The Overnight Support Workerresponds to resident crisis and managesthe needs and supports ofresident'safter-hours. The rolehas aself-contained unit (andbed)for all shifts, andoperatesunder an on-callarrangement, responding when residentsrequireassistanceor support.
Duties
- Effectively responds to safety concerns of residents in a prompt and respectful manner,in accordance withATSICHS policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate notes to ensure a smooth and informed handover to daytime staff, compile detailed reports on nightly activities and any irregularities, and liaise with relevant external parties such as police, other hostels, and homeless shelters as necessary to support client needs and service coordination.
- Providetimelyand professional responses toresident requestsin accordance withorganisational policies and procedures. Be readily available throughout the shift to support residents, engage with new arrivals toestablishrapport and a sense of safety,maintainregular contact with existing residents to build positive relationships, and actively contribute to program development activities.
