Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, part of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, is seeking the services of a paediatrician to provide short periods of leave relief to rural paediatricians across NSW. Just over half of the time will be spent in rural NSW, with the remainder of the time linked with the General Paediatric Department of the successful applicant's choice of one of the Children's Hospitals in NSW.
This is a 0.5 FTE temporary Staff Specialist position, for two years with the option to extend for a further two years pending performance review.
Successful applicants will provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Take the next step in your clinical leadership career with the Paediatric Respiratory Service at John Hunter Children's Hospital.
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, you'll be recognised as a senior clinical leader within a specialist service supporting infants, children and young people with complex respiratory conditions across Hunter New England and surrounding regions.
Working within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll have the opportunity to influence clinical practice, strengthen models of care and contribute to the ongoing development of paediatric respiratory services.

This is more than an advanced clinical role. You'll help shape how care is delivered, support the development of other clinicians and contribute to the continued growth of a leading tertiary paediatric service.
You'll have the opportunity to
Provide specialist clinical advice and advanced care for complex paediatric respiratory conditions
Lead multidisciplinary care to deliver safe, evidence-based and family-centred outcomes
Lead the development and evaluation of clinical practices, policies and care pathways
Mentor and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams through education and clinical leadership
Drive research, quality improvement, innovation and service development
Build strong partnerships with families, healthcare providers and community services

To be successful, you'll have:
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA (Essential)
- At least 5 years' full-time equivalent post-registration experience in Paediatric Nursing (Essential)
- Postgraduate qualifications relevant to Paediatric Nursing or Paediatric Respiratory Nursing, or be working towards a relevant qualification
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in paediatric respiratory nursing
- Strong communication, consultation and negotiation skills
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, research and continuous improvement
- The ability to travel throughout HNE Local Health District to support outreach services
