If you are a confident and clinically experienced Registered Nurse with strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgement and a passion for cardiac care, we want to hear from you.
Make your next career move and join our dedicated Cath Lab team at St John of God Bendigo Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
- Complete comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, including clinical history, medication review, observations and relevant risk assessments.

- Assist with the preparation and safe positioning of patients for cardiac procedures and ensure all required equipment and clinical resources are available.
- Administer medications and procedural therapies safely and in accordance with relevant policies, including sedation and other medications as required within scope of practice.
- Monitor patients following procedures, including assessment of vital signs, pain, bleeding, vascular access sites and potential complications.
- Recognise and appropriately escalate clinical deterioration or procedural complications, working collaboratively with medical and senior nursing staff.
- Work closely with cardiologists, cardiac technicians, anaesthetic staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Provide education, reassurance and support to patients and their families throughout the procedural journey.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation and provide clear clinical handover.
- Contribute to safe discharge planning, including patient education regarding post-procedure care, medications, wound/access-site management and follow-up requirements.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, medication safety and clinical governance.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and an exceptional patient experience.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have at least 5 years of post-registration nursing experience, with previous experience in Cath Lab, cardiac, coronary care, perioperative or another procedural setting highly regarded.
You will have well-developed clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to confidently manage patients in a fast-paced and technically specialised environment. You will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong prioritisation and effective communication skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
You will also demonstrate:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and reassuring approach to patient care.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to clinical excellence, continuous learning and delivering a positive patient experience.

Monash Health View all jobs

Reference: 2428401
Monash Health exists to reimagine care, so that people can live their best lives.
We provide safe and equitable care, for every stage of life, delivered with world-leading expertise and over 175 years of experience. Our team of 24,000 people are full hearted, open minded and all in. Together, we provide more than 250 integrated services for every stage of life at over 50 locations and in the community across south-east Melbourne, Victoria, serving 1.2 million residents in the South Metro Local Health Service Network.
To see first-hand what our colleagues think about working here, take a look at the following short videos monashhealth.org/careers.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior clinician to step into the Team Manager role within the CASEA program, part of Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.
Based at the Atherton Hub in Oakleigh, this is a permanent part-time position (0.8 EFT) where you’ll have the opportunity to lead a skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape a service that supports children, families and the communities around them. CASEA works at the intersection of mental health and education, partnering with schools and education services to identify concerns early, strengthen the supports around children and families, and improve access to appropriate mental health care.
As Team Manager, you’ll provide both clinical and operational leadership, creating an environment where clinicians feel supported to do their best work. You’ll provide supervision, mentoring and clinical guidance, foster a collaborative and cohesive team culture, and support the continued development and delivery of evidence-based care.
A key part of this role is building strong partnerships across three different service systems – Monash Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, the Department of Education and Catholic education. You’ll help bring these systems together around a shared purpose: supporting children earlier and strengthening the people and environments around them.
Your role will include:
- leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team of experienced mental health clinicians
- providing clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and opportunities for professional growth
- fostering a positive, collaborative and connected team culture
- working in partnership with education services to support children, parents and school communities
- overseeing assessment, group interventions and therapeutic support for children and families
- strengthening relationships between mental health, education and community services
- supporting consultation, education and training for education staff
- contributing to evidence-based practice, service development, research and evaluation
- ensuring high-quality service delivery and achievement of clinical and operational outcomes.
This is an opportunity to combine your clinical expertise, leadership and passion for early intervention in a role where your impact extends beyond an individual child or family – to the clinicians you lead, the schools you partner with and the broader systems supporting children’s mental health.
This opportunity is open to suitably qualified clinicians from the following disciplines:
- Psychologist Grade 4
- Occupational Therapist Grade 5
- Social Worker Grade 5
- Speech Pathologist Grade 5
- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 5.
About the Department/Program
The Monash Health CAMHS and Schools Early Action (CASEA) Program is a joint initiative of Infant, CHild and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS), the Department of Health, Department of Early Education and Childhood Development (DEECD) and Catholic Education Office of Melbourne (CEOM). Designed as an early intervention program, the CASEA program is conducted in school settings with children identified as being at risk of developing serious behaviour problems including Conduct Disorder. The focus of the program is to up skill teachers in child and parenting group programs that they will deliver in partnership with CASEA staff.
About You
You’re an experienced mental health clinician and leader who is passionate about creating the conditions for children, families and clinicians to thrive.
You bring strong clinical expertise in infant, child and youth mental health, alongside the confidence to lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team. You understand that great leadership is not just about overseeing service delivery – it’s about building a positive team culture, supporting clinicians through complexity and creating an environment where people feel valued, connected and confident in the work they do.
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within mental health or a related clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of infant, child and youth mental health, including assessment, risk and evidence-based practice
- The ability to mentor, supervise and support clinicians to grow their capability and confidence
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to bring people together around shared goals
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across health, education and community services
- Confidence navigating complex clinical, operational and stakeholder matters
- A commitment to continuous improvement, reflective practice and high-quality care.
You’ll be someone who values early intervention and working beyond traditional service boundaries, recognising the important role families, schools and communities play in supporting a child’s mental health and wellbeing. Most importantly, you’ll be a leader who wants to make a difference – for the children and families CASEA supports, and for the clinicians you lead.
