 280 beds on the Far North Coast of NSW, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW and has a busy Emergency Department (40,000 presentations annually), ICU and Coronary Care Unit, as well as Surgery (general, orthopaedic and speciality surgery), Paediatrics, Mental Health, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. The medical officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
The position supports meeting the requirements for Paediatric training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. The medical officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
The position supports meeting the requirements for Paediatric training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

What you'll be doing
Infectious Diseases Advanced Trainees provide a high standard of clinical care to Infectious Diseases inpatients, outpatients, and consultation patients, under the supervision of specialist Infectious Diseases physicians and Medical Microbiologists and in the context of fulfilling the requirements of the RACP for Advanced Training in Infectious Diseases. The role also includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments.
Trainees will fulfil the service requirements of their department, which may include attendance and participation in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical meetings, journal clubs; supervision and education of junior medical staff; and active participation in antimicrobial stewardship, infection control and/or ambulatory care programs. Each hospital will have differing service requirements reflecting the individual identity of each institution and the different populations (e.g. spinal or burns patients) and sub-specialities (e.g. hepatitis or HIV) accommodated at each of the different hospitals.
The Advanced Trainee will also be involved in clinical management of patients in the outpatient setting which may include Immunology/Infectious Disease, HIV, Hepatitis, and Sexual Health Clinics.

What you'll be doing
The Unaccredited Trainee will medically manage conditions such as acute and chronic coronary disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease including endocarditis, and hypertension, with initial management of arrhythmias and pericardial disease, basic adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension, and prevention of heart disease; and undertake supervised general medical management of patients admitted to the Cardiology department.
The Unaccredited Trainee will undertake dedicated terms for procedures including coronary angiography, echocardiography, electrophysiology and other procedural and clinical aspects relevant to Cardiology. Networked positions may include rural, regional or outer metropolitan rotations.
The doctor is a key person who works closely with all members of staff and must:

Apply now for an Unaccredited Trainee (PGY4+) in Emergency Medicine position within the Richmond Network. The successful applicants will gain valuable experience in our hospitals, working under the guidance of highly experienced senior clinicians. Candidates will have the opportunity to complete terms at Lismore, Ballina and Casino hospitals.
Our ideal candidates will be PGY4+ at the time of commencement and able to commence employment within the current clinical year. Candidates will be required to participate in a 24/7 roster that includes day, evening and night shifts.
Education: We offer weekly education sessions, facilitated by Dr Martin Duffy (ACEM Educator of the year 2021), including simulation, clinical skills, case reviews, and buddy shifts with FACEM. SRMOs are supported by EMET Lismore Hub providing access to multiple workshops including paediatric emergencies, procedural skills, ultrasound and airway management.
Career Progression: Following your Unaccredited year, you can progress to Emergency Medicine Training at Lismore Base Hospital. LBH is accredited for 36 months of training as a Trainee Stage 1-3, 6 months as Trainee Stage 4 (Lismore ED), and 3 months as Trainee Stage 4 (non-ED Medical Education). Our ED Registrar positions offer opportunities to rotate to ACEM accredited terms in Retrieval, Anaesthetics, ICU, Medical Education and Ultrasound.

Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) is the recognised Trauma Centre for the North Coast Region and is linked with the local helicopter retrieval service. The Lismore Base Hospital (LBH) Emergency Department (ED) sees over 40,000 adult and paediatric presentations per year and is a regional trauma centre.
The department includes modern facilities such as a 4-bed resuscitation and procedure bay, acute zone, an ED short stay unit (EDSSU), fast tract and medical imaging services.
LBH ED also supports Richmond Network hospitals including Ballina District Hospital (18,000 presentations per annum) and Casino Memorial District Hospital (14,000 presentations per annum), and Multipurpose Centres located at Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville and Bonalbo.
We are an affiliated teaching hospital for medical students from the University of Sydney, University of Wollongong, University of Western Sydney and Bond University. The hospital has a strong commitment to teaching and support for its Junior Medical Officers.

What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the trainee’s skills, knowledge and experience. The Medical Officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.

What you'll be doing
The Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN) practices above the level of a registered nurse, working within a primary healthcare model with families who have infants and/or young children 0-5 years.
This position will be involved in the provision of quality child and family health nurse services to families within the Western Sydney Local Health District. This will be achieved by the nurse working with a strength-based, wellness focus, building parental confidence and skills through the provision of information, resources, interventions, guidance and role modelling safe responsive care. The nurse, utilises evidenced based screening tools and assessment to identify health variations or vulnerabilities to negotiate an individual care plan and interventions that meet the needs of the family.

·Registration: Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Registered Nurse Division 1
Selection Criteria:
1.Postgraduate qualification relevant to performing the role of a Child and Family Health Nurse, or currently enrolled in a tertiary course with completion date within 12 months of employment.
2.Evidence of post registration experience working with families and young children; including those from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
3.Understanding of, and commitment to, evidence based practice.
4.Demonstrated experience in assessment of the physical, social and emotional needs of children, and their families.
5.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of population health and primary health care.
6.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to utilise information technology systems within a variety of applications and a commitment to undertaking training in electronic health record systems
7.Demonstrate effective verbal, written communication and negotiation skills.
8.Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purposes.
