Lead Veterinarian - AdelaideVet Goodwood Rd
VetPartners Australia Pty View all jobs

Lead Veterinarian AdelaideVet Goodwood Road
Step into leadership without stepping away from the medicine you love
Imagine walking into a purpose-built clinic where the foundations are already in place: excellent facilities, quality equipment and, most importantly, a close-knit team who genuinely care about one another and their patients.
They are capable, passionate and ready to grow.
The only thing missing is an experienced veterinary leader to help guide the way.
At AdelaideVet Goodwood Road, you will have the opportunity to shape the clinic's next chapter - building on an already positive team culture, supporting the development of those around you and creating a clinical environment you are proud to lead.
Your impact starts from day one
You begin your morning checking in with the team. A veterinarian wants to talk through a case, a nurse has an idea that could improve the patient journey, and there is an opportunity to make a small change that will make everyone's day run a little more smoothly.
You listen, support and bring people together.
Later, you are back in consult or surgery, continuing to practise the medicine you love while helping others grow in confidence around you.
This is leadership that stays connected to the clinic floor. You will be present, approachable and trusted - someone the team can learn from, bounce ideas off and turn to when they need guidance.
You will also have genuine scope to influence how the clinic develops. From clinical standards and team capability to workflow, culture and future services, your leadership will help pave the way forward.
You'll be supported, too
Stepping into a Lead Veterinarian role does not mean having to lead alone.
AdelaideVet has multiple clinics located nearby, giving you access to an established network of passionate and experienced veterinarians. You will be able to collaborate on cases, share ideas and learn from other veterinary leaders across the AdelaideVet community.
Beyond AdelaideVet, you will also be connected to the broader VetPartners network - opening the door to further clinical development, leadership support and relationships with experienced veterinary professionals across Australia and New Zealand.
Whether you want to strengthen your leadership style, further develop a clinical interest or simply have experienced colleagues to call when you need another perspective, you will have a strong professional community around you.
A clinic ready for your leadership
AdelaideVet Goodwood Road is a purpose-built clinic designed to support high-quality veterinary care.
With excellent facilities and equipment already available, you can focus on delivering great clinical outcomes, developing your team and helping the clinic reach its full potential.
You will be joining a warm, close-knit group who enjoy working together and are invested in the clinic's success. They are not looking for someone to come in and change who they are - they are looking for a leader who will recognise their strengths, help them continue growing and give them the confidence and direction to thrive.
Don't just take it from me, hear from our incredible Head Nurse
"What makes Goodwood Road special is the people and the way everyone works together. There's a supportive atmosphere where people are approachable, and a good balance between working hard and enjoying what we do. Our vets and nurses work closely together, with open communication, trust and a shared focus on the best care for our patients and clients.
Everyone's ideas are valued, and we're supported to suggest improvements and explore positive changes together. Since joining AdelaideVet/VetPartners, I've grown both professionally and personally. Progressing into my role as Head Nurse has been really rewarding, helping me develop my clinical and nursing skills alongside my leadership, communication and team-management skills."
- Prascila, Head Nurse What you'll bring
You are an experienced veterinarian who is ready to make a meaningful impact.
You may already be working in a leadership position, or you might be the person others naturally turn to for support, guidance and clinical advice. Either way, you are excited by the opportunity to help shape a clinic and develop the people within it.
You will bring:
- Strong clinical experience and sound decision-making skills
- A supportive, collaborative and approachable leadership style
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing veterinarians and nurses
- A commitment to high standards of patient care and client service
- The ability to build trust, encourage ideas and bring a team together
- Veterinary registration in South Australia, or eligibility to obtain it
Most importantly, you will see leadership as an opportunity to help others do their best work - not as something you need to carry alone.
What you can look forward to
- Genuine influence over the clinic's future direction, culture and clinical standards
- A talented, close-knit team ready to learn from an experienced leader
- A purpose-built clinic with quality facilities and equipment
- Collaboration with experienced veterinarians across multiple nearby AdelaideVet clinics
- Access to the wider VetPartners network for clinical and leadership development
- Opportunities to build your leadership capability while continuing to grow clinically
- A supportive professional community with people to share ideas, challenges and successes with
- Visa sponsorship and a relocation allowance for eligible candidates
Ready to shape what comes next?
This is more than an opportunity to inherit a title.
It is a chance to step into a clinic with strong foundations, build something meaningful with a team who are ready for your guidance and leave your mark on the way the clinic grows.
