Transform lives, every single day
Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.
We’re a well-respected not-for-profit that’s been serving people in need for over 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for the 40,000+ people who rely on our person-centred support.
As our Food and Toy Coordinator, you’ll help bring the joy of Christmas to families experiencing financial hardship through Anglicare’s much-loved Toys ’n’ Tucker program.
Each Christmas, generous donations of food and toys are collected, sorted and packed into hampers and gift parcels for thousands of families across our communities.
Based at our Minchinbury warehouse, you’ll play a hands-on role in coordinating donations, supporting volunteers and ensuring Christmas hampers and gifts are prepared with care and efficiency.
Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don’t just talk about values – we live them.
Your opportunity
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a busy, community-focused Christmas program where your organisation, teamwork and leadership will make a tangible difference on a 6 week contract from the 2nd of November to the 18th of December
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you’ll help coordinate the daily sorting and packing of donated food and toys, ensuring volunteers are supported and operations run smoothly.
You’ll create an organised, welcoming and safe environment where volunteers can contribute meaningfully while ensuring the quality of hampers and gift parcels prepared for families in need.
With integrity and compassion, you will:
- Coordinate the sorting, packing and preparation of donated food and toys for distribution to families experiencing hardship.
- Support, guide and supervise volunteers, providing clear instructions, inductions and ongoing communication.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient daily operations and the timely preparation of Christmas hampers.
- Maintain quality standards by ensuring food donations are appropriately sorted, checked and prioritised according to expiry dates.
- Promote a positive, safe and inclusive working environment, including delivering workplace safety briefings when required.
What you’ll bring
You’re an organised, practical and compassionate person who enjoys bringing people together to achieve a shared goal.
You thrive in a busy, hands-on environment, communicate clearly and can confidently guide volunteers through daily activities.
You’ll bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and the ability to keep operations moving smoothly while making every volunteer feel valued and supported.
What’s required
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate activities and provide clear guidance to volunteers.
- A caring, compassionate and collaborative approach to working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A valid Working with Children Check.
What’s preferred
- Previous experience supervising, training or coordinating volunteers.
- Experience in warehouse operations, stock handling, food donations or community programs.
- Experience supporting seasonal campaigns, events or high-volume distribution activities.
You’ll also share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, embedding them in everything you do.
Why Anglicare?
We provide meaningful opportunities and choice, both for the individuals and communities we support and the dedicated people here who make it happen.
At Anglicare, you’ll belong to a community of kind, humble and respectful people of all faiths and backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference.

- A rewarding seasonal opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families experiencing hardship.
- Working alongside a passionate and supportive team of staff and volunteers.
- A positive, community-focused working environment.
- The opportunity to develop your coordination, communication and volunteer support skills.
- The satisfaction of knowing your work helps bring food, gifts and Christmas joy to families who need it most.
