About the Role
Assist theatre staff to transport patients within the Operating Suite from Reception and Day Stay Unit to the appropriate Theatre, Recovery, and Reception for discharge.
Assist with preparations of the Operating Room table and its attachments for varying surgical procedures.
Ensure adequate equipment is present for each Operating Room.
Work with the Nurse Managers and colleagues to provide optimal service to all customers, including patients, VMOs, and nursing staff.
Participate in the Surgical Services Department and hospital staff meetings and education programs.
Continuously update knowledge in new treatments, practices, and equipment to ensure the delivery of the highest standard of care.
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements in relation to Workplace Health & Safety, Bullying & Harassment in the Workplace Policy.
Comply with the requirements of the WH&S Act and all relevant WHS, and injury management policies and procedures.
About You
Previous hospital or Operating Room experience.
A commitment to attending conferences and lectures as identified as requirements for this position.
Knowledge of the Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.

In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney.
One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals.

With fair and balanced shifts across mornings, afternoons, and overnight and weekends, shared evenly among our 6-person leadership team, we strive to create a positive work-life harmony.
As a CSSD Supervisor you will supervise a team of 13-15 on any given shift (5 on overnight shifts), with an excellent reputation, we now have 18 main operating theatres. You will be exposed to the latest in surgical technology, including robotics, and work with some of the highest calibre surgeons in Australia who are usually based onsite in our consulting suites.
About the role
You will play a vital role in supervising and ensuring the effective processing and supply of Operating Room instruments, equipment, and items supplied by CSSD. This critical department is central to hospital operations, responsible for the decontamination, sterilisation, and distribution of medical equipment — safeguarding patient safety and infection control.
Your responsibilities include assisting with the disinfection of state-of-the-art surgical equipment and supporting a team that takes pride in delivering high standards of patient care. If you are highly motivated and ready to act as a clinical resource while managing resources to achieve outstanding outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
For this role we can consider a part-time contract, with a minimum commitment of 4 shifts per week (32 hours), this opportunity could be the great next step for a Sterilisation Technician who has the career drive to be in a leadership position, you will be provided with mentorship and support in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily supervision and support to CSSD staff alongside the CSSD Manager, ensuring priorities and standards are met.
Monitor processing activities according to Aus/NZ187 standards and manufacturer IFUs, making recommendations, as necessary.

About the role
The Orthoptist will join the Ophthalmology team to ensure patients receive high quality ophthalmic care whilst attending the Women and Children’s Health Network. The orthoptist will investigate and manage paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility conditions and contribute to the effective and efficient running of Ophthalmology outpatient clinics.
Key duties of the role
- Provide effective Orthoptic assessment and management services, including the management of amblyopia, refractive error, strabismus and other Orthoptic conditions, using evidence-based practice
- Liaise with senior staff on complex cases and contribute to contact lens services, administration and departmental teaching
- Support and actively participate in a positive culture and safe work environment within the Ophthalmology department
- Actively participate in SA Health’s Clinical Supervision programme working with your supervisor on a regular basis to further build your knowledge base.
Skills and Experience
- Appropriate degree or Master’s Degree qualification in Orthoptics which entitles registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB). Eligible for membership of Orthoptics Australia (OA)”
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in paediatric ophthalmology.
- Demonstrated experience in paediatric orthoptics, including strabismus, amblyopia and ocular motility.
- Strong clinical, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

The Role
You will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in the delivery of quality patient care and in the provision of support services to clinical staff in area of speciality.
The Position
Transport patients to all areas of the hospital in accordance with recommended safe practices (any mode of transport including bed and wheelchair)
Assists with patient mobility, transfers and positioning in accordance with occupational safety and health practices, using manual handling equipment such as hoists and slide sheets under the direction of the Registered/Enrolled Nurse/Midwife
Maintain tidy patient care environment
Remove clinical care equipment and supplies from discharge rooms as relevant to area of work
Strip, clean and restock discharge beds/trolleys/cubicles/bathrooms as relevant to area of work
Prepare the meal table, open packages and ensure patient is positioned to eat and drink.
Seek assistance from other caregivers if patient needs help with feeding (e.g. cutting up food)
Assists by answering patient call bells and telephone calls in a timely manner, making and tidying patient beds and assist in ensuring patients surroundings are clean and tidy
With well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively and harmoniously within in a multi-disciplinary team environment, commitment to customer service will be a priority.
To succeed you will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise own workload and demonstrate good organisational skills.

- The annual salary range for full time Registered Midwives – AUD $85,732 - $107,669 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
