Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are recruiting for a Staff Specialist to complement and enhance the current Ambulatory Care (HiTH) department. This position will also serve as the Head of Department until the end of Quinquennium (31 December 2028).

What You'll Be Doing
The primary purpose of this position is to act as the functional Head of Ambulatory Care and provide clinical advice as it relates to the operation of the department. Campbelltown Hospital is seeking an active senior clinician who will be responsible for:
- Independent advice on all matters relating to Ambulatory Care directly to the Director of Medicine and Director of Medical Services.
- Independent advice on any matter relating to the medical workforce directly to the Director of Medicine and Director of Medical Services.
- Oversight of, to be responsible for, and to champion enhancements to ongoing clinical practice improvement and safety and quality programs.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management, with the ability to inspire innovation and achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a department, including financial, performance and workforce management and ability to oversee staff education and training.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
- Experience working at a senior departmental level with the ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including significant clinical experience in the community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
- Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
- Demonstrated success in building and co-ordinating effective clinical teams and building relationships with colleagues, staff, hospital executive and consumers.

Your day will involve:- Undertake assurance and audit activities to verify that environmental compliance requirements and environmental obligations within the HSEQ Management Systems are met.
- Undertake, support and maintain environmental inspection verifications and environmental aspects and impacts register reviews on site.
- Provide specialist environmental advice, coaching and training, including supporting site personnel with sourcing and providing relevant legislative/regulatory information.
- Provide input for monthly reports to the Head of Environment on environmental performance and the status of initiatives/programs as well as coordinating external environmental reporting for the Region.
- Support the operations in appropriate preparation, management and response to environmental regulatory compliance inspections, audits, statutory reports and incident notifications.
- Develop effective relationships with key state environmental regulators to facilitate constructive regulatory outcomes.
- Provide advice and support to the operations in managing incidents and assisting with determination of the level of investigation and incident classification for environmental incidents.
- Significant demonstrated experience in an Environmental Management role within the Construction or Construction Materials Industry.
- Proven track record of providing functional support in a complex environment.
- Tertiary level qualification in Environmental management or related field, including Natural Resource Management, Engineering or Science.
- Proven experience in environmental reporting, and to identify, assess and mitigate critical environmental risks including undertake complex risk assessments at a site and business unit level.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of environmental policy, systems, plans and programs.
- Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation in QLD and at federal levels.
