Visiting Medical Officer Cardiologist, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital (TRRH)
Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a suitably qualified cardiologist to join a growing regional cardiology service. This role suits a clinician who can practise independently, contribute to a broad general cardiology workload, and help shape contemporary services across both inpatient and outpatient care. Mentoring opportunities are available for young consultants, and senior consultants are also welcome to apply.Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Cardiology), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways is an essential criteria for this position.
Applicants may bring a wide range of interests and procedural skills. Experience in one or more of the following is advantageous but not essential: coronary angiography and catheterisation, coronary intervention, transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac implantable electronic device implantation, CT coronary angiography, and cardiac MRI. The position can be tailored to the successful applicant's scope of practice and development goals, with opportunities to consolidate existing skills and expand practice over time.
The successful applicant will participate in the cardiology and acute care roster, including on call responsibilities and weekend ward rounds as required. They will provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care for Tamworth and surrounding communities, with the option to deliver services through public outpatient clinics and or private consulting rooms. There are strong opportunities to develop a mixed public private practice, supported by an established referral base. You will join a collegial team of four local cardiologists, alongside a broad specialist workforce at TRRH. The service maintains close clinical links with tertiary Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery services in Newcastle, enabling shared care, streamlined referral pathways, and regular specialist-to-specialist collaboration.
The role includes a strong teaching and leadership component. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to mentor junior medical officers, including cardiology advanced trainees, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of independent clinical practice.
Tamworth Hospital is a large rural referral and major trauma hospital that supports a substantial regional catchment. It has a 24 hour emergency department and a broad medical and surgical base, which creates consistent exposure to acute cardiology, perioperative medicine, and complex comorbidity.
For cardiology, the hospital has a Coronary Care Unit and ICU and is supported by an onsite cardiac catheterisation laboratory, enabling genuine acute coronary and procedural pathways within a regional setting. The CCL performs over 1000 procedures annually, with a dedicated 6bed recovery area adjacent to the Coronary Care Unit, supporting efficient patient flow and close day to day collaboration across the cardiac service.
The service sits within a wider network across Hunter New England, with established escalation and shared care links to tertiary services in Newcastle including John Hunter Hospital for cardiothoracic surgery and higher complexity cases.
Mandatory requirements of this role include:
Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined and required by HNELHD
Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD

As a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry, you will deliver flexible, high-quality mental health care across various settings within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Over the past 10 years, the service has experienced significant growth, with major investments in capital equipment and human resources. During this time, the Radiation Oncology Department has welcomed the addition of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Simulator and MRI Linear Accelerator to its fleet. Additionally, further investment is underway for two new linear accelerators, with advanced stereotactic capacity, and surface guided radiotherapy system.
Along with these service developments, there has been significant growth in staff numbers, particularly at the ONJ with the introduction of the MRI Linac Radiotherapy State Based Referral Program.
The service has 5 Conventional Linacs, MR Linear Accelerator, 3 CT Simulators, MR Simulator, 3 Superficial radiotherapy units and a Nucletron HDR after loader, brachytherapy. The service is fully developed in IMRT and IGRT and multimodality imaging. The service is committed to expanding its capability and developing future technological modalities.
Austin Radiation Oncology employs over 170 staff across all its sites.
About the role- Employment status: Permanent full time
As the Radiation Therapy Manager (BAROC) you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality radiation therapy, professional leadership, and oversight of radiation therapy services at the Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology site.
This position is accountable for ensuring the consistent delivery of a high-quality, patient-centred radiation therapy service that meets contemporary clinical standards and achieves excellence in safety, efficiency, and required clinical outcomes. The RT Manager oversees the daily radiation therapy operations at BAROC in planning of the service, including workforce, quality and safety, financial stewardship, service development, and infrastructure planning at the direction of radiation oncology operations manager.
The Radiation Therapy Manager leads a large and diverse team of radiation therapists, providing professional guidance, operational oversight, and performance support to ensure a skilled, engaged, and capable workforce. The role is instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and professional development through mentoring, coaching, and structured learning initiatives. The RT Manager serves as both technical and clinical expert and oversees treatment delivery, simulation processes, patient scheduling and department operations. The position plays a key role in maintaining clinical excellence, optimizing workflows and supporting a collaborative care environment.
As a key member of the Radiation Oncology leadership and governance teams, the Manager plays a critical role in driving innovation, implementing strategic priorities, and supporting cross-site initiatives where needed. This includes contributing to capital works and infrastructure planning, supporting the introduction of new technologies or treatment techniques, and ensuring compliance with national standards, legislative requirements, and organisational policies.
The role requires a strong commitment to interprofessional collaboration, patient-focused care, and evidence-based practice. This role collaborates with the Radiation Therapy Manager (ONJ) to build efficiencies, network profile and scale as appropriate.
The BAROC Radiation Therapy Manager works in close partnership with the Operations Manager Radiation Oncology and BAROC Radiation Oncology Director to ensure service integration and alignment with Austin Health's broader strategic objectives, research goals, and teaching mission.

About the OpportunityWe're seeking experienced Clinical Nurses to join our expanding Hospital in the Home (HITH) service across Victoria. As a HITH Clinical Nurse, you'll deliver advanced clinical care to patients with acute and complex healthcare needs while working as part of a progressive multidisciplinary team committed to innovation, compassion, and clinical excellence. You'll use your advanced nursing expertise, clinical judgement, and care coordination skills to help patients receive safe, high-quality care in the comfort of their own homes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and clinical reviews.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Deliver advanced nursing interventions including IV therapies and complex clinical care.
- Monitor patients with acute and complex healthcare needs and elevate care when required.
- Coordinate referrals, admissions, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate closely with Medical Officers, Clinical Leads, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support patients, families, and carers through education and care planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and service development activities.
- Mentor and support new and junior team members.
- Contribute to innovative healthcare delivery that strengthens the connection between hospital and home.
You're an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives in an autonomous environment, enjoys building meaningful patient relationships, and is passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care in community settings.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum three (3) years post-graduate nursing experience.
- Experience in community nursing and/or acute medical, surgical, emergency, or critical care settings.
- Demonstrated experience supporting patients with complex clinical needs and multiple co-morbidities.
- Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong digital literacy and willingness to utilise telehealth and virtual care technologies.
- Current unrestricted Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Highly Regarded Hospital in the Home (HITH), community nursing, outreach nursing, or virtual care experience.
- Postgraduate nursing qualifications.
- Experience contributing to service innovation, quality improvement, or clinical projects.
