It is expected that the CMO has been exposed to all aspects of general paediatric medicine and is able to competently assess children presenting to the Emergency Department and make appropriate provisional diagnoses and management plans. The CMO is also expected to be proficient at both neonatal and paediatric resuscitation. The CMO will be exposed to a broad range of developmental and behavioural problems and they are expected to undertake the assessments as part of the multidisciplinary teams and independently where required. Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the medical officer's skills, knowledge and experience. The CMO will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health district are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
Essential requirements- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Minimum four years experience in general paediatrics in a metropolitan hospital or tertiary paediatric centre with demonstrated ability to work at CMO level.
- Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in the last 2 years in a setting appropriate to the needs of the position.
- Demonstrated experience and training in paediatric procedural and resuscitation skills including venepuncture, cannulation, bladder catheterisation and lumbar puncture.
- Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education.
- This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency. If the incumbent's registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role.

We are currently partnering with a well-established NSW public Local Health District to recruit an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist into a combined Clinical Director and Staff Specialist appointment within its Mental Health Service. About the serviceOur client is a NSW Health Local Health District serving one of the state's fastest-growing coastal populations, located within easy reach of Sydney. The Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive continuum of care - spanning acute inpatient, community, consultation-liaison, older persons, youth, and specialist mental health programs - across two major public hospitals and a network of community mental health centres. The service is supported by a well-established multidisciplinary workforce and is investing significantly in workforce development, service redesign, and integrated models of care to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding catchment.
Your opportunity- Provide clinical and strategic leadership across the district's Mental Health Service in a dedicated Clinical Director capacity
- Contribute to clinical governance, service planning, quality improvement, and workforce development initiatives
- Maintain a Staff Specialist clinical caseload aligned with your sub-specialty interest and service need
- Lead, mentor, supervise and support consultant colleagues, trainees, JMOs and multidisciplinary staff
- Partner closely with the Director of Mental Health, executive, and cross-directorate colleagues on the strategic direction of the service
- Represent the service in inter-agency, LHD, and state-wide forums as required
- Contribute to teaching, training and research activities, with links available to affiliated universities
- Salary and conditions in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award Determination
- Level of appointment negotiated based on experience and expertise

Haematology Trainee Unaccredited Position, Nepean Hospital

What you'll be doing Haematology Trainees manage patients with a range of haematological conditions, including haemopoietic stem cell transplant patients at some centres, under the supervision of Specialist Haematologists. They will also investigate clinical haematology consultations and attend patients and donors in ambulatory care and outpatient settings. The purpose of the position is to provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment in inpatients and outpatient areas in the public health organisation.
Where you'll be working Nepean Hospital is a 600-bed tertiary referral hospital located at Kingswood NSW. The Haematology Unit has a large outpatient and Inpatient commitment. The haematology lab and blood bank performs on-site routine general haematology investigations including bone marrow morphology and ow cytometry.
Essential requirements- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Completed at least four postgraduate years and have completed or intend to complete the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians may be considered.
- International Medical graduates must provide documentation of Australian Medical Council assessment and a report from the relevant College (RCPA or RACP) outlining their training and exam requirements.
- Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in the last 2 years in a setting appropriate to the needs of the position.
- This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency.
- If the incumbent's registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role.
- Valid Working with Children Check, cleared National Police Check.
- To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated interest in Haematology with at least 4 years of post-graduate experience.
- Applicants who have been unsuccessful in the RACP examinations may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgment and expertise.
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated involvement in patient safety and clinical quality improvement activities.
