Cabrini Brighton prides itself on continuing the community hospital experience from back when the site was known as Brighton Community Hospital. Cabrini Brighton Perioperative Services is a caring yet dynamic environment with 5 operating theatres and 1 stand-alone endoscopy suite.
Providing a range of surgical specialties raging from Orthopaedic, Plastic and Reconstructive, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Endocrine, General/Laparoscopic, Urology, Colorectal, ENT and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery with approximately 900 operations each month, ensuring patient centred care. Our day-of-surgery admissions focus on every patient having a positive experience with their admission to theatre, while our Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit and discharge lounge cater for all specialist post-operative care requirements.
How you will make an impact
Cabrini Brighton Perioperative services is seeking experienced nurses specialising in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics/PACU and Endoscopy to join our team:
Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team.
Delivering care to patients to meet Cabrini’s organisational goals.
Demonstrating attention to the needs of the patient and family to maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality
About You
Current AHPRA registration
Relevant Perioperative Services experience
Victorian Working with Children Check
Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes

Your part in The Wesley Hospital team
The Registered Nurse within the Cardiology ward you are responsible for the delivery of safe, holistic nursing care to clients of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals and their families. The Registered Nurse practices independently and interdependently assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions, and the delegation to and the supervision of care provided by Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and health care students (ANMC National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse)
- Demonstrates application of the principles of clinical and workplace risk management.
- Applies sound clinical practice which ensures a safe environment and promotes optimal patient health.
- Effectively exchanges information regarding patient responses to treatment and nursing care.
- Achieves optimum patient care through effective collaboration with other health professionals and coordination of care.
- Achieves optimal patient outcomes through appropriate allocation of staff and delegation of work and uses effective communication skills.
- Exercises authority through appropriate decision making.

Your part in our Buderim Hospital team
As part of our Orderly team, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing staff with the safe transfer, repositioning and mobilisation of patients and the setting up of the theatre equipment in preparation for procedures. In addition to this you will:
- Assist with the transport of patients to and from the ICU, ensuring patient safety during procedures and transfers and support with patient positioning, application of diathermy plate, suction etc.

Your Role as a Case Worker - Identified (Housing and Support Link Service)

You will play an integral role in our HSLS (Housing and Support Link Service) program providing culturally safe, trauma informed and holistic case management and supportive services to young parents (typically ages 16–25) who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or other barriers to independence.
The role focuses on building trusting relationships, strengthening young people’s connection to culture and community, and supporting them to achieve their housing, wellbeing, and life goals.
You’ll achieve this by:
Working from a strengths-based and culturally grounded approach, recognising the resilience, knowledge, and cultural identity of young people and their families.
Engaging and walking alongside young people through culturally safe processes ensuring case plans reflect the young person’s voice, cultural identity, and aspirations, and are developed in partnership with them, their families, and community.
Supporting young people to develop confidence, independence, and practical living skills, while maintaining strong connections to culture, family, and community.
Facilitating and supporting access to programs, support groups, and community networks that align with each young person’s goals and cultural needs.
Providing regular updates and reporting to management and contributing to continuous learning and improvement in culturally safe practice.
Actively contributing to program development and evaluation by embedding, community feedback, and cultural knowledge.

Your opportunity
As the first point of connection for older people, families and referrers, you will provide intake, triage, referral and administrative support for Anglicare's EWOP service. You will gather initial information, support client onboarding and help people access timely emotional wellbeing and mental health support.
You will also manage a small caseload of clients with low-complexity needs, providing basic case coordination under guidance. Working closely with the Program Manager, Case Workers, Case Managers and Mental Health Practitioners, you will escalate complex or high-risk matters to an experienced practitioner.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
- Receive and process referrals received by phone, email and online systems in line with EWOP intake processes.
- Complete initial information gathering and screening using established assessment tools and processes.
- Coordinate onboarding, data entry and communication with clients, families, referrers and other stakeholders.
- Manage a small low-complexity caseload and provide basic case coordination under appropriate supervision.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and escalate complex needs, significant risks or out-of-scope matters promptly.
What you'll bring
You are a calm, organised and responsive intake practitioner who can build rapport with older people, families and referrers while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. You listen carefully, communicate clearly and manage competing priorities without compromising accuracy or client care.

What's required
- A relevant qualification in community services, a health-related field or administration, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in intake, administration or customer service, with strong computer literacy and database skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, complete accurate records and meet required timeframes.
- Well-developed interpersonal, telephone and written communication skills, including supporting people with complex needs and diverse backgrounds.
- Current driver licence and comprehensively insured vehicle; valid Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening checks, or willingness to obtain; and ability to meet Police Check and Category A vaccination requirements.

- Experience in mental health, counselling, case coordination or services supporting older people.
- Experience using structured intake, screening or assessment tools.

