Your part in our UnitingCare team
In this role, you will support young people, particularly those experiencing disadvantage or complex circumstances, to develop the practical, personal, social and emotional skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.
Working within a strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centred framework, you will facilitate engaging life skills activities that build confidence, resilience and community connection.
You will work collaboratively with Case Workers to ensure activities align with individual case plans and support goals across areas such as:
- Food preparation, nutrition and meal planning
- Budgeting and daily money management
- Household management and tenancy responsibilities
- Time management and establishing healthy routines
- Community participation and social connection
- Employment readiness, resume development and interview preparation
- Accessing housing, health, transport and social support services
You will also contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment while maintaining professional boundaries, managing risk appropriately and accurately documenting client progress.
Due to the inherent requirements of this program's service delivery, we require female representation in this role. As such, we are currently seeking a Female Youth Worker. Being female is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).

- Build positive, respectful relationships with young people, particularly those experiencing disadvantage or complex circumstances
- Develop and facilitate engaging, inclusive and practical life skills activities
- Work collaboratively with Case Workers so activities complement individual case plan goals
- Communicate effectively, manage challenging situations, and use de-escalation and conflict resolution skills
- Identify and respond appropriately to risk while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Bring a practical, flexible and positive approach to working within a busy residential service
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Services or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting young people with complex needs and diverse backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal, planning and administrative skills
Highly regarded:
- Experience in food preparation, food safety or small-scale catering
- Knowledge of strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centred practice
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary or case management environment

What You'll be doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.
The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

1. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development.
6. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster, elective and emergency operations and collaborative cases (including ad hoc).
7. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.& Current or future international fellowship experience in microsurgery and oncology surgery (in particular head & neck/lower limb/ breast reconstruction, and complex cutaneous oncology surgery).
8. Demonstrate ability to perform all breadth of facial fracturesand demonstrate ability to perform multidisciplinary reconstructive surgeries, such as perineal reconstruction and head & neck oncology surgery.

1. Current medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). FRACS in General Surgery and/or other specialist recognition as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973, with post fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery.
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard in all aspects of patient care including non-operative care, pre and post -operative care and demonstrated endo- surgical and minimally invasive surgical skills relevant to Endocrine and General Surgery with the ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice. This position requires a Surgeon with experience and expertise in Endocrine, Head & Neck Surgery and Surgical Oncology with particular emphasis on Melanoma surgery. The successful applicant will have emergency general surgery and trauma responsibilities and within the unit provide leadership in surgical training and contribute to Head and Neck, Melanoma and Endocrine MOTs.
3. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
4. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development. Participation in Morbidity & Mortality and Multidisciplinary meetings. Participation in development of local area guidelines in Endocrine Surgery. Demonstrated ability and commitment to be involved in clinical and/or lab based research activities.
5. Preparedness to participate in Trauma/General Surgery on-call roster, including sub specialty on-call.

The Transition to Specialty Practice (TSP) – Intensive Care Program is a comprehensive, supported pathway for Registered Nurses looking to develop specialist skills in critical care nursing.
Commencing in February 2027, this part time opportunity (0.8FTE) combines structured education with hands-on clinical experience, providing the knowledge, confidence and support needed to transition into the dynamic and rewarding ICU environment. Participants will work rotating shifts while undertaking the program.
Working within Cabrini’s 16-bed Level 3 Intensive Care Unit, you will care for patients requiring complex medical, surgical and critical care management, supported by experienced clinicians, educators and leaders.
About Our ICU
Cabrini’s ICU provides care for patients requiring advanced critical care, including:
- Major surgical and post-cardiac surgery recovery
- Respiratory failure and advanced respiratory support
- Neurological and neurosurgical conditions
- Sepsis, renal failure and multi-organ dysfunction
- Emergency admissions and inter-hospital transfers

About the Role
The Haematology Clinical Research Centre is seeking a Specimen Shipment Laboratory Assistant to support the management, documentation and shipment of biological specimens associated with haematology clinical research.
Working under the guidance of the Unit Manager, you will coordinate the preparation and shipment of laboratory samples to local and international sponsors, ensuring specimens are handled, documented and dispatched safely and within study-specific requirements. You will play an important role in supporting the efficient operation of the Haematology Clinical Research Centre through accurate specimen tracking, database management, courier coordination and adherence to clinical trial laboratory manuals and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and adhere to clinical trial laboratory manuals and study-specific instructions for the shipment of biological specimens.
Prepare and check shipping documentation, including airway bills, customs documentation, specimen manifests, proformas and other study-specific documentation.
Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate tracking and identification records for specimens leaving the laboratory.
Coordinate daily courier bookings for specimens being shipped from the Haematology Clinical Research Centre.
Collect processed samples from St Vincent's Pathology and ensure they are safely packed and prepared for shipment to local and international laboratories.
Coordinate the preparation and dispatch of shipments according to study-specific schedules, ensuring time-sensitive specimens are sent within required timeframes.
Enter and maintain accurate data in clinical trial databases, disease registries and other research databases.
Assist with the identification, documentation and escalation of specimen shipment deviations, errors, near misses and incidents in accordance with departmental procedures.
Assist with the development, review and implementation of specimen shipment procedures, checklists, templates and other operational documentation.
Complete mandatory hospital training and study-specific training relating to specimen handling, processing and shipment.
Work collaboratively with Clinical Trial Coordinators, Clinical Research Nurses, laboratory staff, investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary research team.
Contribute to the efficient and safe operation of the Haematology Clinical Research Centre.

You will bring:
A Bachelor of Science, or previous relevant experience working in a hospital, pathology, laboratory, clinical research or healthcare environment.
Completion of IATA Dangerous Goods training.
Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
The ability to accurately follow written procedures, protocols, laboratory manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and study-specific instructions.

This position is part of the ALERT Team within the Health Care for Homeless Program (HfH). The HfH Program provides a range of services within St Vincent’s to support people who are experiencing, or are at risk of, homelessness. The program aims to strengthen the integration and coordination of existing services across St Vincent’s Hospital and develop new services to respond to the needs of the target population. Operationally, the role has strong links with the Health Independence Program (HIP). HIP provides a comprehensive range of specialist clinics, services and rehabilitation programs, including rapid-response health management, short- to medium-term care coordination and health education. HIP supports clients to be active decision-makers in their care and assists them to develop self-management skills to achieve their healthcare goals.
ALERT supports people with complex needs who experience one or more key risk factors, including:
Substance use
Mental health concerns
Homelessness
Disability
Complex aged care needs
Family violence
The position is based at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, primarily within the Emergency Department, and also provides support and interventions in the community as part of an interdisciplinary team.

About the Role

About the Role

About the role

About the Department:
The Department of Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine (the Department) is part of St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and is affiliated with the Department of Critical Care Medicine of The University of Melbourne. It provides world class training in anaesthesia, combined with leading clinical care, and an active research program. For more information, please see http://www.anaesthesia.org.au
The Department of Anaesthesia has over 80 medical staff including full time and visiting consultant anaesthetists, anaesthetic trainees and rotating junior doctors. In addition we have 2 pain nurses, 7 research staff, and 2 biomedical technicians.

Clinical placement reports: Two most recent acute nursing placement reports.
Professional references: Two referees, with at least one from your most recent clinical placement. Include full name, title, phone number, and email address.