Position details
The Role
Undertake nurse-led clinics for common paediatric and neurodevelopmental conditions in the setting of social challenges in collaboration with paediatricians, trainees and allied health staff. Deliver education programs for parents, carers and support staff to support management of common childhood difficulties.
Support statewide policy development, service planning, implementation of evidence-based practice and innovation to improve access, equity and outcomes for children, young people and families across Tasmania.
You will need
- Highly developed, evidence-based clinical knowledge and advanced practice skills in the psychosocial determinants of health, developmental paediatrics, including knowledge of developmental trauma, Out of Home Care, and the needs of vulnerable children and families, with the ability to coordinate complex care across multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings.
- Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives, utilise data for decision-making, and contribute to research translation to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical leadership, influence practice standards, and drive statewide improvements in models of care, including the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate education programs and build capability within nursing and multidisciplinary teams.

Details of appointment
Permanent, part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 months.

Launceston Arthroplasty and Trauma Fellowship Fellowship Overview - The Role & Team The Launceston Arthroplasty and Trauma Fellowship is a 12-month post-FRACS fellowship based primarily at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), with additional clinical experience within the private hospital system in Launceston. The Fellowship provides advanced clinical and operative training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, complex knee surgery (soft tissue and osteotomy) and orthopaedic trauma, together with opportunities in clinical research, teaching and professional development. The Fellow will work within the LGH Orthopaedic Unit alongside nine Australian Orthopaedic Association-accredited orthopaedic surgeons. The consultant group has broad lower-limb, upper-limb and trauma expertise, providing exposure to a diverse range of elective and emergency orthopaedic practice. Clinical and Operative Training The Fellowship provides substantial operative exposure across both elective and trauma surgery. Clinical experience will include: Primary hip and knee arthroplasty Complex and revision arthroplasty Knee reconstruction and complex knee pathology Orthopaedic trauma Periprosthetic fractures and complications of arthroplasty Periprosthetic joint infection Pre-operative assessment, surgical decision-making and postoperative management Outpatient assessment and longitudinal follow-up of elective and trauma patients Education and Teaching The Fellow will participate in the academic activities of the LGH Orthopaedic Department, including: Weekly orthopaedic radiology/X-ray and clinical meetings Case discussions and operative planning Teaching of orthopaedic trainees, junior medical staff and medical students Departmental educational activities Opportunities to participate in University of Tasmania undergraduate and postgraduate teaching The Fellowship is intended not only to develop technical surgical expertise, but also clinical judgement, decision-making, leadership, teaching and the skills required for independent consultant practice. Research Clinical research is an important component of the Fellowship. The Fellow will be encouraged to participate in existing research programs and to develop a research project aligned with their own clinical interests. The Launceston Orthopaedic unit has an active research program encompassing arthroplasty, trauma, periprosthetic joint infection, patient-reported outcomes, surgical technology and orthopaedic education. Research opportunities are supported through collaboration with the University of Tasmania and the Clifford Craig Foundation, as well as participation in multicentre and registry-based research. The expectation is that the Fellow will contribute meaningfully to at least one research project during the Fellowship, with the aim of presentation at a scientific meeting and, where appropriate, peer-reviewed publication. Fellowship Objective The overall objective of the Launceston Arthroplasty and Trauma Fellowship is to provide a broad but individually tailored transition from specialist orthopaedic training to independent consultant practice, with particular expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty, complex knee surgery and orthopaedic trauma. By completion of the Fellowship, the Fellow should have developed increased operative independence, sound clinical judgement in complex elective and trauma cases, experience in teaching and research, and the skills required to establish and contribute to a high-quality contemporary orthopaedic practice.

The Team

The Team:
Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a multi-speciality teaching hospital catering to community in Northern Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
THS Pathology at Launceston General Hospital is a Public Pathology GX laboratory located in LGH and provides multi-disciplinary diagnostic services to community in Northern Tasmania. We offer advanced Laboratory Haematology training and we have a team of dedicated haematologists who supervise the trainees for Laboratory Haematology.
At THS Pathology at Launceston General Hospital, we focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
- Participate and train in the diagnostic Haematology service for inpatients and outpatients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) under the supervision of Clinical and Laboratory Haematologists.
- Work collaboratively with medical and scientific staff and other health professionals in a role commensurate with experience.
- Assist with the Haematology consultation services
- Participate in Haematology outpatient services in a role commensurate with experience
- Undertake haematology procedures eg: Bone marrow biopsies for the malignant and non-malignant patients with haematological disorders as requested by the haematologists.
- Organise MDT and other meetings relevant to the registrar training.
You will need to
- Demonstrate a commitment to training in Laboratory Haematology
- Previous work experience relevant to the role.
With direction and supervision provided by specialist medical staff, the Registrar - Laboratory Haematology is responsible for:
- Adherence to Hospital and professional protocols, policies, clinical pathways and standards.
- Demonstrating sound judgement and competence in accordance with skills and knowledge when undertaking tasks.
- Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with relevant Work Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
Essential Requirements:General or limited registration with AHPRA - Medical Board of Australia.
Desirable requirements: Previous experience in Laboratory Haematology
